Quality Roofing
Recent Review: Matt and crew did a great job replacing our metal roof with a composition roof. He helped us choose a style and color, and helped us address a couple past problems related to melt drainage over our driveway. Great job - quality work, responsive, did what he said they'd do. Not only is our roof in great shape now, the whole exterior of the house looks better.

Recent Review: Quotation and followup were professional and responsive. The crew worked efficiently and the quality of work was excellent. All questions were addressed courteously and comprehensively. The final result has survived a major winter in excellent order. It looks great. While it wasn't inexpensive, there were no surprises and I feel we received good value. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Scott Roofing.

DTAHOE ROOFING CO
I was disappointed with the service although the I'm mostly satisfied with the outcome of the roof. Brian had replaced my shake roof some twenty years ago with a metal roof. Right away we started having problems with snow and ice wedging in the valleys where the roofline of the carport was at a right angle to the main house. The ice started crushing the ribs of the metal roof as it tried to slide off the main roof onto the carport. Most winters I would get up on the carport and remove as much snow as I could safely but in 2011 I could not keep up with it. The accumulated weight finally resulted in pushing the carport away from the house. It didn't crush it but there was a couple inch separation From the house. This was the excuse I needed to replace the carport with a full garage. I spent a year getting an insurance settlement, TRPA site assesment, and building plans completed before starting the project in the summer of 2012. Luckily that winter had little snow so I dodged a bullet. I agreed to have Brian do the work since he did it originally and had the supplier to match the existing roof materials. Unfortunately Brian is difficult to contact, his office doesn't have regular hours and I almost always had to leave voicemail messages and wait for a call back. I arranged for the roof in September and wanted to get it on before the snow hit. My building contractors had the roof deck ready by the end of September so I was hoping to get it finished before November. This probably wasn't a big priority for Brian since it was a simple job of replacing the sheets on one half of the existing house that would extend over the garage which would now be one single surface with no valleys. He had the plans and dimensions and measured to order the correct materials. He had told me it would be something like two weeks from the time of the order. A month went by then he sent someone to remeasure. The order had not gone in until early November. They finally came out and got the felt installed before the snow came but I had to clear off two 6 inch storms before they got around to completing the installation. The felt was saturated with some melting dripping through the plywood deck even though I cleared off the snow. They did apply a second layer of felt to appease me but I was still concerned that I might see some mold if that moisture was just covered up and not allowed to dry out completely. He kept assuring me it wouldn't be a problem. The actual installation was only a one day job and after it was done they had been short one sheet which had to be ordered and installed later. As a result it was well into December before it was finished and delayed my final inspection until spring since there was snow on the ground. Fortunately I haven't seen any signs of mold yet but I'm still crossing my fingers. Maybe if you have a bigger project he will pay more attention to you.

DD & D Roofing & Sheet Metal
As I recall, I had to call twice before getting a response. The manager was professional and polite. He scheduled an estimate visit and did, in fact, visit our site, took measurements and photos. Although I left a contact phone number, Dand D Roofing left a message on an alternative phone for me to call and receive the quotation. I tried to contact them twice and left messages. That's the last I saw or heard of Dand D Roofing. I ended up going with another contractor.

CTom Goldston Roofing Inc
The original installation by Tom was excellent, good price, on time and an good job overall, i originally gave him an A. But unfortunately follow up on a warranty item has been non existent. The snow brakes on my metal roof that were originally installed all fell off the first winter allowing snow to crash down on the lower level. I have tried for two years to get him out to look at and resolve the problem with no luck.

AScott Roofing LLC
This company is outstanding from start to finish.  Our contact person for the job was Mr. Francisco Munoz, who gave the initial estimate and got back to me within hours any time I had a question.  The price of the estimate was one of the most competitive we found in Reno, and Scott stuck to it, with no hidden or extra charges in the end.  Scott's website provides a list of properties they have installed roofs on, so I drove around town and saw what the different grades of shingles looked like on different houses before picking the one I wanted.  When the actual job began, I was impressed with the professionalism of the work crew and especially the foreman, Alberto.  There were seven or eight workers on the site for two full days--with steady, but not hurried, work they finished the roof within the two-day estimate Francisco gave me, allowing my family to plan our lives easily around the disruption that major construction can cause. The final product is beautiful, and the process of making it happen was smooth and professional the entire time.  I can't recommend this company highly enough--they are excellent.

AEast Fork Roofing
Odd to give a roofer such high marks, but as a business, a service provider, and knowledge of the product, East Fork Roofing is solid. I've known I needed to replace the roof on a rental. I live out of the area, have a property manager and I ask a lot of questions. We got 3 bids as is typical. We look for the best value, not the cheapest, because we want our tenants happy and the work to be done right, once. A couple of things that really worked for me: 1) EFR does a 2 step bid. The 1st is via satellite image and the 2nd, if accepted, is done on site. I talked to Mike D extensively about this and it really makes sense to keep their costs in line and service high. I even had my contractor preview the eaves etc. before having their on-site inspection done and the findings were identical. 2) They over communicate and are systematic (Jacky rocks!). I liked this because at each step of the way they had a plan, they shared the plan, and they worked the plan. Any changes to the plan were discussed and agreed to. (I am not used to this level of service with most contractors. Yet, it is the way it's supposed to be and I like it.) 3) They know their product and helped redirect me to the optimal product for our property. We discussed light tile roofs, architectural tiles, a metal roof, a roof fan, new base plywood sheathing etc. I even asked if they installed the overlaps and troughs according to the manufacture's standards (that I saw on youtube). Because we got 3 proposals and we searched the web, it was easy to verify their info. They were spot on accurate on all fronts. My questions (over multiple calls) were welcomed, and they were honest about what roof work they do well and best and what kind of roof work they would want to pass on. I liked their candor. 4) They photograph the work in progress. I wanted to be on site. After day 1's summary, there was no need. I could see the demo, the plywood work, the sheathing, the shingles install. In addition, this roof had a really tricky over hang limiting access. And yes, they figured out how to do it. It looks great and better yet.... it works with no issue. (read item 3). (my friend in Reno checked their work. After day 2, there was no longer a need for my friend to drop by and check things out.) 5) After all this I was concerned about the price..... good news, they are clear about pricing...... before starting work! Having worked with a lot of change orders and contractor surprises, these guys were straight. (read item 2). And No surprises. They knew what I needed for the roof and priced it accordingly - with confidence. Roofing is a tricky business. I know there are other good roofers in Reno. I've interviewed them. But for the other 2 roofs I have to do over the next year, I am going with Mike and team. They they run a solid & predictable business process, the roof looks great and more importantly, I don't expect to have to do anything with the roof again for 40 years. Nice Job East Fork Roofing.
