Recent Review: Since Renovations purchases all the materials, it's impossible to determine the actual cost of the materials and labor.  I assume they did their best to control costs, but would have preferred to see the budgeted line items.  Some of the documentation that accompanied the materials (installation instructions, warranty, care & cleaning instructions) was not provided to us. We should have thought to request all the material before the construction began. Renovations took the time to understand our desires and requirements.  They included us when making all the design decisions and kept us informed of their progress.   Mike Gringas meticulously planned the details and coordinated the efforts of all of the subcontractors, while dealing with the unexpected issues that arose.  If Mike was not happy with the outcome ? it was done over to his satisfaction. This led to a delay in the schedule, but was well worth it.  The remodeled bathroom exceeded our expectations - thanks to Mike and his highly skilled team's diligent efforts. All of the employees and contractors were professional, punctual, and courteous.  We felt quite comfortable leaving them to work alone in our house when we had other commitments. The work and surrounding areas were kept clean and uncluttered.  No detail was overlooked, including professionally cleaning both the remodeled bathroom and nearby bedroom, raking the landscape rocks in our yard, and changing the air filter in the bedroom when the job was completed.  Shawn Vacca and his team at Mile High Tile did a superb job laying the tile.  Sean meticulously designed and aligned the diamond-shaped tile patterns, willingly cutting tiny pieces when necessary to ensure the proper placement of each and every tile.  Renovations and the great team they assembled did a fantastic job making my dream bathroom a reality and I would highly recommend them if you are considering remodeling!

Recent Review: Doug and his wife Erin are the talented and skilled folks who remodeled our bathroom. My wife and I wanted to have a nice custom bathroom that would feel a spacious as our tiny space would allow. The old bathroom was ill-designed and was starting to get mold due to poor construction. Doug came in, took a look at our tiny and cramped bathroom and did not cringe when we told him we wanted a double vanity in addition to making it look awesome! (How's that for precise direction? :-) ). Doug worked with us very patiently as we switched back and forth on what we wanted ("We don't know what we want, but we'll know it when we see it!"). Doug adapted his design very well to the style of the vanity, mirror and lights we purchased. Erin came in and did a killer job of balancing the tile colors, design, and layout with the size of the room and color of the furniture and walls. My wife and I are not designers, so Erin (thankfully!) let us know when we wanted to put too much into the little room we had. The bathroom turned out to be absolutely everything we hoped for! It is beautiful, show home quality work!  The master bathroom is now the best part of our home by far! My wife and I are very happy with everything. I wish I could upload a picture to show how beautiful our bathroom looks!  Best of all, the work came on budget! I should say I am a stickler for details (tiny things just jump out at me), and the level of worksmanship in this project is extremely high. Little, hard-to-notice things are done well and are well thought-out. Things that could have been done sloppily because they will be out of sight anyway are done well as if they were front and center of every visitor. I love the level of quality put into this project. Every detail is planned for and taken care of. Doug is a real pro at this. Even though the bathroom is off the master bedroom, Doug kept the space and our bedroom clean. We expected dust and a mess, but that never happened. Doug had to work every day while our kids (2 and 3 years old) were napping, and he was 100% successful in not waking them up, even though we did not ask him to keep quiet, it does not make sense to ask for quiet in the middle of a remodel job! My point is that Doug and Erin are considerate above and beyond the call of duty.  It was a pleasure having them work on our home. If it sounds like there are not enough good things I can say about our experience in this remodel, you're right.  Everything turned out better than expected. Doug and Erin somehow figured out what we wanted even though we were not good at expressing it in precise words.  In the future as we continue to remodel and update our home, Doug and Erin will certainly be the folks we call. Doug and Erin are highly recommended!

Recent Review: Great!!  The demolition was done before the holidays, and then the company had time off.  But once work resumed in Jan. they continued each day with new construction aspects.   The plumber accepted my husband's late extra plumbing demands and did them for us for time and costs.   The tile crew was truly exceptional and the results are fabulous.  The boss was great in that any of my concerns or issues on the project were addressed/fixed to my satisfaction.  There were times when items ordered were not correct or damaged, but I really don't know who's fault that was.  Overall great crew to work with!!

Recent Review: My problem with the company was the poor performance, poor communication and poor time management.  We signed the contract on July 21rst.   The company finally removed all the tools and what not on November 8th.  Even then it was a mess.  Every day they left  was a mess.  They did not seem concerned they were walking on nice a wood floor.  Although they had put down runners the runners were regularly a bunched up mess.  Residue and garbage floating endlessly.  Initially,  we were told the job could be finished within a few weeks as it was essentially a clean palate with it having been mostly deconstructed.  Each day was a crap shoot  to see if anyone was going to show up.  The owner of the company and myself the main contact peoples.  He would talk to me over the phone or text,  or in person and assure me everything was on schedule but it was not.  Even when I would ask he would have a well thought out excuse as to why things were the way they were and not as promised.  He was a good word dancer and loved hearing himself talk about himself.   At one point I said "In these times it is a good problem to have too much work.  Now you have to manage your time and employees better."  He continually disregarded this project because I was understanding and it was my fault I did not press him.  I admit that and ask at the same time...if you have contracted someone why would they put you in the position to micro manage them when that is the last thing they want?  He did not like confrontation so when my husband stepped into the picture he crumpled and fled.  With little care, his workers finished what was required and they fled too.  Leaving a trail of whats....what's this?  What happened here?  Are they done?  He finally called me and said "I'm done with this "sh*t and all your drama."  This bathroom was my father's bathroom and it's a fine bathroom though not completely finished as we had discussed.  I too, was happy it was over and did not persue any further.  We can finish the small stuff.

Josh and the subs he hires were detail oriented, very professional, and generally nice guys. I often left the workers on their own to attend lunches, meetings, etc. I never once felt uncomfortable doing this. I have plans for more projects and they will be whom I call.

On time as scheduled and the work was completed in a professional manner.  Doug texured the walls in a bathroom remodeling project and I am most pleased with all aspects of his work.  I do not believe it necessary or professional to list the price paid for services.  It was very reasonable.

I called 3 contractors to get an estimate on the remodeling we wanted.  Doug was the only contractor that answered his phone at the time I called.  I left messages with the other 2 contractors and they never even called me back.  Doug and his wife Erin came to the house to get the information for an estimate.  At the time I thought I knew what I wanted, but they came up with some ideas that I would have never thought of (which I used).  He gave me the estimate in the time frame promised and also started the job in the time frame we agreed to.  The master bathroom had a small shower and garden tub (which I never used).  We needed a bigger shower and Doug was able to remove the tub and replace it with a beautiful tiled shower.  I did not know what kind of tile I wanted in the shower so I just told Doug to go with and do what you want.  It turned out beautiful and is the envy of the neighborhood.  In the guest bathroom Erin came up with the idea to put a glass tile frame around the fiberglass tub and shower that we were not replacing.  That little feature made a world of difference in the look of the bathroom and really made it look custom.  The lights, cabinets, counters, mirrors, hardware, toilets and flooring were changed in both bathrooms.  The kitchen was the biggest change.  All the flooring was changed from laminate to 18 inch tile flooring.  I was going to replace all the cabinets to a darker wood and to have a couple of cabinets larger to give more of a customized look to the kitchen.  Doug suggested that I have the old cabinets refaced and just replace 2 cabinets for the dimension I wanted.  The cabinets came out beautiful and is just the look I wanted.  All the fixtures, granite counter tops, and back splash are just stunning and went way beyond my expectations.  There were a few changes that I made as the job progressed that Doug took in stride.   During the entire remodel, Doug always made sure that I was able to live in the house with a working bathroom.  Having both bathrooms remodeled at the same time made it a little challenging.  Doug also kept everything as clean as possible during the entire 2 months it took for this project. My husband was not home at the time of the remodel and all he could say when he got home was "this belongs in a magazine". We are both very happy with the out come of our home.   We highly recommend Doug for any construction project you may have.
