Recent Review: . I found the company on Angie's List and was impressed with reviews. They were able to schedule an appointment for next day (this was not an emergency situation). I got a call to say when they would be here and arrived right on time (within a time frame I had set). Two men came because one learned how to program keypad. They were both very professional and very nice. They did the work quickly and had me try out the door openers on the keypad and in my car.. Noticed my security screen door lock was loose and upside down so fixed that at no charge. I forgot that a security check came with it but I received suggestions for securing my house. I would give then A+ if I could. Absolutely would call again.

Recent Review: They didn’t charge me for the equipment and they gave me the keypad all for just $99. The installation portion of it was quick and easy. The representative who came to the house was knowledgeable. The monthly fees are about $50. Their customer support is 100% excellent! They are definitely better ADT.

Recent Review: It was a challenged. The best alarm system is a hard wired alarm system. I wanted to keep the one I have. I had experienced many difficulties with Protection 1, many, many, many and had to buy out my contract. Protection 1 is fradulent. deceptive and needs to be out of business. They put a and quot;d0and quot; code on my motherboard/panel. It was no good. The system was not Protection One's. It was bought and fully paid for by the prior owner of my home.. However, I was unable to use my home alarm. Why? Because Protection 1 put a programming lock: and quot;dOand quot; Dialer off--which actually ruins--destroys the system. I left it that way for years because it was a bad subject that I did not want to revisit. My neighborhood suffers from break-ins. We have a Neighborhood Watch and a Homeowners Association but the burglaries continue. Someone tried to enter my home from the side gate. My German Shepherd scared them away but my other dogs were running around the neighborhood and I was called at work. I came home. It took me about 45 minutes. My dogs were rounded up by well meaning neighbors--thank you, God; they are my family. With that, I decided to deal with the alarm issue again. It was with shear dread; that I must revisit the scene of ruin, intentionally performed by Protection 1. With Angie's List help I found Dave of CSV Systems. Soft spoken Dave, a sole proprietor. He would rewire my system and not complain and not try to sell me on wireless. He promised, and he used the word: promise, to get my system up and running. He did. We did have a few blips. But as in any good relationship we worked thorough the issues. They were minor blips--keypad, open door and ready prompt but he immediately fixed them. All is well, thanks to Dave! I truly mean that! It was a most difficult situation but now I can feel safe in my home and away from my home. He also provides the monitoring of my system and no contract. Thank you Lord for bringing Dave into my life.--I feel blessed

Reviews in Madison to Install Keypad Lock

ADelta Door Company
I recently moved into an older place with an old garage door opener. The old opener and the one remote worked, but I needed a second remote and a keypad for the exterior. I had checked the local and quot;big-boxand quot; hardware stores for such items, but from the packaging descriptions, it looked like the newer items were not compatible with my older opener. When I saw on Angie's List that the Delta Door shop was just a mile away, I drove over to see if they could help. They had a remote on the shelf that was compatible and they even opened the box and showed me how to program it (it was simple). It was also a few dollars cheaper than the remote I had seen in the hardware stores. They were out-of-stock of the compatible keypad, but because it was already on order and due in a few days, I said I would just come back for it. But they insisted on delivering it to the house after it came in, and they did! The keypad was also simple to program and install (two screws), and was a little cheaper than the and quot;big boxand quot; price.

The owner/operator called me when he was on the way and showed up on time to do a big job, namely rekey 14 locks and make a keypad lock for the front door. He did a fantastic job and then had me try each lock to make sure they worked - which they did.  He came back a few days later to install a keypad lock on the front door and was on time for that appointment. He did not charge me a service call for the second visit. He was friendly, courteous and professional at all times. Since he left I had to call him once about an issue I had with one lock and he waited on the phone while I went to the lock and he talked me through it so I completely understood how it worked. Great outfit! I will only use Mr Bradley for my lock needs in the future.

Both the Field Manager/Sales Rep (Ryan) and Technician (Jeremy) were punctual, arriving at or before the agreed upon times.  Ryan was very personable and knowledgeable about the various options available to me and did not promote one over the other.  He let me make my own choice based on the information he provided.  Since I'm a "geek" I went with the upper-end package that included wireless connectivity to ADT, monitoring via my PC or Smartphone and the key fob (love it!!). Jeremy was a joy to work with since installation does require a bit of "owner" participation.  He made suggestions regarding placement of keypad and motion sensor, was very diligent in making sure that wiring for the keypad power was "out of sight, out of mind" and was very good at instructing me on how to use the system without "invading" my privacy with respect to passcodes, etc.  And this after going to the Dentist in the AM to have preliminary work done for a crown!!  Talk about dedication.  Since I will be switching out my front and rear doors as part of my house renovation I'm expecting to contact this vendor to come and reset the sensors.

One service technician, he had all the equipment. I showed him around the house. About an hour into the job another technician came in to help. The estimated time was 2 hours but took about 2.5 hours. Very nice job. They only had to replace the hardware, no wiring. They explained the complete system to me.

I scheduled time with him over the phone and he arrived as expected, which is a good start since some others have been no shows. Awhile after arriving, he mentioned he is having personal family issues that has caused him to lose sleep for several days.  He was very distracted and was getting confused with how to install the back plate on smoke detectors and getting them mixed up trying to install the wrong plate on the wrong detector, so it would not fit.  Eventually he figured it out and got them matched up. I had forgot to explain which room the unique smoke detector was to go into and he had already started installing the wrong detector in that location.  So, I asked him to switch it and put the matching detectors in the bedrooms and the different one in the hallway. I thought he was doing that, but somehow the detectors got mixed up again and still were installed in wrong rooms and I didn't notice until he had already left. The deadbolt lock was physically installed in the door lock  and "looked" fine as did the painting, but when I started pressing buttons to try to program the codes for the lock, none of the buttons worked.  Somewhere an installation step had been missed or done out of order (batteries were not supposed to be installed until the lock was fully installed). I thought he was following the instructions would have tested the keypad before leaving so I didn't check it until he had driven off. So, I called him and told him the lock wasn't working and that he didn't need to come right back and could wait until the next morning since he obviously needed to sleep so he could think more clearly. He came back the next afternoon and fixed the lock and swapped the smoke detectors where I asked.  He made a comment that I should have put the detectors in the rooms where I wanted them to go ahead of time.  He also reinstalled the lock and it then started working normally. He was rushing and kind of rough with the equipment letting the lock housing dangle by wire and I was getting concerned that the wire connection may get damaged. He was in so much of a rush to get out of the house ASAP this time that as soon as I said the basic lock functions are now working and I would figure out programming the rest of it on my own, he took off in a flash in such a hurry that he forgot to grab his tools and ladder and had to come back to the door to retrieve them. Due to his current family issues, this could be a "bad day," but this is the only day I have used him and this is my experience.  I don't know if it would be different in a month from now. I am satisfied that he came back to correct the work and therefore did not give a D of F grade, but I didn't like the experience and I feel I most likely overpaid at least an extra hour of labor due to him working more slowly in a daze on the first day and making mistakes in his sleep-deprived state when he was being paid by the hour at a high hourly rate.  The work that was done probably could have been done in 1 or 2 hours less time if someone who was fresh was doing the work. Then I was irritated that he was rushing the job when he came back to fix the errors since he wan't getting hourly pay this time.

Installation was a breeze, they use contract installers who are obviously not cut from the same mold as the security company. Customer service is the worst I have ever experienced.  I will never do business with this company again.  Run around, failure to fix issues after months of problems, no internal communication with the company, no ability to review previously reported information (every time I called I had to repeat everything in detail, to a person who obviously had no idea what I was talking about).  When I asked for a different representative I was told that the customer service representative was "in charge" of my account and that my request would be considered but could not be guaranteed. Save yourself a ton of headache steer waaay clear of this company.  As an authorized installer of Monitronics capable systems (Iphone and Ipad controlled systems) I would suggest you consider a different monitor as well.  They are equally incapable of handling issues. Six months after install I still have "Panel Communication Failure" on my alarm...........

This was an awesome experience.!!   A few weeks ago I received a letter from my alarm company stating my rates were going to increase.  I have had this service since it was Brinks and it had gone through many changes and was bought out by a larger company.  When I saw the rates were going up, I decided to check the services I was receiving for my monthly monitoring fees.  My monthly fee was going to increase to $35.  This was for basic monitoring and the extended service plan.  The only other thing we had was a monitored smoke detector. I started shopping around for a new company.  I quickly signed a contract with a company and it did NOT WORK out at all.  The salesperson came in with a clipboard and told us very little about the system they would be installing.  They put in very basic equipment.  I had 8 hardwired zones and they ended up reducing it to 6 zones which meant there were a lot  of zones combined into one.  They added a GSM (which goes through a cell phone connection).  They said this was the best way for the alarm to communicate since we have ATT U-verse services.  I paid $695 for 2 keypads, the cell phone comminicator that did not communicate and the control box.  They used the existing smoke detector and motion sensor that were installed by Brinks about 10 years ago.  After the installer left, I saw red lights on the cell phone box.  I called the company and they told me it was the cell phone service communicating.  I was not happy with that answer since there were 2 green lights on the box that were not lit.  I had to go online and after researching for awhile I discovered that the red light meant I had no communication.  If I would not have done the research, I would have been paying $45.99 for basic service that at times had no cell service and other times poor cell service.  Never did I get a good cell phone connection.  It was a very bad experience.  Luckily I canceled within my 3 days.  I don't know what I was thinking when I signed the contract.  My worst decision hiring a company.  I ended up signing a contract with Devcon Security.  They are new to this area.  You can see their website for their history.  The sales representative, Linda Kelly, was awesome.  She explained everything, went over all of the features of the system, told us about all of our choices.  She actually sat down with us and explained, in detail, what we would be purchasing and what our monthly monitoring would include.  I ended up paying $388 which included 2 great keypads, the first month of monitorig, a monitored smoke/heat detector,a monitored carbon monoxide detector, a keychain remote that let's me arm and disarm my alarm from outside, and the cell phone connection.  My monthly monitoring is $43.99.  This includes the monitoring of the alarm system, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, motion sensor, the cell communication, the extended warranty and it gives me access to arm and disarm my system from my computer.  I believe it also works with android but you would have to check.  I am so impressed with what you could control remotely. I didn't need all of the features but they are truely awesome. My install was today and the installer was great.  Went over, in detail, how the system works and the features of the keypads.  I am so lucky I found this company.  Thank you Devcon

CGAYLORD SECURITY AUTHORIZED ADT DEALER
The installer arrived late after calling, and scoped the job. He determined some wiring in the house prewiring job was defective and some of the installed alarm sensors were improperly installed, so he installed wireless sensors in all but front door at no extra cost; the front door had usable detectors (but they failed later as they were improperly placed and using the wrong magnet and had to be replaced by ADT's contract maintenance / repair service, River City Alarm Co.) Nice well-intentioned installer, but insufficiently knowledgeable to realize the job was not well done. The project lasted over half a day with no wiring requirements, and failed later (front door mentioned above.) In all, though the installer was friendly and helpful the job was not performed satisfactorily, resulting in false alarms, police visits and requiring additional work later to rectify the errors (from an experienced troubleshooter - see River City Alarm Co. review.) As a onetime worldwide electronic troubleshooter / air traffic control radar installer, I have a professional basis for reviewing the installer's work and deeming it unsatisfactory - and now we have three false alarm strikes with the local police department, meaning significant fines the next time.
