Recent Review: HandyPro of East Valley is not just excellent, but outstanding! From the free estimate to the final job, Heather Marquez, the owner, was professional, detailed and personable. Heather made suggestions I hadn't thought of and gave us options that saved us a lot of money. There was no pressure while we were in the decision making process, it was a pleasant experience in every way. While the install was going on, Heather actually swept out our garage. Highly professional, highly recommended.
Recent Review: Ric and Crew were responsive and delivered a great product that will last for 20 years. The old Red Wood deck served us well but did not look near as good as the new composite deck does.
Recent Review: We called on Monday, and Dave came promptly Tuesday morning. On the initial walk through of the tasks, Dave realized he would need some additional hardware to properly install the grab bar so he made a trip to Home Depot. Upon his return, he started working on installing the first ramp at the front door. He quickly determined that the style of ramp I had purchased would not allow the screen door to open and close. Instead of scrapping the task and leaving me with the headache of returning the ramp I bought, Dave figured out a way to make it work, even though that meant another trip to Home Depot and grinding off the tip of one of the raised sides to allow the screen to clear. Upon installing the grab bar, Dave was knowledgeable about proper placement of assistive devices. He was also very friendly, even with my dogs, and worked cleanly and efficiently.
Recent Review: Pretty well. The main negative is that the invoice was not detailed to show matterials and labor. The worker sometimes arrives in clothing that is heavily torn and nearly falling off. This gives an unprofessional appearance.
They were prompt on the first visit out to look at the job. After that we had scheduling glitches which is understandable in some cases. The issue came up with when the deck finally did get sealed it was not done right. No prep work was done, spots were missed and it looked bad. When Mike asked if I was happy he seemed surprised I said no I sent pictures and asked him to come look at the work, because if it was his house he would not like it either. ( I had not paid them at this point) His understanding was we never talked about prepping the deck only staining it. (any one knows you have to prep wood) Well they came out this past week sanded the areas and prepped it. It was to rain Friday they came and covered the deck. They came Saturday to stain the deck even though the forecast called for rain. We were told it should be ok for light rain. Well everyone knows what kind of storm hit the west valley. It poured, and of course the stain/weatherproofing is not repellant any longer, as it wasn't even dry when the rain hit. My house has now stain on it and so does my patio that is underneath..Mostly from them missing the rails and letting the stain drop. My bots are half stained others aren't. I feel I am out my 600.00 and I am still not happy with the work. Now I just need to figure out if I want to deal with this company any longer to get it done right. Third time a charm???

He's redoing a bathroom, front porch, and a walkway ramp. He's doing a great job. What I like about him, is that he does what he says he's going to do!

BMy House Dr.
He did an okay job since he was not refinishing the entire cabinet, but I (probably unrealistically) expected them to look better, especially the countertop touch-up. Clive was great, though.

I am a disabled Veteran confined to a wheelchair. I contacted Mike with Peak one because he has worked with Veteran Affairs to do home modifications . I have be granted a modification grant from the VA in the amount of 67K to get my home equipped for my disabilities. This company came out to my home, did an assessment, took photos and measurements and then... Never followed through on producing a bid. My wife emailed over 5 times and even placed multiple phones calls. In fact- she supplied them with a copy of a bid from another contractor (something that is not customary) so that it may aid in their proposal. Still no response. As I stated- I have disabilities that produces daily struggles in my life - a communication with a Contractor or company should not be an additional burden. Communication is something that is important. This company completely fell off and did not provide a reason as to why. Wasting my time .

We agreed to divide into 2 parts due to time constraints, John R was the contractor. He did an excellent job.. I would recommend him personally and the company overall for such an organized professionally competent "total effort". Some points to ponder,,, 1 John is not available for the summer (ahh the independence of retirement!)... 2 Factor in at least 50% more for the overall price. They quote on direct labor only... so... if the labor quote is $600 and it requires parts add $300... it may ease the "sticker shock"....

We are over the moon with our 2 beautiful bathrooms!! Don (owner) was on the job with his crew almost every day working and supervising his employees. Everyone from demo to the final paint job was professional and courteous. At the end of each day Don told us what time the crew would arrive the next morning to start work. With the exception of a hand full of days the crew was on the job working every day. The floor plan in the master bathroom was changed from the original builder footprint. Don knew just what had to be done to make our ideas happen. One of Don's strong points is his many years of experience in the building trades. He was able to overcome obstacles and produce a unique and beautiful product for us. He freely shared his vision and excellent ideas. Many of his ideas were better than ours. He brought a unique vision to our bathroom remodel. I am a big fan of the Houzz website. The master bath was to have porcelain Carrara tile along with genuine Carrara countertops and chair rail. One of Don's "things" is that when the same materials meet each other on a vertical and horizontal plane that meeting place needs to be interrupted by a different material. I had never seen that on any of the hundreds of photos I had looked at. I trusted Don and his idea worked out to be one of the striking design statements in the bathroom. Nobody else has a bathroom like ours. We had a large furniture cabinet with 2 large mirrors that Don had to integrate into a wall tile and chair rail wainscot. He accomplished this seamlessly. He worked to find ways to help us save money...yes, save money. When I asked for a separate make-up area he had a custom cabinet builder design, build, and paint the cabinetry. One of our requests was for a large shower with a long bench that would allow us to be independent and age in place. It needed to accommodate a walker or wheelchair if we needed one in the future. Don reinforced any walls he anticipated might need grabs bars. He also found decorative grab bars that closely matched our new shower heads and faucets. We used these grab bars as towel bars. This bathroom does not scream "old lady" in any way. It is stylish, functional, and safe Don also identified that the entrance to the toilet area needed a wider door in order to accommodate a walker or wheelchair if one was needed in the future. My husband and I are in our 70's. We have always done all remodeling work on our houses ourselves in order to save money. This is the first time we have turned over a job to a contractor. Even with our many years of experience, we could not have created the unique and special bathrooms Don created. I am a "control freak". We turned over the house to Don for 2 weeks while we went on a 12 day cruise to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. I did not worry one second. I knew Don would take care of everything. He only called us once while we were away to tell us the Italian trough sink we had purchased before we met him would not fit in American cabinetry. He had already picked out a replacement, emailed us a photo with pricing and that problem was solved in 5 minutes. He had used this particular trough sink in another job and he knew it would work for our application. We interviewed 4 contractors and spent 5 weeks interacting with them before we made our final decision. We chose Don for all of the above reasons. Don's bid was the most expensive. Part of the reason is because Don and his crew had to drive 1 1/2 hours each way to the job site. In addition, we paid a little extra for Don's expertise and connections. It was well worth it. Don's personality factored into our decision also. He is honest, straightforward, competent and a positive person. He always had a smile on his face even when there were hiccups. We were new to the whole "Draw" and "Change Order" process. All of Don's invoices were clear with detailed pricing and there were no surprises. I really depend on Angies List reviews. I can applaud Angies List for awarding Don multiple years of "Super Service Awards". Over the years he has consistently worked to a high standard and he deserves the recognition. We feel very lucky that Don was our contractor. We think very highly of him.
