Recent Review: Dustin was helpful and cheerful through the entire process.  He was patient as we slowly chose our colors and styles and was always happy to meet with us at his shop or to discuss via phone, text or email.  The counter and backsplashes were delivered on time and were installed quickly and without incident.  Everything was cleaned up and put in order before they left.  Dustin even checked in with us afterward to make sure we were completely happy with the product. I am very happy with the concrete countertops and extremely happy with Dustin and Buckets of Stone.  I would recommend them to anybody .

The showroom is clean and they had a great variety of products to choose from. We made our decision and ordered the product. The office called us with the installation date. The installer showed up on time and installed the countertops in the time that was promised. He was clean cut and professional looking. I highly recommend this company and will be using them to install our kitchen countertops when we are ready!

Recent Review: dThe quote indicated that I would receive all remnants of the Cambria.  We agreed upon a time for the measure and in response to a query, the time was moved earlier slightly but a time that I could still make.  I arranged to leave work shortly after lunch and I rushed home, arriving a few minutes before the specified time.  The guy there for measuring had already been there half an hour and asked my husband a few questions but my husband did not know the answers.  I indicated that I would like as narrow an edge as possible on the solid surface and as small an overhang as possible on the Cambria on the island.  The countertop installation was fairly soon after the measure on a Thursday.  This time, the workers arrived at least half an hour after the indicated window for arrival but that was not a big deal and the workers were pleasant just as the measure guy was pleasant.  They brought remnants of the Corian but did not bring the remnants of the Cambria.  The Corian edge was a drop edge and  1 1/2 inches even though at least some fabricators will do a 1 1/4 inch edge.  Since my countertops are low (I am short, I really think the 1 1/4 inch would have looked better but perhaps this is "too custom."   The island, where I had requested the smallest overhang possible, has 1 1/2 inch overhang on each side, making the refrigerator a very tight squeeze to move past, there is slightly less on the front and back and there is a significant lip although I thought we had agreed that a lip was not necessary.  There is a 3/16 inch jog up in the backsplash where it comes out from the cabinet to the window edge.  This is not unsightly, just seems a little odd, perhaps it matches the height on the other side of the window between the cabinets.  I emailed that I had not received the remnants of the Cambria.  On Friday morning, I received the large remnant of the Cambria but not the smaller remnant.  On Friday evening, after letting the glue dry overnight, I started to put things into the cabinets and discovered that  one cabinet would not open at all.  I thought it had been glued shut but actually, it had been screwed shut.  I emailed to indicate the problem and to remind about the missing Cambria remnant.   I again  tried to call on Saturday morning for both the cabinet issue and the missing remnant.  On Monday, contact was made on the cabinet issue and Countertop Designs was again reminded about the missing remnant.  Personnel came out on Tuesday, pried up countertop to remove the inappropriate screw and they removed about 1/8 inch off the top of the  Kraftmaid base filler pullout because it would not otherwise clear the 1 1/2 inch lip on the countertop.  So now, the cabinet opens.  The missing remnant is again mentioned in an email on Tuesday.   On Wednesday, I am informed that the remnants would have been instinctually disposed of and that they would have been removed from the premises the day before.  These remnants would not have been useful for countertop, being only about 18 inches wide in the narrower dimension but useful to me.  All told, I would have paid a little over $200 for this material that was useful to me; delivery to me was indicated in the signed agreement and multiple reminders were  provided to the company before the material was apparently disposed of.  I have yet to receive the remnants of this material that I think is owed to me. The quality of the workmanship of my final product seems fine; my design  requests were apparently "too custom" to accommodate but if one didn't have specific ideas in mind, I think one would be happy with their "design."

AKitchen Mart Inc
Since I looked to Angie’s List for research on who to go to for our kitchen re-do, it’s only fair to add my two cents worth about how pleased we are with KitchenMart. In brief: Carla, our salesperson, was knowledgeable and professional. She was also very patient with my numerous questions and some subsequent changes to what we had originally discussed. Mike, our project manager, was very attentive and thorough. He did the original measurements and I was impressed with the time he took and the attention he paid to every detail. When the project was done he noted some minor flaws that I hadn’t even noticed and arranged to have replacement panels installed. Jeff, our main carpenter, truly treated our kitchen as though it were his own. I really can’t say enough about the painstaking attention he paid to every aspect of the job. He wasn’t going to be satisfied unless we were – and we are! The refacing process was remarkably dust free, although precautions were taken to shield an adjoining room from dust. The timetable that was laid out for us was also largely adhered to and the only variance had to do with Mike’s wanting to replace some panels. This didn’t prevent me from being able to put my kitchen back together and use it within the original timeframe given. All of the KitchenMart people who worked on the countertops, plumbing, electrical, paint, etc were great to work with and each one had good things to say about their employer, which I took to be a very good sign. Their ads say that they love what they do and I believe it. We felt their pricing was very reasonable for all the work done. I absolutely would not hesitate to call them again should we be ready to do more work in another room. Thanks, KitchenMart!

First step was to meet with a representative who took all measurements, gave advice, scheduled the work and established the price. This was quite helpful. We took advantage of financing package for using a particular countertop product and had a one year interest free financing that worked out perfectly. workers came in and took care to not track dirt and dust and began the process of removal and installation work. All was done on a schedule and proceeded without incident or problem. (At one point work was suspended while outside contracted painters came and painted the kitchen and all cabinets). When painting was completed, Kitchen Mart workers returned and installed all handles perfectly and other touch up items. On a couple of items, Kitchen Mart went beyond the scope of work slightly to satisfy us. We were delighted with all aspects of the work relationship.

ASolid Creativity
We were over a year into a whole house remodel doing most of the research and work ourselves.  My girlfriend was going to kill me if I didn't get the house finished soon and we were stuck trying to decide what type of countertops we wanted for the kitchen.  We were originally thinking granite were unsuccessful finding something that would meet our needs and be cost efficient.  After over a month and still no clue which direction to go, we were talking to one of our friends and they we look into concrete countertops.  There were not a lot of companies to choose from however there was a clear difference in the quality & service that companies provided.  We chose Peter and his company Solid Creativity for several reasons.  First, his pricy was competitive.  Second, Peter's portfolio of work included numerous unique options and his past work is extremely creative and unique; something that was important to us.  Third, he casts his countertops offsite in his shop and then installs only the finished product.  You might think this part isn't important but the last thing you want is someone pouring concrete in your kitchen and then letting it set and coming back in and finishing the concrete (which requires sanding) and a huge mess.   The overall experience was more than we could ask for.  My girlfriend and I have very different styles and neither of us had any clue what we wanted.  I mean we had zero clue what we wanted.  Peter was extremely patient, sat us down and showed us different samples and asked what we liked, what we didn't like.  He helped us narrow it down to 1-2 styles, and 2-3 color samples which made our final decision extremely easy.  We would never have come up with a decision without his help.  He offers these squiggly lines that are one of a kind.  You'll have to see his photos to understand what I mean.  I was 100% squiggly crazy but Julie didn't like them and he suggested a great compromise which was to have the lines on the bartop area but leave the countertop "regular".  So glad he reined me in b/c it really adds to the bar top area.   We knew that the finished product would could vary slightly from the samples.  What Peter does when he makes you samples is he actually goes through the entire process (same process he uses when making your countertops) from scratch.  This process from pouring, curing, and finishing takes about 2 weeks if I remember correctly.  He can do the samples faster, however doesn't recommend b/c it makes the sample less accurate. On the final day when he showed up with the finished project, it was installed in just a few hours.  The finished product is amazing.  It is actually better than we expected it to turn out.  It is 100% unique.  We've had them for over a year and haven't had any issues.  They look just as good as the day he installed them.

DHOME DEPOT
I would never have Home Depot (the Florin location) do any work for me. They not only caused me months of grief with the countertop, but at the same time they installed a linoleum floor. They had to tear out what they installed and redo the whole thing! The installer did not secure the subflooring correctly. All this and they never offered us compensation or even a gift card for Thanksgiving dinner or Christmas dinner, due to their folly I had no kitchen for either. A simple job of installing a kitchen counter (a small area, apartment size countertop) took them 5 months to get it right! My husband was too nice and should have raised hell and demanded compensation, but then again he should not have had to.
