An estimator/coordinator came out and looked at my list and the project and said that everything could be done in the 40 hours of the Big Deal offer. Sad to say, he was wrong. Also, I understood the offer to be a 40 hour week. Because there was one man doing the handyman work and two men doing the painting, my week became two days. I ended up paying an extra hunk of money just to get the priority items done. The handyman didn't use the dog door installation kit which I gave to the estimator/coordinator (and had paid extra to purchase) and the shelf unit was cut smaller than I told the estimator/coordinator I wanted, probably because the handyman used some of that shelf wood to install the dog door, for heavens' sake. I think that the painters should have brought their own stepladder and all the needed trays and rollers. I give the workmen some credit for trying their best, but rushing the painting was a bad mistake. Paint splatters and drips in so many places and on so many things -- my wood cupboards, counters, floor. It was a very frustrating experience for all concerned.
