Recent Review: Two technicians showed up and drained the water tank and flushed the system.  They were courteous and professional, performing the plumbing inspection and made recommendations for replacements including the hot water tank which showed signs of rust and small leaks.  The tank was 25 years old and I expected them to recommend a new one.  The estimate I received, however, was too high, so I hired another plumbing outfit to replace the water heater with the same brand as Duke recommended, for several hundred dollars less. .

Recent Review: It went very well. The two Aussie toilets were leaking from the water tanks into the toilet bowls. A home-warranty company sent two other plumbers who just couldn't get the job done. Imagine. These Aussie toilets were difficult to service because once you took off the lid to the water tank, you could not replace that lid without having a second person aiming a pair of guide bars attached to the lid carefully into the appropriate slots on the flushing mechanism. Furthermore, the flushing mechanism in each toilet was encrusted with calcium deposits (hard, hard water in this neighborhood). And the online instructions for servicing these Aussie toilets (they were a great idea at the time) were difficult to find. Once you did find them and ordered the parts, ALL the parts that went into each water tank, and then phoned the "local" distributor, she boiled the several part numbers down to one part number and sent me only a pair of gaskets, that was it, one for each toilet. The second plumber installed the gaskets which cut down on but did not eliminate the leaking. He wouldn't come back, ever for the $75 the tight-fisted home-warranty company offered, so the company called Kaiser Plumbing and Bingo! Done.

Recent Review: I was so impressed with Lamont's work, that I am having him bid the cost of replacing my old hot water tank with an on demand, tankless hot water system.  He is very knowledgeable about a water heating systems and he offered up a variety of ideas and options for me to consider.  Lamont was very professional and a pleasure to work with.  I definitely recommend him.

Recent Review: We wanted to convert from oil heat to gas and install a new air conditioner. I have used Reno Heating and Air to service my heater for a few years and they have always done right by me. I did get two other estimates for the job, and although Reno Heating and Air was not the least expensive, coming in at the middle, John was great at explaining all of my options to me and taking the time to answer all of my questions. I felt like he was very honest instead of trying to sell me more heater than I needed for my small house. Also, they provided a decommissioning of the oil tank as part of their service and I felt like their estimate was the most comprehensive. Chris in the office is very professional and a pleasure to work with. This person coordinated the work with NV Energy on the gas lines and meters. Although this job was interrupted by the Thanksgiving holiday and a storm that produced flooding around the valley, Reno Heating and Air was very professional and worked hard to ensure that heat was restored quickly. Their techs were very competent and a pleasure to work with. Overall, I am extremely happy with my new heater. It works exactly as it is supposed to. They took the time to explain how the new thermostat works and ensure that I knew how to use it. No more being blasted by too much heat and frozen by too little. Best of all, no more huge monthly oil bills. I would definitely recommend Reno Heating to anyone looking to install a new heater or service an existing one.

Recent Review: Joe Prinz of Prinz Plumbing is a PRINCE!  He was on time, knowlegeable and willing to explain in detail what he was doing and why.  He determined that the smell in the garage was propane (not dead animals in the crawl space as another contractor had said) and set about determining its source.  He found it, fixed it as well as all the other items.  I was impressed that his fixes were well thought out and designed to make replacing the current water heater (if necessary) easier for the next guy.  As long as it's me selecting a plumber, it will be Joe!

Recent Review: Job took a day and a half.  Had to come back 2 days later for dryer vent.  Glitches were found and corrected promptly.  Heat pump in Reno area is a fairly new idea, at 35 degrees heating from heat pump will automatically switch to oil and above 35 deg will switch back to heat pump.  So far all is well.  The Sierra HVAC team were all courteous, professional, and took time to explain all details of installation.

It took days but considering that a second company. was called in to do the trenching and digging it was completed in 4 days. Allen Plumbing did an excellent job laying the new piping and connecting up to our home, which was built in 1978. They had repaired the original water line just the week before when it blew again, only in a different spot. Considering that the original piping was getting old, it was decided to install all new pipes to remove further ruptures in the old line. The job was completed and we are very happy and will call them back for any plumbing, heating, water tank or air conditioning problems in the future.

It was ok, I was giving a big sales pitch which I did not like. They were very prompt. He also made recommendations and he tried to sell me a $4000 water heater. I would say that they are competent and they guy was pleasant and on time, they are easily to deal with.  He did everything I asked him. I was looking for ideas and recommendations but I got a sales pitch.

Excellent. Bill arrived on time and extremely knowledgeable. He diagnosed the problem and showed me why a replacement was really my only option - gas was not being regulated when heating water and had resulted in a damaged unit that was no longer safe. At no time did I feel I was being pressured to buy a new unit. After replacing the unit, he turned the water on. At that moment, the line running to the outside bib broke, creating a small flood by the water valve for the refrigerator. This had nothing to do with the water tank repair, it was inevitable break. Turns out the original contractor had tipped the pipe in the wrong direction. Although this was an unexpected job, Bill was willing to do it on the spot. Bill made the smallest cut possible in the interior drywall, replaced the bad line and added appropriate fittings for the pipe to angle correctly. He also installed a new bib. The additional work was unexpected but only an extra $100. Best of all, he mopped up all the water! Super service, very professional and well worth the price.
