Recent Review: My wife and I were out of the state when our housekeeper called to report no water at the house. Our water is supplied by a onsite well. She called Great America Pump Company (GAP) located in Oroville, CA. to investigate. They were unable to properly troubleshoot the well system. The problem was a irrigation line break of which they never discovered. I found it the same day I returned home.  Had they simply isolated the system by closing separately each of the two valves at the wellhead and observing water pressure drop on the existing pressure guage, the issue would have been known and the irrgation system could have been isolated until repairs could be made. (In response GAP stated in writing they were not responsible for any problems or repairs that were not at the well site.) The property was without water for a week. My housekeeper requested water be brought it and GAP was unresponsive on several occasions. Just prior to arriving home, I called GAP requesting water and they called a local company for water they knew was not certified as potable and brought in with a tank truck that was not certified for potable water as stated by the water service owner. Upon our return, my wife became ill with a stomach virus and was treated at a clinic. For a week, the well pump ran continuously resulting in overload as stated by GAP. They then attempted to pull the pump but was unable due to an existing rock partially collapsing of the liner above the pump. They lost a camera in the well stating it was (swept away into a cavern) which of course did not exist. They placed a "used pump" on top of the existing pump leaving my well with only half the depth and part of the liner. A few weeks later the well pump begin surging. (partial loss of suction). Bottom line, GAP never discovered the leak, left my well in nonworking condition, sold us a used well pump, and charged us for a new one of a different brand as indicated on the bill. Due to GAP's incompetence, I called in Precision Pump who discovered that the pump was not the one we were billed for and was unable to remove the old pump with their equipment. It was determined the well needed a driller in a last ditch effort to salvage the well. David & Sons was able to remove the old pump and liner and salvage the well. Precision Pump returned my well to previous working conditions. This is a synopsis of events and not in any particular order. I have been asking only for compensation of which has been denied. I have also refused to pay GAP until this matter is resolved. I have reported this incident to GAP's Bond company which at this time will not make a decision when facts are being disputed. I am now working with the Contractors Board attempting to establish facts and favorable decision.

Recent Review: Free quotes are the best. The plumber was amazing. Sorted through a couple problem that came up... Like a main water line inexplicably hiding under the sewer line. I would 100% use Earl's Plumbing again.

Recent Review: They're a father & son business. They were out within the next day or so from me contacting them. They responded immediately within an hour or so of me contacting them. They came out on the weekend. Alan was clean, courteous, explained everything that he was doing. He'll give you the manual if it's a new pump with all of the guarantees. He writes everything out on the invoice and writes any pertinent information on the pressure tank itself. He cleans up well, too. I've got no fault with the work and I would recommend them in a heartbeat to anybody.

AEarl's Performance Plumbing
It was the start of a holiday weekend and I walked outside to a flood in my backyard. Water was gushing up through a large hole underground near the well pump. I had no water to my home or for my livestock and it was heading upwards towards 95 degrees. For four hours I called around trying to find someone who would come help me to no avail. Finally, I called Earl's Plumbing, expecting another voice message, but got an actual human being! He said he could have someone out to my home within half an hour. Travis showed up promptly and got right to work identifying the problem (a broken large-bore PVC pipe underground). He gave me a quote to repair it and had to go get the supplies; which was not easy on this holiday weekend. Travis finished the repairs and we had running water again! He then took the time to answer our questions about another plumbing job we were wanting to have done. We were very happy with how things went.

AMoe's Plumbing
Moe and his worker showed up within two hours at the agreed upon time with two service vehicles. They immediatly diagnosed the problems and from my earlier description of the issues had the tools and parts on hand for a complete repair of every issue. Moe was very professional, honest, knowledgable, and polite as was his worker. The cost was very fair and everything was repaired better than we expected. I have been a real estate broker for 30 years and have dealt with many plumbers in my day and now, after using Moe's Plumbing, I won't be shopping for a plumber ever again. I live in Durham in a large home and my only regret is that I used a neighbor plumbing contractor instead of Moe's when I built my home.

CEarl's Performance Plumbing
Water was backing up into my tub and shower, and clear water flowed from my cleanout when I opened it. I didn't know if it was a clog in the main drain pipe or a problem with my septic system. I called Earls because of the plumbing services reviewed on angies list, and because, in addition to plumbing repairs, their own web site said: < For complete service, maintenance, and repair of your septic system and leach field, call Earl's Performance Plumbing today. At no charge we will send a technician out to perform a complete septic tank and septic system anaylsis to determine the condition of your septic tank, leach field, leach lines, and related plumbing. All of our work is backed by our 100% satisfaction guarantee - fixed right or it's free, so call now: 343.0330. - Septic tank repairs -Leach field inspections & repairs -Septic system maintenance -Escrow inspections -Sewer hook ups -Excavating and backfill Call Now 343.0330 > I figured I was covered... I described my problem, and said that I didn't know if it was a clogged drain pipe or my septic. They were very nice, and seemed professional, and prompt. They sent a nice, polite, repair man in a couple of hours, who snaked out my cleanout, told me the drain was clear, and then told me my septic tank was full, that was the problem, and they don't handle that. He told me I would have to have my septic tank pumped out. 20 minutes and $118 later I have to find someone who can actually do the job, having wasted the time and money. I mistakenly thought that complete service, maintenance and repair of your septic system meant they could fix my septic if it needed it. Update on 4/10/14: I had another company come up to pump out the septic today. When they lifted the lid, they found that the DRAIN was clogged, they showed me the clog, a tangle of roots, I watched them clear the drain. I watched the water, etc. run out. They told me that my backup was caused by the clog. So Earl's did not even do what they charged me for. I feel like I was taken advantage of: -either the technician did not know how to snake out a drain, or -did not want to do the work it would take to clear the drain, or...? UPDATE 4/22/14 I received a note with an apology and a refund of my charges from Earl's, which was very professional, and based upon this I would definitely try to use them if I had an indoor plumbing problem in the future.

FEarl's Performance Plumbing
After spending 20 minutes digging, James told me I didn't have a leach field and called in another plumber to check it out.  All this time he had a leach field map which I had given him and he said he was POSITIVE there was no leach field even though I had asked him to refer to the leach field map several times.  So he ordered a backhoe to come in and do a soil perc test for a new leach field.  Red flags started popping up and after all this I hired someone who found the leach line in FIFTEEN minutes.  My only conclusion was that James had taken the pipe leading from the tank to the leach field.  The other person with him and been compacting soil with the shovel at one point and now I know why.   I halted all contact with Earls and paid a real plumber 192.00 to connect my tank to my leach field.   After doing research on the Butte County website I find out that no soil perc test is necessary if there has ever been a leach field, which the county confirmed there had.  I then find out that Earl's is not a certified leach field installer for the county.  I have almost 1000.00 worth of repairs in my backyard because of this.  I had 3 giant holes to fill in, sod to replace a sidewalk to replace. In the end Earl's told me I didn't have to pay the invoice.  I have a recording of it saved on my hard drive.  In the end they need to pay me all the damage they did.
