Recent Review: I was searching for a cheaper alternative to home security monitoring. My family and I are on a tight budget, and we could not afford the steep charges from Suddenlink and other local home security providers for their systems. The two things causing the services to be so expensive were: (a) the cost of the monthly phone service we would need, since we don't have home phone service, and (b) the cost of the monitoring itself. We would had to pay about $80 a month, or more with these traditional companies! Thankfully I found NextAlarm after some careful googling. They are a fraction of the price of any of their competitors. Their system appeals to me, because it uses the internet rather than a phone line, saving lots of money. Their monitoring itself (done in the traditional way, with real people in a dispatch office) is also substantially cheaper on top of that. I paid $250 for the home security kit and now I only pay $13.50 per month for the monitoring! Its so cheap that the costs are literally offset entirely by the savings to my homeowner's insurance premium. The support staff at NextAlarm are great. They are so patient, and they will help you with anything related to your system. I have called them numerous times with little questions about this or that, and they are always super nice and knowledgable. They even walk you through how to make changes to your security system, step-by-step, when you want to change delay or change the programs. Please make note of the fact that they do not have a local installer to do the installation. The third-party vendor who offers an and quot;Instal cardand quot; will not be able to install your service in East Texas (they will refund your money once they see where you need the installation). Point being, you will need to hire a local handyman to install the home security system for you. As I already mentioned, I used Stephan du Toit -- (www.facebook.com/professionalhandymanservices). He charged my $60. Besides that little hiccup, NextAlarm is amazing. In summary, I love my service. I hope more people in my area sign up with them. It is such a great deal and they're so great!
Recent Review: Everything went great. I got the system a few days later and started to install it. All the devices were easy to put up all told it took about 45 minutes to get up and running. During the install I set the alarm off and Getsafe called me right away. I like the way it looks in my home and by that I mean I hardly notice it is there. I like being able to control the system from my phone and being able to check on my house with the camera when I am away.
Recent Review: It started with the name Pinnacle. It started going downhill maybe when somebody else bought it. My husband picked them. He had a cold call and then he went with it. I think we had another system at that time.
Recent Review: I have had 2 major system failures with NorthStar since the end of January. The first one was discovered during an actual home invasion in which the alarm company did not contact police or any of my emergency contacts. Luckily, I was not incapacitated by the intruder and was able to call 911. The second failure with NorthStar occurred this week when my motion detector on my window was triggered and my siren did not sound. I was asleep and woke up to police at my door 20 minutes after the alarm was triggered. Despite my system failing to perform basic functions during two critical situations in less than 4 months, NorthStar is refusing to let me out of my contract unless I pay them $2,204.51. Below are some of my recent interactions with the company after extensive hold times: Cole in customer service- I spoke with him on Tuesday and he assured me a manager would call me on Wednesday. I never heard from anyone. Steven in technical support- He yawned in my ear and told me I would have a new sensor to replace my faulty one within 5-7 business days during which time I would have to bypass the sensor on my window. Linda the manager- I spoke with her last night after I had to call again due to not hearing from anyone on Wednesday. She confirmed I could not get out of my contract without giving NorthStar more of my money. She provided me with the address where I can serve a lawsuit for breach of contract. Ashlyn in customer service- I spoke with her to request a copy of my contract. She never sent it. David in customer service- I spoke to him to get the contract Ashlyn never sent.
Recent Review: I compared 3 companies & Tekna was better price wise & quality of devices. The only install costs were for additional devices - the basic coverage required no fees for devices. I added additional glass breakage sensors & key fobs. The monthly monitoring was also less than my other 2 options. My install includes cell phone access to status, history, & off/on. The touch sensitive screen is much easier to use than our daughter's key pad security system. The install was soon after contract signing. And no fees for most maintenance, such as repositioning door or window sensors. Quality product & service at the best price.
Reviews in Old Oraibi for Security Camera Installation
Sales lie to you. say one thing and do another from the start. sales said the cost for everything to install the cams would be 316.00. the day installed I was billed 498.00. Additionally, I did not know the 316.00 was also taken out on my credit card also. The company just gave me the run around and when I wrote to Vivint's legal email (You can not speak to anyone except the customer retention) There was no response from them. The cams did not work properly as they only worked for 3 minutes then had to be rebooted. After numerous calls vivint sent out a tech that could not make the cams work either. They were returned that day. I never received the full amount for the cams that I paid. $316.00 and 498.00. After some months I received a parcel payment of 255.00 and then in the next month received 416.01 a total of 671.01. When I inquired about the missing amount I was stonewalled, lied to by half truths, and again I sent messages to their legal as that is the recourse you have. Vivint, inc said I owed them 129.00 for some type of fee when the installation was done. I know every conversation that you do with this company is recorded, beware. The people you talk with all want to place words into the conversation to trap you into saying something that will benefit the company. I went to the adjutant general of arizona and processed a complain and it is resolved but only to a point. 2 of the 3 items that I brought up were not addressed. The amount of 129.00 was removed from my bill. Vivint employs the use of robo calls if you are behind in payments. I did not pay their bill until this was resolved. Everyday I received a robo call from vivint. It is a harrassment tactic. Please go to the online better business web site for utah and read this companies business reports from their customers. CSECUR-TEC SECURITY SYSTEMS LLC
The company was eager and prompt about installing the system and then getting it, theoretically, "up and running." But they orally offered a 1 year service contract, then gave me a 3 year one to sign. Then, problems: the system was NOT connected to the central call number for emergencies, the home system phone number as listed with the central call number was incorrect so an alarm might not be recognized, and the different zones/stations were incorrectly noted for some windows. Secur-Tec came out within a day or two to rectify each of these problems, but it all should have been done right the first time. Additionally, Secur-Tec promoted the system as having a 4 day battery backup, but this is not currently true for my home system. The backup lasts for a few minutes without power. So I am contacting them yet again. My previous experience with alarm systems from other companies was far less time consuming and far more reliable.

The company responded very quickly and appropriately to help us to set up the system. Unfortunately 3 of the 4 window/door sensors did not function correctly and had to be replaced. This was understandably frustrating and time consuming for us. The company, however, did (without our asking) give us a free month of monitoring for our troubles in setting up the system.
