Rob, The Wood Doctor, was hired to repair damage in my rental home caused by the previous tenant's dog to the door casing, baseboard, shoe moulding, and corners of the kitchen cabinets. I hired him based on his quick response to my request, his assurance that he could get the job done in my compressed time schedule, the feedback from other AngiesLists customers, and his website photos. Unfortunately, the repairs were not completed in a satisfactory manner. The baseboard and casing had a slightly different profile that didn't fully match with the existing, the door casing repair was skewed and did not align with the upper portions, and the overall repairs were easily distinguishable and stood out. The baseboard corners were highly detailed and taller than the originals, again not matching with the existing. The shoe moulding was completed reasonably well although the nail holes were not puttied. The cabinet repair had lots of putty (wrong color too), it still needed to be sanded, and the damage was still very noticeable. Due to my tight schedule, I just sent him on his way, knowing that I could make time in the evenings over the next days to fix the issues. I hired someone so I wouldn't have to do that in first place. I did follow-up with him after the fact and expressed my dissatisfaction. Due to the poor quality of workmanship, the lack of the attention to details, and the inability to meet an agreed to time frame, I would not recommend hiring the Wood Doctor.
