Recent Review: Steve is very professional and honest. He gave a very fair estimate and he and his workers did a great job. Even though I didn't have that much work done, my yard looks a million times nicer than before and at a great price. He also repaired some of my landscaping lighting and sprinkler heads and no extra cost.

Recent Review: Kudos to Ralph and his wonderful team at Absolute Landscaping! My daughter Debra and I had Absolute Landscaping turn an eyesore into a gorgeous backyard. In a day and a half, he and his crew worked their magic. They did everything we asked for and more. Ralph is a true visionary and we now have a beautiful backyard. I don't know everyone's name but Kevin and the rest of the team were most polite and personablel. Ralph is always ready to answer questions and never made us wait. He and his team arrived and finished on time. The estimate we were given was our final price with no surprises. I would recommend Absolute Landscaping to anyone looking for professional, skilled landscapers at a fair price.

Recent Review: Once the paving contractors completed their work, Travis and crew arrived. They installed curbing, lawn, trees, shrubs, decomposed granite areas, river rock, and built an awesome fire pit (gas) surrounded by three stone benches. The pondless waterfall cascading down from a small hill of boulders, rocks and variety of plant life looks like something you would find in the middle of a forest. Numerous birds have been attracted to this feature, as well. From start to finish, including subcontractor work by an electrician and plumber, our backyard and quot;Shangri-Laand quot; was completed within two weeks. Travis always showed up on schedule and maintained contact with us via phone, text or e-mail throughout the project. His wife Lee was also very helpful with either plant suggestions or responding to our inquiries if Travis was not available.

Recent Review: These guys are fantastic. They were on time and on schedule. They did an amazing job on our front yard and it is absolutely lovely. We worked with the owner, Kirk, to establish the plan and watched him as he amazingly drew the plan in front of us after listening to our likes and dislikes and our plan for the type of yard we hoped for. He was completely knowledgeable about our neighborhood, the soil and even the HOA, After establishing the initial plan we worked with Ernie who managed everything. We LOVE Ernie. He is professional, personable, SKILLED and an all around knowledgeable person. He is a problem solver and skilled with working with his crew. The crew worked HARD in sweltering heat all day. There was no lounging around. Each day they cleaned up totally and at the end of the job they power washed the street, sidewalk, porch and driveway. Everything was pristine. With Ernie on site we were confident that the job would be done correctly. He talked to us every day about the progress. Kirk also came by regularly to inspect the progress and talk to us. Their communication was excellent. We even signed on for their maintenance program. We also had them repair a horrendous underground leak requiring a back how and workers in the ground. They removed trees that were failing and replaced plants. They cleaned out gutters and make sure the down spouts were clear and flushed out clean. The job was completed when this review was written. If there was an A+ rating I would have given that. If you want to see the yard, call me at 775-424-2548.

Recent Review: Fortino's was prompt and professional every time they were at my home. Jose was easy and pleasant to work with as was his father. In retrospect I should have had a better idea of what exactly I wanted but I am happy with the way it turned out, given little input from myself, they put it together excellently. The few difficulties I had were due to not asking the right questions. I ended up spending about $1000 more than I had anticipated which caused some stress on my part. When given the time frame for the work I didn't understand that they weren't going to be there every day, mostly on the weekends. Overall my experience with this company was very positive. I would recommend them to anyone asking and I would definately hire them again. My home looks fantastic!

Recent Review: Amazing! From our very first conversation I wanted Jeff and Rock Solid Landscaping to be the ones to remodel our yard. I received estimates and designs from five other landscapers, and Jeff was the only one that really listened to our wants/needs/ideas and had the ability to bring them to life, as well as respected our budget. He was very patient with us every step of the way and helped guide our decisions and provided creative solutions to some challenging issues with our yard. His crew is fantastic. They are incredibly hardworking, perfectionistic, polite and genuinely seem to care about the project. The worksite was left clean and orderly every day and Juan Carlos answered all my questions. The project was a long 5 weeks, but they finished on time even with some unexpected delays and problems cropping up. The final result absolutely exceeded all my expectations and we are totally in love with our new yard. It is like an entirely new house. We've already got Jeff and his crew lined up for next Spring to tackle the front of the house. I cannot recommend Rock Solid Landscaping enough!

Recent Review: The job began with an 18"-wide band of pavers around 3 sides of our wooden deck, to replace some decomposed granite (DG), which our dogs would continually dig in.  The next phase was to remove approx. 600 sq. ft. of sod, on a visibly sloping lawn adjacent to a concrete walkway outside the new deck perimeter pavers.  Huge job! The elevation between the bottom of the "hole" where the soldier course--the bottom base-layer under the future pavers--would go and the remaining grass was over a foot. That's a lot of sod and soil to pick-axe out and haul away. They put a huge container street-side to wheel-barrow it to and then took that off for disposal. They capped all sprinkler heads, levelled the area to be paved, put in the base layers, compressed everything and installed the pavers, which had been delivered from a company in South Reno and which I had gone out and chosen from their showroom.  The guys also dug a French drain along the whole back side of the wall and also installed 3 small drains at the base of the wall at the back of the paver patio for run-off in a downpour.  They filled the drain with rock of my choice. Finally, to kind of frame the whole back and sides of the work, they put in a concrete curb of the same style as we have in our back yard. Clean-up was impeccable, with no debris left behind. The crew was professional, ridiculously hard-working, and masterly in their installation of the pavers and wall and benches.  Tony, the foreman, checked in regularly to oversee their work and progress.  Ours was a big job and it took just over 6 work days. The whole experience was pleasant and stress-free. I would recommend these guys, this outfit, without reservation. I had gotten 3 bids and Tony was back fastest (immediately!) with an explicit bid, which beat one other bidder and made much more sense than the 3rd bid, which was odd and confusing and tardy. Our back yard looks truly amazing now, even opulent.  And I have 1/3 less lawn to deal with than before.

ADRY CREEK GARDEN CO
We are really happy we hired Dry Creek to do our front yard.  We had been wanting to do a xeric landscape and we also needed to replace our old cracked cement driveway.  We had just had a baby and were still sleep deprived and we needed somebody that could come in, do a design for us, and then follow through with it without us hovering and making sure that everything was being done right.  Dry Creek Garden Company followed through on every level for us.  It started out with an initial consultation where John talked to us about what kinds of things we liked and might want in a new landscape and also about what we didn't like.  John drew up plans which we ended up liking and went forward with only a few very minor changes.  The plans called for a paver drivway, walkway with a patio, and 2 raised beds with rock walls separated by an area of decomposed granite and xeric plants. The work took about two weeks to complete. They worked hard.  It was November and they were trying to make sure they got it done before any snow fell.  Most of the time was spent on the pavers.  They did a great job.  They were careful about making sure the slope drained away from my garage, and they did a very meticulous job with the border where there were a number of curves and getting the pattern right (it was a three paver size herringbone pattern that was a bit confusing).  The landscaping part came next where they put in the rock wall and built a raised bed next to the walkway.  They put in two zones of drip lines in (mostly using the existing sprinkler system and converting it.)  The last part was the planting of the plants.I waited to write a review until now because it has taken a while for the plants to grow.  It was a stark looking yard for a little while.  Now that the plants are growing, we absolutely love it.   All summer now there has been some plant flowering and something new to look at.  We had a couple of casualties over the winter, plants that just never grew, but Dry Creek replaced those.  We have had a lot of people compliment us on our yard.  I can say that we had a great experience with Dry Creek and would definitely hire them again.

AAbsolute Landscaping Inc
I'm sure there must be are other Landscape companies that would do satisfactory work, but my solo experience in this area is with Absolute Landscaping.  Trying to pick a contractor solely from the yellow pages proved to be daunting, as all the adds say, "We do it all, and/or we're the best."  I narrowed down my choice by by the simple expedient of picking the first Ad I saw in the Yellow Page Listings. (Absolute begins with an "A").  During my initial call to the General Manager, Ralph Weber, I discovered they are located in Carson City, 30 miles South of Reno.  Ralph assured me that I lived well within their normal business area, and it would not pose any problem.  The first thing that made a positive impression was that Ralph called when he said he would, kept every appointment, as scheduled, on time, even a little early.  I never had to wait or wonder if and when I would hear from him, or when he would show up for an appointment.  If he had failed to do this, and I had to chase after him, make several phone calls to find him, it would have been over before it started.  I have cancelled work with other contractors (Painters are the worst), because they don't call or keep appointments.  The first rule of business, "call the customer, keep your appointments, call if you have to cancel."  This put me and my wife at ease, along with the fact that he was pleasant and easy to work with.  Over a few visits, we developed an agreeable plan, and Ralph presented a few computer-generated sketches from which we developed the initial plan and bid.  He gave us an approximate start date, and as the time to start neared, he called us and gave us an exact start date and general outline of the work to be done.        They arrived promptly at 8:00 AM on the start date and began preparations immediately.  Kevin, the Project Foreman, introduced himself, and we had a general discussion about the work. I asked a lot of questions and proposed some "What if" and "could you possibly do" to which he was responsive and amenable.  I was briefed and updated each morning on the days work, and as the work progressed, we made some changes and additions which had a minimal impact on the original bidding price.  I incorporated some last minute additions which required that Kevin return in a few weeks which he was willing to do without any coaxing from me. Ralph called back right away with the additional cost, which was very reasonable.         They arrived on time each day, the work progressed steadily, was done on time and looks great!  There were no surprises, no delays.  They did what we asked them to do, agreeably incorporated changes.  They did what they said they would do, when they said they would, on time, without a hitch.  My overall impression was that everyone was focused, and customer-oriented.         Time was that this was how all business was conducted.  Now it seems sometimes the exception rather than the rule.  Nowadays good work deserves special mention.         I suppose I might have gotten the work done for less if I had started with a competitive bid situation.  My first impression was of such a positive nature, that I decided just to go with Absolute.  Though the bid was within my budget, my first concern was that I get what I pay for, that the work would be done right.  I believe that I got my money's worth.  Good service is not a matter of money, it's an attitude.  Absolute gets another "A" for attitude.        The contrast of the before and after is so drastic, that when I look at my front yard, it almost seems surreal.  After looking at the old yard for 20 years, it's going to take a while longer for my brain to adjust to the new look.  THAT is exactly what I wanted.
