Recent Review: After talking with Gregg on the phone I could tell he was a really nice guy that cares about his business and his customers. I purchased the Aprilaire deal on Angieslist and had them come out and install it. Kyle was the tech and he was very courteous, professional and most importantly trustworthy. After installing the new Aprilaire he could tell something was up with the furnace, he took a quick look and said that it needed a thorough tune-up since the previous owners never once had it inspected. We have a newborn on the way and he said he wouldn't feel right leaving the furnace the way it was. He did a full tune-up and got it running right. This really speaks to the character of the business and employees. They care about you and want to make sure you're taken care of. Gregg Heating has earned a customer for life and I highly recommend them.
Recent Review: Communication with the company was a breeze, and scheduling was easy. The main office called me on the cell phone to let me know when the technician was on his way, and the service technician was punctual and courteous. All my questions were answered eagerly and intelligently. An assessment of the HVAC system determined that a minor duct issue in the attic was not worth repairing (getting to it is a major issue), the solenoids on both of the humidifiers were not functioning, and a noisy inducer motor needed replacement. The solenoids were replaced under warranty, the motor not. On the second visit to do the replacement work the service tech was again just as prompt and courteous. He worked efficiently, leaving no mess, and made sure I had no outstanding questions. I heartily recommend Discount Heating based on my experience with them. The price may be a bit higher (didn't comparison-shop), but the 5-year warranty and the high quality of service seem worth it.

We've used AC Zone for over five years. They installed Trane AC's, clean effects, fresh effects and two built-in humidifiers. They have had regular turn-over in office and technical staff. For the first three years the tech they sent to clean filters did not know we had clean effects and the filter had never been changed. We've had ongoing problems with the humidifer pads. They needed to be changed every couple months. We finallly called Wolffe Mechanical and they sent a ten year certified expert. He told us the humidifier had been installed incorrectly in the intake. Additionaly, at least the last time around, the pad had been put in upside down. Both these mistakes contribute to dirty air in the house, the pad gunking up and waste of water. Furthermore the motor is cracked,; likely cuased by being dropped during installation. Avoid this Company.

From initial telephone reception to installer everyone was helpful and polite. Easy quote for the estimate right over the phone and the owner (who happened to pick up the phone when I called back to set up the appointment) answered the few questions I had remaining. Kyle, the technician/installer, was on-time, courteous and efficient. He explained the operation of the unit and maintenance tips as well as making a respectful request for future business in servicing the unit. All in all, a very easy outfit to deal with. Will certainly consider them highly if we need further heat/AC work done. They seem to be deserving of the multiple Angie's List awards (which heavily influenced our initial decision to contact them).

Mr Chambers was flexible, accommodating and responsive in scheduling the work appointment. He thoroughly examined the furnace and sump pump, offered to change the filter on the humidifier, and handled the tune up of each. I especially appreciated that in addition he was willing to spent extra time repairing duct work in our attic, even though this was not part of the original appointment. The duct work was both time-consuming and located in a tight and difficult space in the attic. I will use Mr Chambers' service again, and highly recommend him.

When the house was built by Classic Stellar in 1993, they cut a lot of corners and the HVAC subcontractor installed an undersized heatpump. Furthermore, the flexible duct work used to bring cold air to the opposite side of the house (the master bedroom) was (a) undersized, (b) not insulated and (c) hung in a haphazard fashion, allowing many kinks and right turns to impede the flow of cool air. In order to get the bedroom a little cooler for sleeping at night, we really wasted a lot of energy in the rest of the house. We had several companies come to give us bids. One I turned down immediately because he just wanted to sell his special and didn't even bother to inspect the previous setup. Of all the competing companies, I felt that Day & Night's service techs worked hardest to crawl around in the attic to come up with a plan specifically designed for our unique situation. I could have saved a little money with someone else, but I believe what we got will save us money in the long run. Some of the higher cost was due to our adding a Honeywell TruSteam humidifier to the system. There was a little confusion because the first thermostat they installed had to be replaced with one made specifically for the humidifier. There were some error messages which none of their techs could explain. To the service manager's credit, when I complained, he got a regional manager for Honeywell to come to the house with two of the service techs. He basically was teaching them, and told me he would set up some training for all the Day and Night techs to educate them about the product. All our questions were satisfactorily answered. It has been running for about five weeks now, and is a big improvement. We can easily get the temperature in the bedroom down to a comfortable temperature for sleeping without wasting energy. The humdifier works well also. Before the monsoon season, when humidity levels were single digits, our pet cats were no longer afraid to be petted by us for fear of getting shocked. Dry skin is a real problem for my wife, and she noticed an immediate improvement. We also had no problem with the financing, as Day & Night processed the application for a Home Improvement credit card from Wells Fargo for us.

WE HAD MAJOR ISSUES WITH THIS PARTICULAR PROJECT. WE HAD USED ABC FOR A PREVIOUS INSTALL OF A HUMIDIFIER AND THEY DID A GOOD JOB AS CLARENCE DID THE WORK HIMSELF. THEY HAD HORRIBLE PROBLEMS BEING PUNCTUAL DURING THIS PROJECT. AFTER THE WORK WAS DONE, WE CALLED THE COMPANY TO INQUIRE WHY OUR GAS BILL WENT UP $200! IT TOOK A GREAT DEAL OF TIME TO GET THEM TO RESPOND, AND ONCE THEY DID IT TOOK ANOTHER LENGTHY AMOUNT OF TIME TO RESOLVE. WE ENDED UP VERY FRUSTRATED AND WITH NO CONFIDENCE IN THIS COMPANY.
