At the first appointment I was quoted a price of $650. I explained that i really wanted a toilet seated as i had been going up the property to my daughters and using a portable potty chair for the past two months. I advised that I would be taking 3 days off work for this work to be completed, and Mr Higgins assured me he would probably be finished in an afternoon, depending on what he found. I also asked him to service 2 evaporative coolers, he stated that would be $65 a piece. He arrived at approximately 8:45-9:00 am with 3 workers, one of whom he stated was a floor person. Once they took the linoleum up, and they began taking up the floor and found three layers of plywood over dirt. Mr Higgins said that they needed to go get wood and would return to do the job. Mr Higgins stated that the additional work would bring the price of the work to $1,375. The floor man, Adam was very quick to get the floor down, stated that George would be back the next day to finish the floor and install the toilet. This was on Wednesday, 6/19. Mr. Higgins had kept telling me that Adam would be back on Thursday as he had to go to court for a traffic ticket. Mr Higgins did not come back after leaving to get the wood. Mr Higgins told me he would be bringing a trailer with him to haul away the broken toilet, the wood from the floor and the old vanity. Adam also assured me that they would haul the debris away after the job was finished. At 12:30 pm, I called Mr Higgins and he said he would be out on Friday in the afternoon, and would call before he came. On Friday I gave him until 1:30 before I called, he said he would be coming shortly, he need to go be the store to see if Home Depot had the vanity and faucet in stock. He arrived at about 3:00 pm, looked at the flooring and saw that it was an inch lower than the hallway flooring, but finally set my toilet so I could use it. Mr Higgins told me he would have Adam back out on Monday to finish the flooring, I reminded Mr Higgins that I could not be there on Monday, I had taken the three days off, this needed to be completed by Sunday at the latest. He called Adam and then told me they would be there in the afternoon and would call before he came. On Saturday, 6/22, I called Mr Higgins at 2:00 pm and asked what time he would be there, he said he told me around 3:00, but that Adam should be there soon. Adam showed up, with no materials at 3:00 pm, he advised me the worker with him had to be home, so George need to get there or he would have to leave. I had gone in the morning to Lowe's and bought a vanity and faucet, Adam put it together, but left the splash plate off. Mr Higgins arrived at about 4-4:30 with the wood for the bathroom floor. I had previously purchased the pads and new pumps for each cooler to be service, and another worker was on the roof servicing the cooler. Once the plywood was installed, Adam left and the worker that serviced my cooler came in and laid the floor, reset the toilet and set the vanity. Mr Higgins was watching the man work then coming out, tracking the glue through the house. When I came to look at it I noticed the slash plate was not attached, we looked for the 2 small plates with screws or no avail, it appears they were not in the box, Adam did not say they were missing. When they finished, it was about 8:00 pm, they went to my daughters and serviced her cooler. I paid George the additional $850. When he left, he did not take the debris from the work, never mentioned picking it up, it will cost me to take the debris to the dump, I will pay the additional $160 after deducting the money to take the items to the dump. All the workers and Mr Higgins were very nice, they were pulled in different directions due his inability to schedule his jobs appropriately. I will not use this company again.
