Recent Review: We had to meet a deadline for our insurance company and owner was very accommodating as far as scheduling us in to meet the deadline. They were prompt and reliable. The owner was pleasant to deal with and explained our options clearly. Owner was here supervising and working for most of the time. Their price was extremely competitive and we are satisfied with the result. We have not gone through a rainy season yet, however, so do not know how they will respond if we should have a problem. They installed skylights which we purchased online ourselves, and saved us quite a bit over having a skylight installation company do it (we had an estimate from one.) We have had only one small problem, which has been that we wanted different diffusers for the solar tubes, and have contacted them several times since the job was completed, but have not gotten what was promised. They were so reasonably priced that overall the small problem has been worth dealing with.

Recent Review: Quality workmanship at an affordable price.  Several of our neighbors have used him and recommended him.  In two and half days, they removed old shake roof, replaced some damaged wood (minimal), put down new felt and new 30 year composition roof.  They were prompt, efficient, courteous, and paid attention to detail.  They painted all the vents emerging from the roof to match the roof.  Finished off the job by using a leaf blower to clean the roof and the gutters.  Also swept up all the debris around the house.

Business Description: Specializing in home and commercial reroofing and repair we have over 30 years experience as roofing contractors on the Central Coast. From Monterey to Santa Barbara, Central Coast Roofing can service all your roofing and waterproofing needs. We specialize in torch down roofing, a process that utilizes heat to literally melt the base of the roofing material to the roof to create a long lasting weatherproof barrier even on flat roofs of decks to create a permanent waterproof seal. We are experts in tile and real slate. This type of roof is the most beautiful and durable roofing material known to man. For centuries, it’s been the roofing material of choice for the world’s greatest buildings. In fact, some slate roofs have lasted for literally hundreds of years. We offer PVC roofing systems. PVC roofing materials are a highly-engineered, flexible, thermoplastic membrane manufactured using an ultraviolet-resistant polyvinyl chloride and a DuPont™ Elvaloy® KEE (ketone ethylene ester) formulation. It provides excellent weathering characteristics, high tensile strength and long-term flexibility. It also exhibits excellent resistance to harsh chemicals and industrial pollutants. We also offer installation of composition shingles. Composition shingles are a good choice for a clean look at an affordable price. Higher-quality versions made from asphalt or fiberglass shingles offer a more durable option and may be available with recycled content. Composition shingles come in a large selection of types, brands and colors. Versatile, they adapt easily to different applications. They are relatively easy to install, and in some applications can be nailed in place over an existing roof. They require low maintenance and can be walked on without damaging the material. Most brands offer Class A fire protection. We stand behind our work and warranty labor for up to five years and on some systems we can offer a 20yr. no dollar limit warranty on labor and materials. We offer roofing maintenance plans, insurance inspection and emergency leak repair. Additional contact name - Mitch Green.

Recent Review: Paul is owner of this typical "mom and pop" operation and was very responsive from initial call to completion of job. After getting bids from two of the largest roofing companies in Santa Marie, a neighbor referred me to Paul. His bid was significantly lower and after chatting with my neighbor and looking at their roof, I decided to give Paul the job. Paul and his demolition team of eight arrived with dump truck on the morning as scheduled. By end of Day 1 the roof was removed and areas around the house were cleaned. Then Paul and wife Jill went to work. By end of Day 2, necessary repairs were made (at no extra charge), underlayment was installed as were about half the shingles. By noon on Day 3 the job was done. This was my first re-roofing experience and I was worried about the quality of work, but particularly about the fact that I was doing it during a very rainy winter season. Paul assured me there was nothing to worry about. He picked a time between storms and followed-though. He and wife Jill were coordinated, cordial and responsible. The other providers warned me that there would likely be extra charges once the old roof was removed, but Paul said that unless there was a serious problem, he'd just take care of it and he did. It's hard to imagine that a re-roofing job in the middle of winter could be a positive experience, but it was. My suggestion would be for anyone considering a new roof to call Paul at PC Roofing.

Recent Review: Centaur roofing installed a roof on my primary residence located in Templeton, CA 93465 during the 2nd and 3rd week of October 2008. Centaur roofing was paid immediately upon completion of project. It rained two weeks later and leaked inside my house in many places, at least 5-10 different water penetrations into my home. Centaur roofing was called right away and advised his job failed. Nikolaus Balzer the sole proprietor came back over and spread some sealant on a few seams were two sheets of roll roofing meet, and then said we were all set and everything was fixed properly. Not long after he ?repaired? his job failure it rained again and leaked again with no improvement all of the same spots were leaking. He kept stating that ?this is so weird I did everything perfect I don?t know how it could be leaking? and ?there must be a failure in the roofing material?. Then we called a manufacture rep from Certainteed Christopher Lomax, he was able to come and inspect our job. He came and inspected the job and assured me and my wife that there was no failure in his product and the roll roofing was not installed properly. In his words ?the edges where the roofing material meets the flashing needs to be bonded with a smaller more precise jewelers torch to be done properly?. During this review of the job nikolaus was present and had discounted and disagreed with chris?s recommendations on how to properly fix the leaks. Chris was not willing to make a judgement and say this roof failed due to poor workmanship but he said there was no failure in the material he reps and as far as I can tell the only thing left is workmanship. To the best of my knowledge the recommended method of repair was not followed when we gave nick another chance to repair the leaking roof he just installed. Nick then wanted more money to spend on labor and materials to repair the roof and we declined because we were not confident that this would actually get us a fixed roof. When the roof leaked the water damaged newly installed insulation and forced us to delay other sub contractors inline to install drywall. The total delay was over 30 days the last week in October and all of November 2008. I took several pictures of the damage and can provide copies
