Kelso Security Camera Installation

All went very well, from purchasing the system through Angie's List to Frontline sending me  the equipment I purchased. Also the professional technical support in installing equipment to setting up the system via Control Panel.

Once we ordered our system, our customer service representative was able to customize the package to meet our individual needs. The equipment arrived on time. Self installation was very easy and their service has been great.

Daq, Chaz, Fred and their office staff were at all times professional. I contacted Bushu Electric for an estimate and an appointment was scheduled right away. Daq first arrived on a very rainy day, yet he was able to sketch my front and back yards for lighting ideas. He also led me to a website to reference various types of landscape lighting and flood lights. After I selected the lighting we were able to firm up an agreement on the total cost of the work to be done. Most days, I was unable to be present for the work so remote access was given and the wiring, landscape lighting, timers and dusk to dawn lighting was completed. Now on to the last task. The installation of the security camera system. Although it appeared to me to be a bit tedious, it went off without a hitch. All work was professionally done. No exposed wiring no mess. I'm very pleased with the total outcome and would highly recommend the Bushu Electric family to my family and friends. I expect to use them again for future projects...

Initially, Scott said that I would be charged $45 per month. I called back later spoke with a supervisor and it's actually 49.95. And I was interested in a security package that also included cameras, so Scott set me up with a package that would have use of security cameras, and he also mentioned that if you bought your own, you could use any brand of camera and it WOULD NOT go over $45 a month.  I called back to confirm this and actually they require that you buy their cameras for the system, which are quite expensive. ($200 and up). The supervisor was not helpful, would not honor pricing that was explained to me.

Every month like clock work I would receive a call from a Knight Guard Tech informing me that there had been a breech of security at my building.  I would go down and investigate, finding everything was fine, and the system in the building had no issue and there had been on break in.  After each of these calls I would inquire a little further as to why I was getting called at 4 am when there was no issue. The investigation revealed that this was a monthly test that the Techs who were monitoring the systems were not aware of.  Knight Guard has since informed or retrained their Techs so I do not get calls at 4 am when there is no issue.  I also had a small issue with the keypad used to arm the system.  The shield had broken off and was no longer secure.  When I told Knight Guard about this rather than just replacing the small plastic shield they replaced the entire wall unit.  Taking this opportunity to go above and beyond giving me the options now of some more advanced security options and making sure that I would have no issues using the security system in the future.  This company defiantly took what was a negative experience and turned it into a positive.

The system installation was never completed. Hardware, firmware, and software has not been refreshed for four years. Repeated calls to Vivint customer service have been frustrating. Vivint customer service treats customers with contempt in a highly condescending manner. Please seek your security solutions elsewhere.

Installing these kinds of systems is very expensive. I have heard horror stories of elaborate installations gone bad. Everything we have had installed by Smart Home Systems has worked properly, and any small glitches with the new system have been addressed promptly by the polite and helpful technicians.

They were responsive, arrived to provide the bid punctually, and I had good reports on them from others in Ukiah and Fort Bragg who have used them. We went with the local Fort Bragg option, however, as we prefer to use local people when possible.

Ordering a home security kit from SimpliSafe online was incredibly easy. And even though the order form said the kit we wanted was on backorder, it actually came in two days. All the instructions on how to install it are crystal clear (not written in another language and then mangled in translation to English), and the installation is easy-peasy, as is the set-up to activate our  notification subscription, which, luckily, we have not had to use.

I still have their alarm service. They drove out just for me to deliver a sign I could put up in my yard. They didn't make me go in and pick it up; I thought that was nice.
