Recent Review: Excellent once the workmen got there. The Hiring / Scheduling Process There were issues with scheduling through Handyman connection when I initially purchased the Angie's List Big deal. Before purchasing there was a box to input my zip code and it verified that service was available in my area. However when I called to actually schedule I was told that my area was NOT serviced and was advised to contact Angie's List to cancel, which I did. I had input my scheduling dates initially through Angie's List when I had purchased the deal. However, after cancelling I received an email from the owner Dean Theadore to call and schedule. I advised him via email that I had cancelled as I was told by the scheduling people that he didn't service my area. Dean said yes he could/would service my area and said to go back and repurchase the deal. Unfortunately when I went back to repurchase the deal it was over and could not be reinstated. I advised Dean of that and proceeded to look for a new handyman. Several days later I saw that the deal was back on Angie's list so I advised Dean via email that I would repurchase and did so. Yet again when attempting to schedule through the phone schedule system I was told he didn't service my area. I advised that I had spoken to Dean directly and he did cover my area. The schedulers then told me to go directly to him as they couldn't do it. It took another week, various emails and calls to actually get on the schedule. THE WORK: Finally the work was scheduled and I was advised that workmen would arrive at noon. Around the time they were to arrive Dean called and said they were tied up on another job/traffic and they would be about an hour late. When they hadn't arrived by an hour and half later I called Dean. He expressed concern and reached out to his workers. They were still in traffic and on the way but would be likely another hour late at least. Dean assured me they would stay till my work was completed regardless of the time. Once Israel and Raymundo arrived Israel went through the projects and the two of them got right to work. Everything went very well. The small repairs were done very quickly. The plastering and drywall fixes were beautifully done - they laid dropcloths and protected my floors and rug, and cleanup was very good as well. As it was getting late and I was reaching my deal time limit I chose not to have them paint the drywall repairs as they'd have had to wait for it to dry, or to do a remaining lowest priority fix, as it would have involved a run to Home Depot for supplies. Overall I was very happy with the work that was done, once we got through the initial purchase/scheduling issues. I'm now compiling the "next list" of repairs/projects and will contact the company directly to set up working with Dean and his team.

Recent Review: exceptionally well. Great tile setter, beautiful new master bath with custom-fitted walk-in tiled shower - white subway tile with glass mosaic trim, grey concrete floor, quartz top vanity, glass backsplash, etc. He demoed the existing bath, reframed it including construction of a new ceiling and insulation in the walls. He also installed and painted 7 interior doors and their frames, and repaired drywall in the ceiling.

Recent Review: Great work!  Jeff was a pleasure to work with-punctual, came when he said he would with a crew that was professional, neat, fast and cleaned up afterwards so you couldn't tell the work had just been done.   If you have ever dealt with the mess of drywall dust, you know how important it is to have it done without leaving a huge mess afterwards.   Also, they added things I hadn't considered, like an attic opening, without me asking, since I didn't know enough to ask.  He did an imperfect smooth finish that I still enjoy looking at almost two years later.   I wholeheartedly recommend Jeff if you need any drywall done.

AMitch's Drywall Inc.
One repair was due a foot going through the ceiling during an attic inspection and the other was required when drywall had to be cut out to access shower plumbing that needed to be repaired. Both jobs were done very well. Once the areas were repainted the drywall repairs were invisible.

ABPM Drywall Repair
Rodger was delayed but called and gave us his time of arrival. He was friendly and  professional in dealing with us. He went right to work after we showed him what we needed done. He even showed us how to deal with simple repairs on our own in the future.  We would hire him again and would recommend him for drywall repairs.

ALake County Drywall
They were fantastic. Mark was my daughter's soft ball coach, and he did a fantastic job in our home. He came on time, and got it done in one day. He cleaned everything up, but I moved everything back. I intend to use him again. We are all tied in, his daughter used to work for the company that I retired from. I know from experience, that if I went to anybody else, it would have been expensive, but he is that kind of a guy, he is very good.

FFerguson's Drywall
The owner of the company said he had 32 years of drywall experience and also said that the job would take approximately 9 days to complete in order to do the job properly. But in fact this company was on the  job less than 12 hours over a three-day period. They hung drywall taped and applied joint compound and then textured before the joint compound was even dry.  They did no sanding to make sure that the joints were flat. The  owner, Ed Ferguson, approached me even before the job was complete for final payment of $2,600 and I told him that I would have to inspect the job in order to ascertain its completeness. Upon inspecting the job with my wife we decided that the job was horrible and we brought in a close friend general contractor to give us his opinion so we could make sure our observations were correct.  The general contractor who has done many drywall jobs agreed with our conclusion and recommended a great drywall company - North Wind Drywall - who also agreed with our observations and charged us a very reasonable price to do the job correctly. They also said that Ferguson Drywall had given us a cost estimate ($5,200) that was more than twice what they would charge to do the job. My electrician who had done some preliminary work came back to finish up and I told him about my unsatisfactory drywall experience and before I could tell him who did the job he said "Was it Ferguson Drywall". When I said yes he said he was doing work for another customer who had just had the same unsatisfactory experience. I also asked Ed Ferguson about the senior discount that is indicated on his business card and he laughed at my suggestion. My mistake in this whole situation was to trust a good friends recommendation and not get multiple drywall company quotes but I would never use or recommend Ferguson Drywall. Horrible experience.
