Recent Review: The guys came very promptly and when they said they would. They were very professional and personable. They installed a new gas line for my new gas dryer (I currently have electric and hate it!) and, while checking the gas lines found a leak in our gas hookup for our stive (we have an electric stove, but I had a gas hookup that was capped off. I am switching to a gas range as I dislike cooking with the electric stove). They fixed the leak and installed a new hook up for my new gas stove. They did all of this for $350.00. This is much less than I would have been charged in NJ where I moved from. The guys were really nice and dealt very well with my autistic son who loves to ask questions. They seemed apologetic about the cost of the parts because gas parts tend to be expensive, but I thought they were more than reasonable. I have found my new plumbers for life!
Recent Review: I shopped around for a plumber to install a new gas line for a gas stove. Josh came to my home a gave a free estimate, which was a fair price. As plumbers do not repair anything that gets damaged, (sheetrock) he was very thoughtful of my situation and kept the damage down to a minimum. It went very well and I'm extremely pleased with the work and with Josh Thomas. All was done with a permit and other paperwork. He's fair, punctual, thoughtful and has an excellent personality.
Recent Review: Plumbers arrived on time and worked non-stop throughout the days they were here. They were polite, well manner and went out of their way to be accommodating. Not only did they do an outstanding job on the plumbing, the repair work on the stucco was outstanding! I was really concerned there would be massive holes in my home's exterior, but they repaired them beautifully. The only concern I feel obligated to mention, is that we were assured the job would be completed in one day, and it actually took three. This was not a major problem for us, however, it could present difficulties for other customers.

They were 15 minutes late to the initial appointment for an estimate. They were supposed to be at my house to complete the work the next day at noon. I was contacted at 12:17 and told they would be here at 1 PM. Because I had to go back to work, I rescheduled for 3:30. I ended up having to reschedule the latter appointment until 8/14/13 at 4 PM. Company did not show up and/or call.

They came. I said what I wanted. They gave me a price. I liked the price. They did the work. I liked the work they did. I would use them again.

I held off proceeding for a couple of weeks because the bid from Repipe 1 was about half of what other contractors quoted. Contractor explained their price is based on competing in much larger market (Southern California) than local plumbing contractors. I decided to take the chance. Start of job was scheduled very quickly. The only "hiccup" was the permit obtained by contractor initially was incorrect: it was to replace the water line from street to house, not the re-pipe of water plumbing from service through house, and addition of gas line. I had to assist in getting correct permit issued after work had initiated. On the night before work was scheduled, we had a winter storm that snowed in mountain passes between Bakersfield and where workers were coming from. The main worker told me he left his home at 2:00 a.m. to make sure he got through, and he worked alone the first day for about 12 hours to do the first stage of work and get water back on so we had service that night. The next day both workers were able to get to Bakersfield and they again worked for nearly 12 hours to get finished enought to get the water back on. Foreman returned for a third day to finish detail work, and was very responsive to various details such as leveling visible fixtures. A friend who is a journeyman plumber came to view their work and reported it all looked good. The final day a two man crew came in to replace drywall and patch, and finished in that day. Their patching was adequate. I had made arrangements to have a different drywall/plaster contractor come in after plumbing was done to repair ceiling and wall in a room where water leak had occurred, and I had that contractor "touch up" the patch job in a few locations. The Repipe 1 patch job was probably acceptable to most, but I wanted a little more finished look than Repipe 1 had left. Overall, I was quite satisfied with Repipe 1 and I did not mind spending a little on some extra touch up.

Oasis provided a bid, period. The request for the bid included running vents/returns to two rooms with little attic space. As a result, the bid ended up including a great deal of things they would not include. In other words, they actually would not perform a lot of the work I'd requested. Don't know why they didn't just tell me that when they saw what would have to be done. No other contractor I contacted had trouble figuring out what to do and giving me a price. Representative could use some customer relations training as well. Won't call them again; really unimpressed.

The job went well, there were a few issues, but they always took care of it without a problem. I will be calling ICON for all of our future needs. The pricing is fair and their people are great to work with.

The gentlemen was very efficient with time. He did the job quickly and talked to me about the recommendations at the same time. He gave me his name and work history which helps re-connect with him if the service needs follow-up down the road. He made sound recommendations and didn't waste time trying to up-sale the job. He pointed out the issues with the incoming gas line, which is no longer under code, and the rust and calcium issues I had with the supply lines. When he did the cleanup in the furnace, he used a hand vac and vacuumed the bottom of the tank, and the surrounding area, which included the stand, around the stand, the 2x4 in the unfinished wall, and around the entire tank. He did a very thorough inspection of the dirt, clutter, and lint given the unit was so close to the dryer exhaust. He then relit the pilot, tested the levels and closed up the unit. He rolled up his hose, shook my hand, and left. He did a very good job and gave me a standing quote for the upgrades when I decided it was time, as well as a special Angie's List customer discount. Great service, happy customer.

Our washing machine (which is on the second floor of our house) overflowed, leaving a huge mess in its wake. Mr. Serda installed a drain in the floor which runs to the outside wall. He also installed a rubber liner to prevent the water from damaging walls in the future. He also oversaw the re-installing of tile work and sealing for the floor. The job was done very well, and we have had no further problems.

The owner is also a real-estate agent who sold me the house. They were fair, responsive and it worked well for me as I am an engineer and could communicate well with the people. They worked with me with what I wanted.
