Recent Review: I like the finished product. It's good. Actually a lot of the time I wasn't here because I was babysitting grand babies. So, I was pleased when I came home and saw what they had done. I think they were professional and they were always on time. Their price is pretty comparable to other companies.

FSears Home Improvement Products
WE HAVE A SEARS HOME.  ALL OF MY MAJOR APPLIANCES ARE KENMORE.  THE QUALITY OF THE KENMORE APPLIANCES OVER THE YEARS MISLED ME TO BELIEVE THAT THEIR HOME IMPROVEMENT DEPARTMENT WOULD BE AS RELIABLE AND EFFICIENT.  I WATED A LONG TIME TO HAVE THE KITCHEN REMODELED.  THIS WAS NOT A RUSHED DECISION. WE DECIDED ON SEARS BECAUSE - WELL - THEY ARE SEARS.  THEY WERE A LITTLE PRICIER THAN OTHER PLACES WE CHECKED BUT - IT WAS SEARS.  WE FIGURED THAT THE NAME WOULD STAND BEHIND THE QUALITY.  WE WERE TOLD THE GRANITE COUNTERTOPS WOULD HAVE A TWENTYFIVE YEAR WARRANTY.  THE CABINETS WOULD HAVE A TEN OR FIFTEEN YEAR WARRANTY.  THE SALESPERSON WOULD HAVE TO DOUBLE CHECK AND GET BACK TO US. WE WERE TOLD THAT NO MONEY WOULD BE DUE UNTIL THE WORK WAS COMPLETED AND WE WOULD NOT BE REQUIRED TO SIGN OFF ON THE WORK UNTIL IT WAS COMPLETED IN ITS ENTIRETY.  A FEW WEEKS LATER WE WERE TOLD THAT 30% DOWN WOULD BE REQUIRED BEFORE THEY COULD START.  THE SALESMAN APOLOGIZED AND STATED THAT THE COMPANY'S POLICIES HAD CHANGED SINCE WE SIGNED OUR AGREEMENT. THEY SHOWED UP ON TIME AND COMPLETED THE MAJORITY OF THE WORK ON SCHEDULE.  THE COMPANY SEARS SUBLETTED THE WORK TO DID NOTHING TO KEEP THE MESS IN ONE ROOM.   THEY DID NOT HANG ANY BARRIERS OVER THE DOORS TO KEEP THE DUST/MESS CONFINED. OUR ENTIRE HOME WAS A DISASTER BY THE TIME THEY LEFT.  \WE WERE REQUIRED TO SIGN OFF AS HAVING THE JOB BEING COMPLETED EVEN THOUGH BASEBOARDS AND MINOR ITEMS WERE NOT COMPLETED.  A CHECK WAS ALSO REQUIRED.  I HAD TILE INSTALLED AFTER THE SEARS CREW LEFT.  DURING THE INSTALLATION PROCESS, I HAD CONCERNS AND QUESTIONS,  I CALLED OUR PROJECT COORDINATOR.  SHE WAS NEVER READILY AVAILABLE AND SELDOM RETURNED MY CALLS. A FEW MONTHS LATER,  I NOTICED "WARPING" IN TWO OF THE LOWER CABINETS.  OUR PROJECT COORDINATOR AS WELL AS OUR SALESPERSON NO LONGER WORKED FOR THE COMPANY.  SEARS SENT OUT THEIR DISTRICT PRODUCTION MANAGER, DISTRICT SALES MANAGER AND THE HEAD INSTALLATION GUY.  THESE THREE TOLD ME IT WAS CAUSED BY OUR OUTSIDE SPRINKLER SYSTEM, OR MAYBE THE PLUMBING OR MAYBE I WAS NOT USING THE "SPRAYER" PROPERLY., OR ........WHATEVER.  JUST THAT IT WAS NOT THEIR FAULT.  A SEARS "TECH" SHOWED UP AND SAWED HOLES IN THE BOTTOM OF MY NEW CABINETS TO DO A MOISTURE TEST.  A WEEK LATER, HE FOUND THAT TWO WATER LINES UNDER THE SINK WERE OVERTIGHTENED AND LEAKING.  HE REPLACED THE WATER LINES, AND PIECED THE TWO LOWER CABINETS BACK TOGETHER. AND YES, THEY LOOK PIECED TOGETHER.  WE ALSO HAD PROBLEMS GETTING THE CITY TO SIGN OFF ON THE INSPECTION PERMIT DUE TO THE PLACEMENT OF THE OUTLET BOXES.  THE SEARS REPRESENTATIVE INFORMED ME THIS WAS NOT THEIR PROBLEM.  AFTER SEVERAL CALLS, SEARS DID SEND SOMEONE OUT TO FIX THE PROBLEM. JUST TO BE CLEAR, THE ELECTRICIANS SEARS HIRED TO DO THE WIRING FROM THE ELECTRICAL PANEL TO THE KITCHEN WERE AMAZING.  THEY WERE HELPFUL, PROFESSIONAL AND DID A GREAT JOB.  THE ISSUES I HAD (HAVE) WERE/ARE INSIDE. LESS THAN TWO YEARS LATER, THE FACING HAS STARTED COMING OFF SEVERAL CABINET DOORS/DRAWERS.  IN ADDITION, A PIECE BROKE OFF THE GRANITE COUNTER TOP. I PLACED A CALL TO SEARS.  THEY SENT SOMEOUT OUT TO LOOK OVER MY COMPLAINT(S).  WHILE APPEARING TO BE CONCERNED, IT WAS APPARANT THAT HE WAS MORE INTERESTED IN SAVING MONEY FOR SEARS.  HE ALSO LOOKED AT THE GRANITE TOP AND STATED THAT THEY MIGHT BE ABLE TO FIX IT.  BEFORE LEAVING, HE INFORMED ME THAT PAYMENT OF $100.00 FOR THE SERVICE CALL WAS REQUIRED. A FEW WEEKS LATER, ERIC FROM THE GRANITE COUNTER TOP COMPANY CALLED.  HE SHOWED UP EARLY ANDTOLD US THAT THE CHIP IN THE COUNTERTOP WAS NOT FROM BEING HIT.  HE COULD TELL THIS FROM THE LOOK OF THE INSIDE OF THE GRANITE WHERE THE PIECE HAD BROKEN OFF.  THAT IT WAS MOST LIKELY A FLAW IN THE GRANITE.  HE REPAIRED IT (QUITE NICELY) AND LEFT.  ABOUT TWENTY MINUTES LATER, ERIC CALLED AND INFORMED ME THAT PAYMENT OF $150.00 WAS REQUIRED AS SEARS HAD INFORMED HIS COMPANY THAT THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE REPAIR UNDER THEIR WARRANTY. ALSO, SEARS USES A "COVER-UP" PEN, (MUCH LIKE THE KIND YOU CAN PURCHASE IN ANY DEPARTMENT STORE TO HIDE SCRATCHES IN FURNITURE).  UNFORTUNATELY, THE ONE THAT WAS USED ON OUR CABINETS STARTED TO DISCOLOR JUST A FEW MONTHS LATER.  THE COVERED-UP CHIPS AND CRACKS IN THE CABINET BECAME VERY NOTICEABLE, INCLUDING A BROKEN BASEBOARD.  WHEN THE WIND BLOWS, I GET INSULATION FROM THE ATTIC ON MY COUNTERTOPS.  THIS IS FROM A HOLE LEFT IN THE CEILING BETWEEN THE UPPER CABINETS.  THE INTERIOR BOARD BETWEEN THE TWO CORNER CABINETS HAS FALLEN OUT SEVERAL TIMES AND WILL NO LONGER STAY IN POSITION. WE DID TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE SEARS FINANCING.  THIS WAS ALSO A PRICIER OPTION.  I CHOSE THAT OPTION SO THAT I HAVE THAT CONSTANT REMINDER OF WHAT A POOR CHOICE I MADE. I DIDCOMPLETE THE SEARS SURVEY IMMEDIATELY.  I DID NOT MAIL THE SURVEY.  I THOUGHT IT WOULD, AT FIRST, BE CONSIDERED "BUYER"S REMORSE".  SO I WAITED.  THEN I STARTED MAKING PAYMENTS.  I STILL DID NOT RETURN THE SEARS SURVEY.    I HAVE LOOKED AT IT SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS AND MY ORIGINAL OPINIONS HAVE NOT CHANGED MUCH. WHEN WE RECEIVED OUR WARRANTY INFORMATION IN THE MAIL, WE FOUND THE CABINETS HAVE A FIVE YEAR WARRANTY.  THERE IS NO MENTION OF A SERVICE CALL FEE OR REPAIR FEE IN ANY OF THE DOCUMENTS WE RECEIVED.  THE REMODEL WAS "COMPLETED" IN MID AUGUST.  THE CITY DID NOT SIGN OFF ON THE PERMIT UNTIL 01/07/2010. YES, MY KITCHEN LOOKS NICER THAN BEFORE THE REMODEL, BUT THE QUALITY IS JUST NOT THERE, ESPECIALLY FOR THE PRICE.  (I DO LIKE THE GRANITE),  THIS IS NOT BUYER'S REMORSE. I HAVE TAKEN EVERY OPPORTUNITY TO LET OTHERS KNOW WHAT A POOR CHOICE I MADE IN LETTING SEARS DO MY REMODEL. INSTEAD OF KMART BEING LIFTED TO THE SEARS NAME QUALITY, SEARS LOWERED ITSELF THE THE KMART NAME QUALITY. OH YEAH---THAT FREE TRIP FOR BOTH OF US TO ANYWHERE IN THE UNITED STATES INCLUDING ALASKA AND HAWAII????  WE DID NOT RECEIVE THE INFORMATION UNTIL MARCH 2010 AND FOUND IT WAS COMPANION AIRFARE TO ONE OF VERY FEW DESTINATIONS.  AND IF YOU DON'T GOLF, YOU CHOICES REALLY DECREASE. TO RECAP - I HAVE A REALLY PRICY, FAIR QUALITY KITCHEN REMODEL.  DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND VISIT LOWE'S OR HOME DEPOT.  YOU WILL GET THE SAME QUALITY, A LOWER PRICE AND MAYBE SOMEONE WHO CARES.

ABlue River Cabinetry Kitchen & Bath
They did a great job and we were real happy with it. They were highly recommended and they had a display that we really like and so we pretty much had the same thing done in our kitchen. My wife just like the combination of the countertops, the cabinets, and everything they had on display and it was time for us to update anyway, so we liked it and said we'd like to do the same thing. I think they did a really nice job. I suspect that they have been more expensive than some of the other people but it was not an issue with us because we really like what they did. They were great.

We had used Blue River Cabinetry Kitchen and Bath once before. Everything was good except they just took a long time. They just finished and they started in December. The work is really well done.

We are at the end of the kitchen remodel with Gregg.  Gregg has helped so much and did more than what we had in the estimate.  Jake, who works with Gregg, is doing most of the work and he is so professional and is not rushing through just to finish the job.  I am so happy with the work.  I will defiantly be using these guys again for the bathrooms.  Thank you for my new kitchen.

Never heard back from him to do work. This is not the first review on this site where he has left customer high and dry (or in my case damp). He came out to see what the problem was, charged me $200 to clean debris off of roof. Spent about 30 minutes with him writing up for an estimate on the ceiling dry wall replacement that had gotten wet due to a leak and an extra kitchen remodel. Said I would get quote in 1-2 days and could do work that week. NEVER heard back from him. I reached out but got no response. Now my ceiling is starting to show mold.

CStockdale Kitchen & Bath
Initial timeline was for 4 to 5 weeks for the remodel project. Total project was 8 weeks. My wife had to continuously call to find out when the contractor was going to be back to work on the cabinets, the flooring, the countertops, the painting, etc. Contractor would work for 2 or 3 hours and then go home and not return for days at a time. It felt like we were a side job. The contractor failed to pull a permit for the electrical work. This was discovered by an inspector who happened to be visiting my home to sign off the work done on a new solar panel installation (different project). When the inspector noticed that the kitchen remodel was under way, he asked the contractor for a copy of the permit and the contractor said that he didn't know that he needed one. This cost us an additional week delay in the project and was a bit disturbing. The contractor was also willing to leave holes in the sheetrock on the wall behind the cabinets and when we commented about the holes (baseball sized) he said that nobody would see them once the cabinets were installed. We argued that the holes weren't there when the old cabinets were installed and that they needed to be filled in prior to hanging the new cabinets. Regarding the quotation for the project: the contractor (owner of Stockdale Kitchen and Bath) told us during the prejob meeting to discuss pricing that he could do a granite countertop for between $1000 and $1500. He also said that it would cost another $1000 for a tiled back splash. Once the project was underway, we were told that the dollar figures didn't include material. We also found out after the project was underway that the contractor did not plan to paint the kitchen and didn't include that in the price. We had to pay additional for that to be done or else would have had to do the painting ourself. The finish work was not good and everywhere the cabinets mated up against a wall or ceiling, you could see crooked paint lines. This was because the contractor installed the cabinets before painted the walls and ceiling. Several of the cabinet shelves didn't line up and one of the lazy susans wouldn't open all the way because of hitting the adjacent stove. When it came time to install our new refrigerator, we literally had to force it into the cabinet opening because the contractor designed the opening for the exact width of the refrigerator. There is zero clearance on the sides of the refrigerator. Throughout the project, the communication was very poor on the part of the contractor. For each issue we raised regarding the quality of the work, the canned response from the contractor was that it was "industry standard". This coming from a man who bragged at the outset about how he went above and beyond what most other contractors do as far as quality work. The only thing that went right with this project was that the cabinets arrived on time and as ordered. I would not recommend this contractor to anyone.
