Recent Review: Steve and his pool team are on point. Steve has his pool installation process down and things flowed smoothly. He was quick to respond if questions arose and he followed up throughout the process to make sure things were going well. Side-note: I recommend choosing your tile and coping early in the process so it can be ordered and ready to go. Our coping wasn’t in stock (no fault of Steve’s) but waiting for it to come in put a hold on our project for a bit. We are very happy with the end result and our family is enjoying the new pool! Thanks Steve for a job well done!

Recent Review: Dale Walter, Noah Gale, and the crew of Solid Rock are simply the best people to work with -- ever. They closely with you throughout the process, from design and planning through execution and follow-up. Their crew shows up on time, is friendly and considerate, cleans up after themselves, and their work is masterful and professional. My backyard won a design and build award for Solid Rock, which I am very proud of.
Recent Review: They were prompt with their bid, estimating, pre-construction preparation, construction and clean-up. From beginning to end they did a terrific job. The product is more expensive than plaster pools but the product is worth it. Before commiting to the project we interviewed numerous prior customers including apartment owners that continue to use the company year after year to rebuild all of their pools. We expect our new pool to last much longer than a plaster pool and the work that was done suggests that we will get what we are expecting.
Recent Review: Luis came out for the estimate. He was professional answering questions and explaining my concerns, He was also very available when I had more questions after obtaining several estimates. They started the job on time with no delays during and I believe they finished in 5 days. One of the workmen suggested a service that could do the necessary work during the curing process(brushing daily and balancing chemicals). The price was higher than the workman had indicated, but the man honored that price. So I had a very good experience and would recommend them highly. I have one slight issue (intake line not flush to pool wall and entry rail wobbly). Still waiting for resolution but as you see I still gave them an A rating because I thought the work was good and these are minor issues. The pool looks fantastic and the leak issue is resolved. However be sure to do a thorough check before settling your bill.
Everyone I dealt with was pleasant and professional. California Gunite made the best overall bid out of the three that I received. The resurfacing and the lights were done well. However, the safety drain installed in the deep end of the pool, which is long and narrow (cigar shaped) was installed noticeably crooked. It looks really bad, and should never have turned out this way if it had been installed with reasonable care. California Gunite was made aware of this problem, acknowledged it, but offered no recompense. I guess they stand by their work.work.

ACalwest Landscape Demolition
John is highly professional, very prompt and on-time in all his dealings - he came down to take a look at our pool right after our first call. He provided us with a very reasonable and competitive written estimate and explained all the details of his quote. He obtained the permit, and did a clean, thorough and professional job on our project. He took great care to protect the ground, grass and other plants and fences (used plastic ground covers, boards etc.) while moving in and out of job. His working style and attention to detail were impressive. We are very happy to have our backyard back, and John did a great job. We would highly recommend John to anyone in need of his company's services.

AIn-Depth Leak Detection
We were losing water out of our thirty year pool. We contacted In-Depth and they came out and did a very thorough inspection of our pool and the equipment. The inspection took four hours. They even went in the pool in scuba gear to find out if the leak was anywhere in the pool below the water line or around the pool light. Within a day of the inspection, they provided a report describing what and where the problems/ leaks were located. The report had pictures of the areas that needed repair and the cost of the repairs. The initial inspection was $485.00, which was money well spent to determine exactly the sources of the leak. The cost of repairs to the areas that were the problems was $4800.00. Everything is working, no leaks and we are very happy with the service they provided.

AGENIE POOL AND SPA
Pool heater would not ignite. Contacted Genie Pool/Spa to have a technician come out and troubleshoot the heater and prepare it for use (We hadn’t used the heater for 8 years and so wanted to get it cleaned up and make sure there wasn’t anything else needing attention). The people I talked to in the office were very courteous and professional. Genie was able to send a technician out the next afternoon. They give you a 4 hour window, or you can leave the gate unlocked. They also required a $125 deposit (check) on the first visit, which went towards the repair service. As suspected, it was the ignition controller. I asked what the cost estimate would be, but the office didn’t have the paper work, and so basically I had to wait until after the work was done and receive the final bill. I wasn’t overly concerned as I knew that a controller could be purchased online for about $225. A few days later, the technician returned and replaced the controller. Heater fixed. The final bill was for $125 in labor and $275 for the controller. Essentially, all of the work was done while I was at work.

As part of a complete backyard and pool renovation, we hired PoolSafe to install an automatic and "SAFE" cover over our pool. Keith came to our house prepared and offered several suggestions. He worked with our other contractor, System Pavers, and designed a very nice cover and insured what they needed was completed in the deck and electrical. We provided down payment upon our approved design. Once System Pavers completed their work, PoolSafe set up an appointment to install our new cover (approx 20x44). They notified us in advance of the date and approximate time, called morning of and showed up on time. Evan did a superb job working along with Keith to install the automatic, SAFE cover and beautiful redwood bench. As we were expecting rain, Evan and Keith stayed late to complete the entire project in ONE DAY! Beautiful results and best of all . . . no more dragging a manual cover on/off . . . push a button, off & on! Being very professional, personable and meticulous our PoolSafe team were experts from beginning to end. Please see the gorgeous results in pictures below. Thanks Keith, Evan and PoolSafe team for a superb quality cover! It compliments our new paver deck well!

AAMERICAN LEAK DETECTION - SAN JOSE/MONTEREY
The leak detector successfully found the leak in one of the copper return pipes leading from our pool pump to our pool. Within half an hour, he had found the leak, which was under the concrete walkway surrounding our pool. He marked it with an X of duct tape. He quoted a price of $850 for fixing the leak, which included all the concrete work (taking up section of walkway), copper piping, retesting, and repouring the concrete. This company has other good reviews for finding leaks, but bad reviews on Angie's List for actually fixing them. Because of that, and the price quoted, we decided to fix the leak ourself. When we took up the concrete section, we found the leak was about a foot away from the marked spot. We still felt the service was worth it, since only a small portion of the concrete needed to be removed to fix the leak (versus the 40 feet of concrete walkway that surrounds our pool). We fixed the leak in the copper joint successfully.

AKLAUSER ELECTRIC SERVICE
They gave us all of our options as to what we could do. They discussed with us what it was that they were going to do before they did it. I like the fact that they guarantee their work as if something did not work correctly; he said he would come back out to fix it.
