A Tradition Floors Inc
Recent Review: Daniel matched the bid from a semi-big box flooring store; I also think he and his crew did a better job than the big store would have done. Daniel appeared to observe the "rules" for laminate, delivering it a couple of days early so it could acclimate and using good underlayment to minimize noise. The crew also trimmed and installed a length of baseboard, so I know they can do that work, too. The laminate went together well, looks good, and sounds solid underfoot. A Traditions cut the carpet short at the doorways, but the carpet contractor was able to stretch it out. Update 5/2014: I've had to have the floor repaired because the boards were installed tight to the tile at the entryway and the bathroom. As a result, the boards expanded where they were glued directly to tile so they bounced when stepped on. The repairman - a flooring specialist - cut the boards back and installed new thresholds - another cost.

I have been working in this industry since 1969/1970 servicing the Sacramento and surrounding areas and cities as an installer. Typically I will go and visit the customers home or project site and provide a free measuring service for them, so they will know how much flooring material and accessories, such as moulding, baseboards , adhesives, etc... will be required for their project. I will also provide them with a detailed, accurate estimate for the installation.

DR Design & Remodel
Recent Review: Shortly after our master bathroom remodel we decided to revamp our kitchen.  Our kitchen had the standard suburbia look: oak cabinets, bar top counter, a small useless counter area, vinly flooring and the "coffin box" looking ceiling light to name a few things. We took out everything!  We moved the kitchen layout slightly, so that the countertops would all be put to good use.  We bought new cabinets with soft close and different organizing options.  They even installed our BlueStar range and hood (this was purchased elsewhere), which had certain installation requirements. We decided to update the flooring not only through the kitchen, but the breakfast nook, dining, pantry, and foyer areas.  They gave us all the different flooring options and were knowledgable in each product.  It was nice that we could look at them.  We decided to go with a Mannington laminate flooring that looks like wood.  Our friends and family think it's actual hardwood! I can't tell you how many times we went through their showroom to look at their products and to talk to them about our ideas prior to coming up with a Master plan.  Yes, there were a hiccups as anyremodel has, but Floor to Ceiling quickly addressed them.  The Floor to Ceiling family are helpful and friendly.

Sacramento Area Wood Specialists
Recent Review: I obtained 5-6 estimates.  This companys bid was about in the middle of the other estimates.  Some were much higher and some were cheaper.  I had a feeling these guys would be the best and that turned out to be true.  I had to remove a small section of ceramic tile prior to the installation and I was having a hard time removing the thin set.  I spoke to the estimator/owner "Denny" and he was nice enough to send someone out to help me complete it using their professional tools.  Within a few weeks of the acceptance of the bid they completed the job using a crew of young professional guys.  They did everything including baseboards, painting them and everything.  I am so glad I chose these guys and would highly recommend getting an estimate from them and consider using this company.  I don't know how the other companies would of turned out....one of them was 2,000. more.  One was 1,000. less but I couldn't understand language very well.  A few were just flakes and no showed.   This company was the most professional.

Reviews in El Macero to Install Laminate Flooring

DVince Parker Flooring
After meeting Vince I felt confident that he would do a great job on our laminate flooring. However, there was MULTIPLE things that were and still are concerning. First off, Vince did not measure correctly, thankfully I took the liberty to add more laminate, underlayment and transition strips. He cut a MAJORITY of the boards too short, so not only is it unsightly, it is also collects dust. I addressed my concern before he put on the base shoe, but he assured me that all the gaps would be covered. Of Course, that was not the case! Thankfully I saw the base shoe before he installed it, as he used spray paint and it did not match our baseboard or current base shoe. On top of that, he used a different size than the rest of the house. Also, he did not replace the ONE piece of flooring that had a stain, he then tried to repair/ clean it and made it worse. Another thing, he did not put back closet door racks. He would not return my phone calls after the install. Now all the transition strips are lifting! Yeah!!! This contractor should NOT be installing flooring, especially laminate- I am in the design profession and this was one of the WORST jobs I have seen. I'm glad he did my personal residence before referring him to any of my clients!!!

FC&K Builders
DO NOT WORK WITH THEM. We hired C & K builders for a flooring job and I cannot emphasize enough how awful of a job they did. Richard (also known as Rakesh) is very unprofessional. He underbids but then hikes up the price once the work is underway. The workers were scheduled to come on two separate occasions so we took time off work and both times they did not show up. The third time, they finally arrived at noon when they were suppose to arrive at 9 am. They were very slow and drank on the job which made us extremely nervous. They also clearly had never installed floors before. They took 2 hour "lunch" breaks. After the second day, they had not completed half of the job but they promised it would be done the next day. 5 days later the job was finally complete but the wood was already starting to buckle on a couple locations. The transition pieces were lose. At that point though, we just wanted the workers gone. Now, months later, our flooring is buckling in multiple locations and we will need to get it re-done. This was a huge inconvenience and we really regret hiring C & K builders. There is obviously a reason they have no reviews. Do not work with them just because they are offering a lower rate!

They were quick to respond with an estimate. Their estimate was close to the lowest provided. They were local, flexible, prompt and kept to the agreed upon schedule. The quality of the work is excellent and they cleaned up everything before leaving.

Was referred here by Vince Parker the installer I hired, large selection at very competitive prices. Lynn was great to work with and very knowledgeable, allowed me to take multiple samples home to see how they looked with furnishings etc. I wouldn't hesitate to purchased from them again.

AMonley's Carpet One Floor & Home
Monley's lived up to the enthusiastic reviews they have received from others who subscribe to Angie's List. Everyone was very pleasant and professional, and I couldn't be more pleased with the final result.  What a transformation, to go from faded old carpet to beautiful, easy-to-maintain laminate -- really brightens the whole place.

It went as planned. The installer showed up on time & went right to work. Came back as promised and finished on time. We are very pleased with the results.

APHIL RICHARDSON FLOORING
I would highly recommend Phil Richardson to do flooring install.  He went out of his way (coming back without charging us) to make sure the product we installed would be a product we would be happy with.  Initially we had purchased some cheaper laminate from a off branded Home Depot wholesale place in Rancho off of Mather.  Starting with the install, he got about 1/3 of the way through and stopped the job to tell me the issues we would have with this laminate.  He simply stated that we are not going to be happy and due to the defects in the butt joints (I believe) and poor design these have a higher likely hood of popping out. He assisted us with finding laminate at a great price as well that would hold well, look just as nice (same style).  He came back and installed the second time and installed the flooring.  He was awesome! Honestly, I couldn't recommend a contractor any higher/better/more than Phil with flooring install.  He has 30+ years of experience and he simply is an honest hard working guy with a great attitude.

FS & G Carpet and More
I purchased laminate flooring from S & G and was clear about my installation needs from the beginning. I spent $11,000 and at every step of the process, I was told that the timeline was not a problem. Well, it turns out, they will promise anything to get the sale, but, not actually take care of the scheduling to ensure the timeline it met. Instead, they pass you off to schedulers who do not care about meeting the sales person’s promises and the sales person takes no responsibility. I regret purchasing flooring from them and I will work with a professional when I purchase for the upstairs.

AVince Parker Flooring
We had an area of laminate flooring that had been damaged by a roof leak we were unaware of until the floor started to to buckle. Vince was quick to come and give us an estimate, which was very reasonable. He was professional, prompt and competent. He also did some cosmetic repairs in some areas that needed improvement.

DSULCA'S CARPETS INC
I have used this company in the past. I like that they are a local, family company. I think the price was fair, and I was told that the job would take two days. They rescheduled the start of the the job 4 times before they showed up. They were short of the laminiate, so left the hallway with one edge and one end unfinished. The second day, the plumber came to reinstall my toilet. That went ok. Then the carpet guys came, and they looked, thought they might not have enough material, so measured before they started. That was good. They finished up in good time, replaced the large furniture, etc. As far as I can tell, they did a good job. Then the baseboard guy showed up to put baseboards around the laminate. He got the bathroom and one closet done before it was getting dark and he had to leave. (6 pm on Saturday). On Monday I called the salesman/estimator about the laminate. He said the supplier shorted them. Maybe/maybe not, but the laminate was in their warehouse for at least a week before they began installation and nobody counted the boxes???? Anyway, he said it would be the next week before the additional material was available. He said he would send out the baseboard guy to finish the other two closets, so I could rehang my clothes. The baseboard guy didn't show up, and nobody called to tell me he wasn't coming. I spent 6 hours at home waiting for him when I could have been running errands or something. I called the salesman again and left a message....no response. I called the store and left a message for the salesman. I was told he was with a customer, and would call me back.....no response. I went into the store the next day and the young woman texted the salesman, who returned her call. She pulled up the order and said the extra material was due in the store the next day (now 10 days since they left the job undone) and they would be out to finish it between 1 and 2 on Friday, after they finished another job. The owner called me later and moved the completion up one day. They came, finished up, apparently did a good job and left. The baseboard guy came back "first thing" the next morning (9:45 am) and finished up. He did a nice job. Then he asked for the remaining payment, but he didn't know how much that was, and I am willing to bet he couldn't take a credit card. I said I would settle with the salesman on Monday. Short story- it took over two weeks to do a job that I was told would take two days. When I tried to find out what was going on, I couldn't get any response from the salesman. I will not use this company again.
