Recent Review: What do you do when you have to get a 400 pound cast iron bathtub from the garage to a bathroom, install the plumbing for a shower and the drain for the newly installed tub, have a leaky connection near the water meter, and a poorly soldered (and therefore, leaky) pipe near the shutoff valve by the house that the (intrepid, but amateur) homeowner tried to fix himself? Call Assure Plumbing, that's what! I hired them through the Angie's List email system, after which we traded a couple of phone calls to agree on a scheduled date and time. A couple of days later, Carlos, Esteban, and Eric rang my door bell, right on time. After I showed them what needed to be done and we completed the necessary paperwork, the three men got right to work. After they carefully maneuvered the heavy tub into place, they roughed in the plumbing for the tub and shower, necessitating trips under the house and a display of Esteban's expert soldering abilities. I do lots of my own handyman-type of work around the house, but I never could have done what they did with that tub installation! Then, they turned their attention to the leaky pipe fitting near the water meter in the driveway. They replaced the shut-off valve which had become impossible to turn after about 50 years, and hooked everything back together. That was a tedious and messy job because they had to lean into a small, muddy hole in a concrete driveway to fix something that could have only been made worse if I had attempted to do the project myself. Great work, gentlemen! Turning the water on provided the scariest moment of truth...and of course, the house shutoff pipe and valve that I had tried to fix myself was leaking. Esteban, master pipe-fitter and soldering expert, got right to work undoing what I had done, and in no time everything was put together properly and better than ever. And now I have a shiny, new pressure regulator, too! The water was turned on once again, and after rerouting yet another valve in the garage that I had worked on myself (of course!) a few days earlier, everything worked just like it should! Next time I have a plumbing problem, I'm going to call Assure Plumbing...and you should too.
