Reviews for Remodeling Bathrooms in Catheys Valley
Andrew and his team were amazing. After months of trying to find contractors to quote and start work in a timely manner, I found AW Construction who came out straight away, quoted me and started my project all in my time frame. I was kept up to speed on what would be happening daily and even though I changed my mind a few times, Andrew had his crew here to make sure it was finished on time. My bathroom remodel came out better than I could have imagined. I will absolutely be contacting them for my next project, and I will be recommending them to my friends.

Andrew is a class act, all around. This bathroom remodel is the second job he’s done for us in our family home (did trim/finish work before) and we know we can depend on him to communicate the whole way through and get the job done right.

The quality of the work is excellent. The owner of the company and all the other workers are skilled and. professional. I needed a portion of the bathroom enlarged, and they were very efficient at moving a wall and making best use of the space available. The painters, plumbers, floor installers were very capable and tidy workers. AW construction had built a free-standing garage for me me a few years ago, and I will certainly use their service in the future. They were also very helpful with planning and suggestions. My house is over 50 years old, but they have been able to work around any difficulties in making it possible for me to keep features that I like.

Work took two and half days. Even though I paid in full and left they completed the work after as promised. This is a good sign they are reputable. Bruce is very communicative and experienced plumber. Chris is expert in tile work.

3/2015 Installed a bathroom door and damaged the wood floor threshold. Asked him to fix it and after waiting weeks, he said he would not waste his time trying to find the correct piece and replace it. All the work was done very slowly, and mistakes were made that had to be corrected.

The project came out GREAT! D-Best Tile came over to review the job and what we wanted to have done in the bathroom - which was a complete strip out of the existing tile. Mike Samide, owner of D-Best Tile, offered suggestions of what could be done and I went off tile shopping. I came back with a more complete idea of exactly what I wanted and Mike returned to discuss the project - again at no charge. We agreed on a plan, he offered suggestions on the least expensive place to purchase the tile, and we set a date to begin work. At this point, Mike wrote out an estimate. We (the owners) removed the bathroom fixtures and stripped out the old tile to save a little money which was fine with Mike. We ran into a problem with water leakage from the toilet . The subfloor had to come out in that area which was beyond what we, as owners thought we could do, so Mike added the flooring repair to the job for $300 (included in the $2000 above). The job lasted 3-4 days. Everyday he called in advance to let me know the time he was coming over and he showed up promptly every day. He worked with a partner so that they would complete the work on time and both guys were really great - very neat and clean, friendly, and competent. The job came out wonderfully! After the tiling was done, we ran into difficulties replacing the bathroom fixtures with my plumber and Mike found a terrific plumber which I have used ever since! I can't say enough good things about D-Best Tile.

Henry Ford does an excellent job. He is highly skilled, conscientious, thorough and efficient. Most of the eight ceiling fixtures/fans had some sort of installation issue. Henry was able to make everything work beautifully without sacrificing quality or safety. Mirrors as large as 8 x 5 feet in size were removed from bathrooms with minimal damage and not one broken mirror. impressive! I have already put in requests for Henry, and his partner Jason, to work on several much larger projects....and I am 100% confident that they will do an outstanding job. Highly recommended!

I had two other people try to remodel my home and they left it a mess. Andrew came into the picture and make it a WAAAYYYY better experience because I was regretting that I started a remodel. Andrew and his crew did an amazing job on my floor, livingroom, bedrooms, dining area and bathrooms(minus showers). Andrew and his crew were extremely honest, punctual and professional. I was kept up to date on what was going to happen during the whole process. It was such a smooth remodel. Andrew and his crew put my home back together and cleaned up the mess the others left. I would definitely recommend Andrew and his crew! I can’t wait for them to come back and finish my kitchen and showers! Below I’ve attached videos of the before which will be the obvious mess that the other left and Andrew and his crew fixed. Also, below are progress pics I wish I took more completed pics!

Andrew was at my house within a couple of days of me contacting him. We went over everything that I wanted completed, a contract was drawn up, and a start date agreed upon. Work started September 17 and ended October 8, 2018. Andrew and all of his subcontractors did an excellent job. They were very professional throughout the process. Andrew did a great job of making sure everything ran smoothly. He would call me every night to see if I was happy with progress and to let me know who would be at my house the next day and what time. Andrew made sure to come every day to check on the work and progress. My husband and I are extremely happy with the house remodel. I can’t stop admiring the beautiful kitchen and everything else that was done. We would definitely hire AW Construction for other future projects. I would ighly recommend AW Construction to anyone.

Started good. Origional quote was $10,000 which I had no problem with. The project was to take about 4 weeks. They ran into an issue with Lead paint which ended up costing them about 3 days labor. When putting up barrier to remove the Lead paint the barrier was held up with 2x4's that poked 2 holes in the bedroom ceiling and 2 more in the hall ceiling that wasn't being worked on. Later I found out they were going to cover up my origional insulation on a exterior wall which in the quote had a cost to replace it. I had to bring it to their attention to get them to replace it. During the remodel which ended up taking 6 weeks instead of 4. I saw 3 to 4 employees get fired from their employment (not my issue I just want my job completed). During construction it noticed that my attic fan wasn't working and due to having a injured back at the time I asked if they could replace it. I was told the fan itself was about $100.00. I said ok. Later I found out my quote had jumped from $10,000 to $10,500. They said it was due to rewiring the fan. My bathroom exhaust fan (less than 1 year old)got shorted out due to their wiring , which they did replace. On top of the quote I still paid for all the paint and primer to cover the work that was done, the closet doors and metal trim for the shower edges. Per the quote I purchased all the tile for the shower, the floor and the vanity top. As the contract stated when each of the 4 checks were requested I had the check for them within 1 to 2 days without failure. The first 2 checks were actually paid together to help cover the permit. When things were finally coming to a close and we were doing inspections as we were asked to do, they started demanding their final check before they had finished the touchups. We were told if I didn't pay them in full they were going to contact their Attorney and start processing, was told 3 or 4 times. I still had the final check delivered to them on the second day. Also it was noticed the new $200 toilet I paid for in the quote had a chip in it, which they came back out and patched and the new vanity that was purchased had a chip in the cabinet in which we noticed. (Though the quote said they were going to build and didn't) They installed it without letting us know that it wasn't built but bought.. They told me to make a list at end of each day, then his wife came and told us that we shouldn't be doing that even though they told us to. Also when contract was signed Mark told us he would give us receipts, (should have put in contract but didn't, we trusted him) and at the end of the job his wife said they don't do that. So we didnt get receipts. Don't be mistaken bathroom is alot nicer then it was originially, just had alot of issues.
