Recent Review: *I will continue to use him, as long as he is in business. *I have use Mike on 4 other major projects around our home and trust his work. I appreciate his communication skills, great feedback and his work ethics.  There is never a crazy mess to clean up after a project and he has wonderful common sense. * He/we built a custom shed in the backyard which looks more like mini pool house with natural light from carefully placed windows. *He/we built a custom trellis in our side yard for sun protection. *He/we traded the original front and kitchen doors for great new doors. He/we remodeled our outdated hall bath and now have a show stopper! **We are wrapping up now on a master bath remodel,  along with updating the rest of the house. (lighting, exhaust fans, ceiling fans, closets) We will be booking him for some patio and another shed building project soon.

Recent Review: First, George Kamilos is a wonderful person and we just happened to find him by asking someone at Home Depot about drywall contractors. We had a major roof leak into our master bathroom and all the drywall and insulation had to be removed. We knew we didn't want to tackle replacing the drywall ourselves, so went about locating someone who could do it for us. George's name was given to us by the Home Depot employee, and he quickly returned our phone call to come to our home to look things over. We learned he is a general contractor and does everything from small repairs to building homes and wow, were we glad to find him. We are extremely picky about home repairs and this was a fairly small job. George did an absolutely excellent job of replacing the drywall in the bathroom, taping and texturing. Our home is24 years old and he was able to match the original sheetrock texturing perfectly . . . we can't even see where the new begins from the old. We would definitely use George's services again if necessary, and highly recommend him.

Recent Review: The first part is repeated from above: "First, the workers built a protective frame around the pool. The roof of our adjacent garage needed to be changed to accommodate the porch's new roofline. Eventually, we had Jim's guys paint the whole garage-back-house. It was fascinating to watch the careful step-by-step construction process. Up went sturdy walls with insulation, double glass windows, roof, strong enough for solar someday, doors (including my choice, a front French door) with internal blinds, sconces and ceiling fans of our choice, outside lights and even a water bib right at my potting bench! Bill insisted on putting that together! The paint was carefully applied.""They put a tasteful amount of cement pathway at the back house, leaving a cutout I requested for small tree/vine." New criticism:  Update, 8/06/12. The entire big house has now been painted by Jim's friend, Tim, a tireless worker. Working top to bottom, they had a roofer inspect the old roof. Upon analyzing that, they said, with repairs, it would give us five more years. (We were ready to have to reroof. Notice a certain quality there?!) So starting with the roof, they meticulously repaired everything they could find that was rotting or cracking, then, for painting, chose a special, tough undercoat, then painted very carefully.  Also, that "pole" area (for draping shading material.) in front of the pool-house, has now been completed more beautifully than I could have pictured it. In a few years, it will be vine covered, but for now, they are putting up a material that partially shades, like the indoor/outdoor section of a nursery. Just what I pictured. There will even be a swing hanging from one side for our two-year old grandchild! There is question as to whether we'll get to flag stones planned by Jim or wait, now that our family is visiting. But I want to hand in this review.   Do not hesitate to hire this company for a wonderful construction job. Jim is organized, professional, polite and not overly salesman-like. Bill and his roofers are great guys to have around for awhile! Jim breezes in and out to check on EVERY step and if something is wrong (like some electrical needed to be redone for the inspectors) it gets done with NO grousing. Pretty amazing, really.

Recent Review: We purchased our home while it was in the framing stage. During the purchase negotiations, we asked for certain upgrades for additional cost. When we noticed some upgrades weren't done, he made up an excuse. (Example: In the kitchen, we paid for a sink with a vegetable sink on one side, and a larger sink on the other side for pots & pans. When we pointed out that he had not installed what we paid for, he said "You can't get those anymore." We have since seen them at a home supply store.) After we moved in, we noticed other problems (Example: Finish grading wasn't done around the house; there was 3 feet of extra gravel surrounding the entire foundation that we had to pay to have hauled away). Another example: The walk-in closet in the master bedroom was framed too small; you can hang clothes on the closet rods or you can open/close the door, but you can't do both. We had to take the door off permanently to use the closet). Each time we contacted him about a problem (water leak through the walls, soaking carpet the 1st winter; furnace not connected to gas source; wobbling ceiling fans), Mr. Auger argued with us and was reluctant to do anything. He complained he had sold the house to us too soon, and would have made more money if he had waited until the house was finished. He later blamed us for his decision to stop building homes. We were extremely disappointed with the quality of construction and his negative attitude. Overall, it seems like he just doesn't care about the customer's satisfaction, just the money.

FPhillips Advantage Handyman Services
This gentleman is not a handyman. He does not have experience in building homes nor the knowledge required to do so. He is not a person that can troubleshoot a problem because he doesn't know what to look for. I am not convinced he could repair a wooden fence. He is only a certified home inspector. That means he took a 30 hour course that focuses on building codes associated with viewable works of a residential building. Things you can readily see such as height of ceiling and exhaust fans, opening widths, plumbing water conservation code requirements (faucets, toilets, shower heads), alarm requirements for fire and carbon monoxide, and other exposed works. They do not cover a depth of plumbing, electrical or carpentry construction codes. A buyer is advised to not consider this person, get a licensed contractor to do the home inspection. We presented him with a broad range of work to be performed. He picked out simplest tasks only. We laughed as that would leave us with a small subset of work to be done making it harder to attract a qualified person who would bother. These home inspectors won't check the costly items to replace or repair such as your air conditioner, furnace, water heater, water conditioner, air flow balance, venting and exhaust of ambient air, nor anything to do with your roof nor foundation. In regards to windows, nothing except a broken seal or broken glass.
