Recent Review: Handyman Construction gives estimates for their labor costs only. Not included in this estimate is the cost of supplies or the cost of hauling away the debris from the work. When I first called to inquire about service I was told that the estimate would be for labor only. I was told about the waste removal as an extra fee at the time I sat down to sign a contract. This is really the only issue I thought could have been told when I first inquired. This may be industry standard, I am not sure. They did tell me before work started, but it was a little bit of a surprise. Other than this small detail, every communication I had with them was courteous and timely. If I called, my calls were responded to promptly and with the information I requested. Joe was very interested in making sure I understood what work he was doing and offered choices when there were alternatives that might save money or increase costs. I was kept informed throughout the project of problems that had been uncovered when wood was removed and given options about how to proceed. Every day I was there, he walked the project with me to make sure I knew what had been done and what the plan was for the next day. If they did work I could not see from the ground, he took pictures to show me what had been done. The project took longer than originally estimated due to our decision to include the chimneys and due to damage that was revealed on our roof when the fascia was removed but Joe was there every day, not doing other jobs at the same time he was working on our house. Joe also was helpful in making sure I knew what to ask for from another company that was doing the roofing work. I felt he was looking out for my best interest.
