Recent Review: I can only say one thing: Wow! I started shopping around for landscaping for my backyard 2 months ago. Right from the introduction to planning to execution to 'yet to finish and I have no doubts on it now', it has been a breeze. Lucas, the project manager, is super awesome! Starting from walking through the project requirements to discussing options, he has been super flexible. He explains things really well and his management/supervisory skills are too good. He makes sure to visit every day to ensure the crew is on track, the materials are in place and to check whether I am aligned with how the project has shaped up and if any changes are needed. I was skeptical on how the design would actually look on my backyard, but, I am super impressed with how things have shaped up. I am getting a combination of pavers, garden bed, water feature, turf...... done and I always like people when they understand the job requirement and are precise about it. The best thing I have been noticing right from the beginning is the attention to detail by Lucas and his crew. Furthermore, the work itself speaks to the experience. Overall, a great decision and I will remember the experience with enjoying the backyard with my family for a long time. Thanks Lucas (The project manager)! Thanks Michael and crew (The onsite crew)! Thanks Anne (The designer)!

Recent Review: We had put a water feature in the backyard that worked poorly. We had it redone, and it still worked poorly. So we checked Angie's List and called Mystic Water Gardens. They took down the previous installation and put in a beautiful waterfall with a small stream, including landscaping, moving in huge rocks and installing an underground reservoir, all in one day. We asked them to come back and do one more thing, which they did immediately. We are very pleased and would hire them again in an instant. I'm attaching a video that shows the water feature both in daylight and at night. It's so pretty!

Recent Review: Mitch and the crew at Solena Landscape are the best. They can do EVERYTHING. Pools, hot tubs, fountains, hardscape, lighting, landscaping, etc. They are creative and professional. Though ours wasn’t the biggest project, we got first class service. Some of their bigger projects are jaw dropping. Highly recommended.

Recent Review: We got a number of estimates. At first we were just doing the driveway. Later we decided to add the atrium area, too. We had gotten a second estimate for the larger job which sounded better than the estimate given us by Systems. We had a lot of difficulty deciding what we wanted (concrete, stamped concrete, style of pavers, etc). While we were trying to make up our minds, Systems called back and asked to come a second time to show us more alternatives. The salesman (Jay) spent a lot of time with us and was able to show us some images on the computer of our house with the different options. Systems matched the lower price we had gotten from another company and it was clear they wanted our business. We finally selected a color and tile type and slated the project to begin in a couple weeks, a time that worked best for us. I think the project turned out to be harder than expected, as removing the concrete in the atrium was a huge job. It was thicker than expected and all had to be broken up and removed by hand. Nonetheless, the job progressed on schedule. When they started to lay the pavers we were very concerned about our choice of colors, which looked different to us than what we had expected. It was very clear the foreman wanted to make sure we were happy and we managed to use two of the three colors in the mix without getting a checkerboard effect. They finished the project in 5 1/2 days. The workmanship was perfect and they didn't cause any damage, even to surrounding plantings. I cannot say enough about their professionalism or the skill of their work. The finished project is exactly what we ordered. To be honest, we are still getting used to the change. The colors go beautifully with the house and we just finished painting the garage door. It really does look great. My only possible advice to anyone considering this company is to get the best price you can. Other than that, I cannot fault this company in any way. I would definitely use them again in the future.

We originally contacted Caliber Pools to build the water features in a complete landscape remodel we had planned. When they bid on the water features, they let us know that they could also bid the entire landscape project. Their bid was significantly less than the bids of the lowest priced sub-contractors for the job as a whole. Their quality of workmanship was perfect. We have not found any faults in the project 3 years later. Their crews maintain the highest standards. Caliber Pools regularly does work for the largest water amusement parks in southern California, and they give the same attention to private homeowners.

Called the Riverside office (same # as OC office) and left message with live person. She told me a contractor for my area would return call and make appointment. No one has followed up. Very disappointed. This was a large project which will now go to a contractor who WANTS my business.

The overall project turned out looking nice but there were some solid bumps along the way. The grill is just now working and only after my friend figured out that they had used the wrong conversion kit for natural gas grill. It took more than one meeting to convince them that I did not like a lot of hardscaping and then I was charged a lot more (~$1000) to put in ground cover--which should have been included in the original estimate. It seems like the big picture stuff all went pretty well but there were a lot of punch list type issues that I am just dealing with myself vs continuing to take off work to meet with them. There is a 1 inch gap on both sides of my built in grill. It looks like someone didn't measure it correctly; One of the stones on my raised bed is loose; the back side of the counter for the grill is just tile sort of overhanging by a 1/2 inch; something is going on with the drainage such that water pools on my patio; every iteration of the design included bamboo but when I asked where it was toward the end, she charged me extra $200.00 to go buy the bamboo; they told another worker on my property to use the trash bin they rented and then charged me $250.00 for going overweight. The list of nickel and dime charges and annoyances sort of goes on and I just got tired of it. I was made to feel like a jerk for asking that things be tightened up and after spending 20k on this project, I am just tired of dealing with it. It looks pretty but we will be working on it ourselves to finish up where Hawkeye just kind of fizzled out. I had already recommended them to a friend before the job "finished" (subject to interpretation considering I get to go mix up mortar to keep that stone from falling on my dog someday). I'm not sure if my friend is going to go forward using Hawkeye but I will be sure to warn her to be prepared to watch a little more closely as they get near the end of the job.

It went fine except they had to come back to install a larger pump. They came back promptly to address our concern and installed a larger pump. They are one of the few contractors we’ve found in the Tressure Valley who actually returned a phone message and showed up when they said they would! We would hire them again in a minute!

ASeth Pompey Landscaping
When we decided to remodel our back yard, we thought we knew what we wanted. So we called a number of landscapers (at least 6 ? some from here on Angie? List and a couple from Craigs List), asked a thousand questions and as a result learned a great deal about all kinds of things we did not know about this kind of undertaking. This also resulted in a several modifications of our original plan. Seth Pompey came out to our home a number of times and patiently listened to our modified plans and helped us with budgeting, logistics and basic planning. Seth?s estimate was not the cheapest, nor was his the flashiest presentation. Nearly ALL the estimates we received were comprehensive and offered by very obviously competent companies, making this a very hard decision to make. But we chose Seth Pompey because of the amount of experience & knowledge he brought to the job as well as his ability to relay that to us, putting us at ease in investing the kind of time and money. The crew was made up of very polite, respectful, punctual, hardworking, self-starting individuals who were each very knowledgeable in their areas of expertise. They asked me questions that provided them with the information needed to give us the outcome we wanted. They also answered my questions directly and understandably. Happily, we did not experience any expensive surprises at the end. The estimate was extremely accurate and only went over in the areas that were options included in the estimate in the first place. After the work was done, I had some very small issues and questions that Seth responded to with the same timeliness, courtesy and competency that we had experienced throughout this project. SO. Yes we would use Seth Pompey Landscaping again in a heartbeat and have no reservation in recommending them to others. Thanks, Seth!

Nick and his crew were very professional and timely. The water feature was a one of a kind piece that came out phenomenally well. Nick stands behind his work as well. 8 months after completion, the sand grout between the pavers was gone. Nick will be coming out to put new and different sand grout in at his cost w/o any complaints whatsoever.
