Recent Review: Steve can out fixed the problem and made some suggestions on other issues around the house. For the time Steve spent and helpful suggestions the price was very reasonable. Steve was very honest, things he thought were too much for him he said so and made suggestions.

Recent Review: Went very well.  Dan returned my initial contact call within a day I believe.  Quote took perhaps a week.  I did check up with him on status so a little persistence was in order but not hugely so.  Scheduled within a few days, with some limitations on my part. Crew of 3 showed up as scheduled.  Crew was friendly and enthusiastic.  Work performed was much above par, definitely met all my expectations. Crew was also very professional, and I mention this because I've been around construction people and contractors a lot and am aware of the crude and vulgar language, discussions and attitudes that can be prevalent.  This crew displayed none of this. Enjoyed the experience and would use Dan and his group again.

Business Description: In business in 2007 when I realized the satisfaction I received from working on one of my landlords houses and the other various projects that he had me do. It was then I realized that I needed to quit working for other companies as an employee and to stop being just a number. I also started this company so that I could spend extra time with my daughter and support her in the goals that she needed to achieve so that she could be where she wanted to be in life. So I dedicate all of my hard work and effort to her! Owner Operator. Cost determined by hour or by job. No travel charges within service area.

Recent Review: I called and requested an estimate and Pete Russo came out a few days later, right on time. He evaluated the repair items and developed a solution. He gave me a price which I thought was quite fair, then went out and got the necessary materials. The job took one full day in all. He has a creative and analytical approach to problem solving, is efficient and organized in his work, and very professional and pleasant. It is great to find somebody of Pete's caliber that actually wants to do small, not large, jobs.

Recent Review: We received our estimate for repair from Nick Morton very quickly and we arranged for the work the following week. This was a two person job so he brought in another reputable handyman service, Dave O'Brien with Folsom Home Repair. They were both great to work with. They explained the process and kept us informed as the job progressed. They raised the beam back up to level about 3/4 of an inch by using jacks, then cut new support blocks on the existing concrete piers which were in good shape. We could immediately tell a difference in how the floor looked and felt. They warned us before beginning that there may be drywall or tile grout cracks because they were raising the floor, but there was no damage from the repair. They did a great job at clean up, even cleaning up debris left by previous service people in the crawl space. We asked them to insulate some water pipes under the house, and they did without charging us.

Recent Review: Manuel came to our house to give us an estimate on replacing the front and back doors; he was on time, friendly and very knowledgeable about the work involved.  We knew nothing about doors, so he took the time to inform us about different kinds  of doors and their pros and cons.  He explained how he would install them, how long it would take and gave a reasonable price.  Although we had other bids, we chose Manuel because of his knowledge and experience.  Manuel did a great job installing the front door; we love it!  When he removed the back door he found dry rot, which required evaluation of the problem and  a new estimate. Again, the cost was reasonable, although scary, because it was impossible to access/see all the areas that might be destroyed and the cost could go up drastically.  We are happy to say that Manuel found LESS dry rot than he expected and he dropped the price accordingly.  Very honest!   We love the new back door ( including the new cat door)!   When Manuel came out to give us the door estimate, I learned he could repair our fence so I asked for an estimate.  Again, he assessed the necessary work carefully, trying to cut our costs with  suggestions that would not necessitate brand new fence.  We hired him and he did a professional, neat job.  His work areas were always safe and clean, during and after construction.   We will definitely hire Manuel again; he has a huge resume of construction experience and is so reliable.  With this in mind, we are keeping an ongoing list of repairs and fixes needed.

Recent Review: Mike arrived early at 8 am as promised to get started on the process as it gets hot in the attatic crawl space and wanted to get the job done in a timely manner. He was polite, detailed and very professional. During our initial consultation I could tell he took pride in his work and I was not disappointed. He did an excellent job and keep us up to date on his progress as he went along. He asked us questions if needed and did not assume. He did not disrupt our day and we did not disrupt his except to offer him a bottle of cold water here and there. The entire job took about 7 hours. Mike cleaned up his work area in both the bedroom and family room. The ceiling fans with/lights utilize a remote and they look fantastic. His cost to do the job was reasonable. It's a joy to be able to go into those rooms now and feel the breeze from the fans as opposed to always putting on the air conditioning. I would definitely recommend him for electrical as well as handyman work to family and friends going forward. I will use him for future needs electricity wise as well as handyman services. He is a very humble yet outstanding professional to do business with. My husband and I highly recommend his services.

Steve had come by to solve other problems before: fix a broken lock on my garage door, determine the best course as per making a fountain pump functional, coming up with an amazing scheme to make my crawl space humanely inaccessible to skunks...this guy is quite the find. His prices are reasonable, he is precise and determined without being overbearing, has a fine sense of humor, very easy to get along with. I just wish I could have contacted him when I first moved here.

It went very will.  Jerry showed up the day after my original call and we assesed what needed to be done in this small rental cottage.  The bedroom floor was very uneven and, after crawling about under the house Jerry deternined the problem was that a central joist was too high and the floor joists were not properly connected along the south edge of the structure.  These problems were corrected and the improvement in the floor was marked.  It is still not perfectly level but that would take some major reconstruction and it was agreed that this was more than needed.  The remainder of the levelling can be taken care of by some underlayment when next the room is carpeted.  The closet was originally a do-it-yourself job and a major eyesore.  It appeared a former owner had simply constructed a box of plywood, cut a hole in the bedroom wall and installed the box, covering the exterior with siding and installing a shelf and hanging bar inside.  There was no insulation, no interior sheetrock and the size of the closet box and the room opening was not anything near a standard size. There were no closet doors.  I had no idea how make this closet look better, accommodate a decent-looking door, and insulate what was essentially a big source of heat loss for the room.  Jerry solved the problem and he and his assistant set to work.  First they stripped out the old shelf and bar and lifted the carpet.  They insulated the walls with foam sheet insulation, covered the walls with sheetrock, taped and mudded them and essentially made the "box" look finished, new and clean.  Not only did this look good but there was an immediate improvement in the temperature of the room.  It was much warmer!  Then they proceeded to build a shallow frame around the closet opening that would accommodate a double set of standard folding doors.  This frame extended to the ceiling and created a two foot wide enclosed area at one end of the closet which nicely accomodated some shelves. This frame was faced with additional sheetrock and when completed looked like a narrow bump out in the wall.  The frame and wall were then painted to match the rest of the room, a closet shelving and rod system was installed inside the closet and the carpeting relaid to extend inside.  The finished project looks fantastic and vastly improved the appearance of the bedroom! Most of the work was done by Chris, Jerry's assistant, but Jerry kept track of what was going on and popped in often to see how things were progressing and make sure what I wanted was being done.  Both were very professional. They showed up on time, worked efficiently, did a great job and cleaned up after themselves,  All debris was removed.  After they finished there was almost nothing left for me to do except for a quick vacuuming of the room and even that was not absolutely necessary!

AKG Repair Solutions
Keith and Gloria arrived promptly as scheduled. They worked on the pocket door first. It  was difficult to open and stopped about 2 inches from closing,  making it impossible to lock. They removed the door trim to get the door out, replaced the hardware and re-hung the door. It took awhile because the door frame isn't square so they had to keep readjusting the hardware so it would hang flush to the door frame and lock. They were careful when removing the door trim, none of the pieces broke or cracked so they were able to put the trim back on in almost perfect condition. They offered to paint and fill the cracks around the trim but I chose to do it myself. After about an hour of my own time you can't even tell the trim was ever removed and the door works great, and even locks! They also repaired a very bad squeak in our hallway. The source of the squeak took a while to find. Keith was persistent and wouldn't stop until he found it and fixed it. He eventually found that one of the  walls wasn't secured tightly to the subfloor, so after several trips in and out of the crawl space he had it fixed. He had to removed chicken wire and insulation under the house, so it wasn't an easy fix but it is done and I am thrilled that the squeak is gone! I will definetly be calling them for additional repairs as needed and wil recommend him to friends and family.
