We have a pond in our garden. While we were away during the summer, the pump died (again!) and the pond went completely green and murky. I found X-stream ponds on the web, and contact the owner, Steve Walkosak, to see if he could help. He came out and assessed the situation and proposed converting it to a self-sustaining ecosystem, complete with (invisible) shrimp below a screen, tiny fish about, plants, and simple aerating pumps that are fully accessible (not buried in cement). He cleaned the existing pond, pressure washed all the rocks, installed his amazing stuff, got everything working again, and within 24 hours the water was completely clear. The pond worked wonderfully, except when we were away and the bobcats knocked the pump around. It was fine once it was returned to its correct position. He added a few new plants this spring to replace those that were hurt by the extreme cold of the winter. His prices for the updates are very reasonable (usually $40).. We are thrilled! I recommend him and his ecologically sustainable system to everyone I meet.
