Recent Review: Great. Tom and his whole crew are a pleasure to work with. I would hire them again. The quality was beyond my expectation. The pricing is fair within the current market range. Tom applied the 5% coupon discount even though I didn't ask! This is an honest company that won't take advantage of an inexperienced customer. That is appreciated.

Recent Review: It actually was fun for me interacting with the crew throughout the three and 1/2 days of work. There were crews of three to eight working the various phases of work. My wife and I were quite impressed with  their teamwork and apparent experience. They did their work as a team when the workload called for it but certain individuals performed particular jobs such as cutting tile, grouting, plumbing (the relocation of a sprinkler line and head) or electrical repair (an underground power line for the pool was accidentally cut during concrete removal --- even I did not know it was there), forming, edging and finishing  All of the work was fairly well scheduled. They removed and hauled all the broken concrete pieces. They formed all the proposed new work to our desired layout and satisfaction. They poured the concrete and screed with care not damaging existing plants, fence, entry, garage and patio areas. They stamped the new drive and walkway.  There was a one day break (Friday) to allow the new concrete to set prior to removing the forms on Saturday morning. They swept and removed the bulk of the coloring powder. They filled in, with earlier removed soil, along the edges of the new work. The cleanup was thorough. We are very satisfied with all of the work performed and already are receiving compliments from neighbors.  We highly recommend  P.M.T Concrete and crew for this type of work!

Recent Review: Everything went great. Oscar was very professional and helpful. The employees were approachable and hardworking. They showed up within the time they said they would, except once at the end to complete some wiring. Oscar was very fair in pricing and recommendations. My wife and I were new to California and did not know how much landscaping went on here. We chose to not have anything planted, just the ground prepared. It will be a lot cheaper to go to a Nursery ourself and get plants. The payment plan is fair too. He takes 10% to start, 40% at the halfway point, and the final 50% when all work is complete. Oscar was the only contractor that showed us all his licenses and insurance/bonding paperwork. It all checked out online as well so we were very happy to have his company design our backyard. We hope to save up and have him do some concrete work in our front yard next year.

Recent Review: We worked with Myriah to begin with on the design, plant list, placement of different items, timeline and cost.  Myriah was very patient with us and redid the design three different times to get things where we wanted and what we wanted.  They worked on cutting the cost as much as possible, yet still getting what we wanted, e.g., I built the retaining wall and removed the concrete mow strip. After getting the cost and design as close to an end product as we wanted, we had a walk-through with Myriah and Derek, the crew foreman.  I had to be out-of-town the two days that most of the work was done.  A little scary, but was pleasantly surprised with the results when I returned.  Over the next week, Derek and his crew fine tuned some things to our liking.  He did not stop until we were satisfied. Both Myriah and Derek told us to call at any time if we had any questions or any issues with plants, etc.  The reason for the price rating of a B is it was initially more than we had planned, but we do feel the end result was worth it.  The reason for the quality rating of a B is I'm an engineer and am very picky.  I do think the end product will look like we expected once the plants come in.  We've had many compliments on the landscape so far!!

Recent Review: CLS was only 2 of 4 contractors I contacted who actually provided me with a bid for my project, which surprised me in this tough economy.  Ron Davis (president and project manager of CLS) made a very timely and detailed bid and provided excellent answers to a few questions I had on the bid details.  Not only did he provide me with the bid, but gave me names of people who vouched for his good work.  Ron analyzed our side yard drainage problem very well and proposed an excellent solution. He called the utilities before his crew did any work and we found out that our TV/internet cable was close to where they needed to dig.  I was pretty nervous about them digging in the area, but they expertly found the cable and avoided it entirely.  Their trenching did cut into an existing irrigation line, which was no big deal and they repaired that as part of their work without any problems.  In a pleasant surprise for me, Ron and his crew found a functioning drainage line from the back yard that they were able to tie into the new drainage and they also found a functioning drainage outlet that I thought had been lost to some tree roots.  While they didn't rely on the old drainage outlet to complete their project, they did tie it into the new drainage and that provided an additional drain that I hadn't expected. After cutting and jackhammering concrete, then trenching (mostly by hand to avoid the TV/internet cable), they placed the new drainage pipe then poured new sidewalk where our old sidewalk had started to slope into our garage over the years (water coming into our garage last winter was the big tipoff that we had a problem).  We've had one significant rain storm since the project was completed and didn't have any water come into our garage at all - a successful project! I think the only negative surprise I had was that our final project cost $400 more than the initial bid of $2550; however, Ron had stated in the contract that significant underground obstacles would increase the price of the project.  They did encounter some big tree roots (a couple looked to be about 4" in diameter) that they had to cut out (while avoiding that cable).  I'd mentioned a very positive surprise above about tying into some existing drainage.  Overall, I think this price was fair given all the extra work they did. I'm very happy with CLS and their work and the attention Ron and his crew gave the project.  They were on time, cleaned up each day, and their work did exactly what it was supposed to do.  I give them a strong recommendation.

Tom's style is direct. He knows what he's doing and makes suggestions on design. As some projects go there is always the unknown. In our case he discovered 2 foot footings along the edge of our rear patio. Apparantly the previous homeowner was anticipating a possible room addition. This made tear out a challenge. But he and his team jack hammered out the footing because his bobcat could not accommodate the weight.  A lot of extra labor. He repaired a broken patio step, left the job site clean and followed up with us numerous times to ensure there were no issues. He meets his commitments and sticks to the job until finished. You'd be crazy not to hire him. Thanks Tom!

The timber was not satisfactory at first. He kept coming back to replace the bad timber. Finally, after about a year, he completely tore down the timber wall and put in a brick wall. He did not charge us extra for this. I found him to be extremely professional and honest. He has great integrity.

Hired to installed patio, sidewalks and move sprinkler system. Stamped concrete patio looks wonderful, colored (solid) concrete sidewalks are full of ugly discolorations. Contacted company a few months later to inquire about reason for such, was informed it was moisture from rain. (After a full summer, it still looks the same.) After the preparation for patio was done, was informed that either needed a retaining wall or a complete back yard grading to avoid excessive water runoff onto patio.  We decided on the wall, both for cost and aesthetics. The wall looks wonderful, but it was a huge added cost we weren't prepared for or informed of prior to hiring or start of work.  What really turned me off was the carelessness of the crew. Our bushes along where one new sidewalk was installed had concrete all over them, and our soaker hose was destroyed. Their supplies were left strewn across our lawn for about a week after the work was done.

PMT was fast to provide an estimate and the estimate was well within my budget. For the amount of work completed, and the number of men on the job for two days, the price was very reasonable. The estimate was provided on Monday and they started on Tuesday morning with all work completed by Wednesday evening. This crew came to work on time all the way from Sacramento to Fairfield each day. The crew was 5 to 6 men and all the equipment needed for the job. They went right to work and all stayed on the job both days until the work was completed. Mr. Peni was helpful and provided advice where needed. He made no attempt to up sell the work and installed exactly what I wanted. I was having a new storage building installed at the same time and Peni worked around that job with out a problem. I would recommend this company to any one wanting quality concrete work.
