My first experience with AirTime was good. I spoke with someone (the owner, I think) on the phone about my A/C unit, and I subsequently purchased a 20-pt A/C tune-up for $49 through Angie's List. The communication to schedule the tune-up was very good, the tune-up went fine, and the tech was professional and polite. I was having an issue with my evaporative cooler, so the tech inspected it and then told me about its condition and what might be going on with it. Based on that conversation, I decided that I would probably just have the cooler removed since I didn't find it to be all that useful and didn't want to pay for any more repairs. The tech said he would have someone call me with a quote to remove the cooler (he even wrote that on the invoice); however, I never got a call. When water began to continually run off my roof from the evaporative cooler, I gave AirTime a call to see if they wanted to give me a quote for removal of the cooler and if they could also stop the flow of water in the meantime. They scheduled a tech to come and take a look at it, and I paid $59 for a service call. The tech said that he bent the float so that the pan wouldn't fill with water, and as a result, water would no longer run off the roof from the cooler. He said someone would get back to me within a few days with a quote for removal of the cooler, and he said he would even deduct the $59 service call charge from the removal cost. I thought that was nice but also unnecessary; however, it never actually happened. I never did hear back from anyone at AirTime, and I did make two follow-up calls to them. Even though I know there is no shortage of HVAC companies in the Phoenix area, I did want to give AirTime a chance due to what I then thought was good service up to that point. When I called, the person answering the phone sounded clueless (definitely not the person who my first contact was with), and she wasn't very professional. During one of the calls, she abruptly put me on hold, but it wasn't silent - I could hear her having a conversation with someone (sounded like a delivery person). Both times I called, she assured me that someone would get back to me within a couple of days. Not only did no one call me back, but water also started running off the roof again from the cooler within a couple of weeks, so the "fix" the tech claimed he did to stop the flow of water was not effective. At that point, I gave up on AirTime and got quotes from three other companies to remove the evaporative cooler from my roof. I selected the one with the best price, and the problem cooler is now gone. I won't use AirTime ever again because of this experience. If they weren't interested in the job of removing a cooler from a roof, that's all they had to say, and they wouldn't have lost my business for other HVAC work.
