Recent Review: When I was making arrangements with the service provider to schedule a date and time, I described what I needed and asked what it would entail. All I was told is how much the hourly rate was if I went over the 2 hours that was stipulated in the contract. He was done in approximately 30 minutes. The contract said $89.00 for 2 hours for an electrician to do the work. Since this didn't take two hours I asked about having new outlets installed. He gave me information but I thought he would have offered to do this while he was at my house or credit me with the remaining amount of time and make arrangements to come back and finish meeting the conditions in the contract. I supposed he thought like he did what I asked, so he was done. He did do what I asked, but I didn't pay for a specific job. I paid for 2 hours of time of which approximately 1 - 1 1/2 hours was still available to do something else. I wasn't sure of how this worked so I didn't say anything at the time. I contacted Angie's List via e-mail and they basically just apologized, said it was up to the service provider how they handle their service orders and they also wanted to ensure me that they have a good track record with a lot of client satisfaction. I've moved on to other projects, which I have purchased services for through Angie's List, but I'm handling things differently now. I get clarification up front so we are all on the same page. I'll continue using Angie's List. I've had varying experiences with the service providers that I've had do work for me. The main thing that I've run up against is that several providers just wanted to get in and get out because I'm sure they don't make a profit with some of the specials I see on the website. However, they will get repeat business and business via word-of-mouth if they meet the clients needs and provide not only quality service but good customer service.
