Recent Review: My electric stove is 59 years old. Twenty years ago I replaced two burners. They needed replacing again. The repairman found that not only the two burners needed replacing but also all four switches. Tony, the repairman, was very thorough working with this stove. His first call was over two hours long. He had to come a second time and this call went faster. He did excellent work. The price I paid for labor was very fair. The only complaint I had about price was the price of the parts ($900). But I don't think Lerman had any control over that. I remember that twenty years ago the repair parts were very expensive then.

Recent Review: He ordered parts for oven door, and fixed out eclectic stove top. then out of courtesy he determined the problem with our home heater although he knew it was beyond his expertise to repair. the diagnoses will help us in determining what the a/c repairman should be fixing. He seemed to be very thorough.

Responded to initial call and said parts needed to be ordered. When parts arrived, replaced them. However, the elements replaced did not work in sync and requests for follow up were ignored.

Do not do business with this company. My home warranty company sent them. The repair person scratched my brand new range and misaligned the burners under the ceramic top. His repair failed less than 24 hours later. Company is unresponsive. Their anonymous "claims department" rejected my claim for damage on the repair person's word, despite detailed photographs. Reina of customer service claims that she answers directly to a board of shareholders and there is no one above her to speak or correspond with. Truly the most dishonest, incompetent company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. Their repair person was also late for their five-hour service window.

We just moved into a new house, and I wanted to get an estimate on converting our electric stove to gas, and on moving our washer and dryer to the garage.  Michael came to our house and gave me ballpark estimates on moving the washer and dryer, then pulled the electric stove out and determined that we already have the plumbing for a gas stove.  Although I wound up having no work to give him for now, Michael couldn't have been more helpful or pleasant about the whole experience.  I was completely wowed.  He is our plumber for life.

CHI TECH APPLIANCE REPAIR
After waiting for 2 hours, they called to say that their technician had car trouble....could they come 4 hours later...ok....Luckily I had done some internet homework on my stove and had an idea of some of the possible problems. I called the stove company and got some prices on possible parts. When they arrived they were friendly and seemed to know what they were doing. They charge $39 to show up and make an estimate. The estimate was $100 labor and $195 for the part. I knew, from the company, that the part cost between $25 and $40. When I told them this, they did a song and dance about how their part was "original". I said no to the estimate and started to write a check for $39. Then the bargaining started...the price instantly came down by $130. They knew what they were doing and replaced it, by the way, within 15 minutes. I decided to replace two lesser parts as well and the bargaining started all over again. Basically, this company will take you for whatever they can get away with. They were nice personally. I would say I was lied to or misled about 3 times. I would strongly suggest that everyone needs to do some homework or get taken. I don't mind paying for labor and expertise and a reasonable mark-up on parts. This company, and I suspect many others, simply exploit our ignorance.

Cagle?s Appliance was prompt. Their prices were fair. They did what they said they?d do and did it quickly. Their original estimate was $286. They got in and the parts that had been broken were repaired rather easily. So it was just $86. Their quality of work was fine. They were very responsive and punctual. There were two repairmen. One was not very professional and then the second one came out and revised the estimates. He was extremely professional.

FJeff & Sons Appliance Repair
The stove in our rental unit was not working, so we looked on Angie's List and found Jeff & Sons.  I spoke to David and scheduled an appointment.  David went out and found that the igniter was bad and gave us a price of $185 to fix it.  We agreed to his price. He also said his company offered a 5 year warranty. Once the repair was complete David sent me an invoice.  However, the "5 year warranty" info was crossed out and 1 year was written in.  When I asked David why this was, he said he didn't realize it--that it was an old invoice from another job.  When I asked that he resend the invoice with correct 5 year warranty info., he said it wasn't necessary, and that the company would honor the 5 year warranty.  When I refused to pay him unless he resent corrected invoice., he accused me of not trusting him and being unfair.  Finally he agreed to resend invoice with 5 year warranty clearly stated.  After numerous delays (he couldn't get to a fax machine, he faxed it but I never got it, etc.)  I finally got the new invoice--it still had 5 year warranty crossed out and 1 year written in.  By this time, I decided to just pay him to avoid any more back-and-forth, thinking to myself, "at least the stove is fixed" so I thought. My tenant later called me and said the stove had stopped working again.  I've called Jeff & Sons several times, left messages, etc.  Finally, I received a callback from David and we scheduled him to go back and repair the stove.  On the day of the appointment, not only did he not show, he didn't call to let anyone know.  After more phone calls, I finally got a text from him saying he had problems with his truck and his phone wasn't working. He asked me to retext the address info (that I had just texted him a few days ago) and he would reschedule.  Well, I sent the info and haven't heard back from him.  I also called both his cell and the office number, and no one answers.  And the stove still doesn't work. This is one of the worse experiences I've had with a business.
