Recent Review: During the initial quoting, service tech seemed more interested in selling additional tune-up services than quoting the duct installation. Once he switched off his and quot;salesman hatand quot;, he was very thorough in checking and re-checking to ensure the installation was within building code specs. The day of installation, the installers had a few issues initially at the beginning because they did not have the correct parts and had to go back to Home Depot which delayed the installation. They also had problems with their drill batteries overheating. I had to loan them my Dewalt drill in order for them to finish the job in a reasonable time.

Recent Review: The estimate was provided along with assurances about how a quality job would be done. However that quality did not translate into the actual work. A couple of examples: The venting that was installed at the edge of the porch ceiling was short by about two inches. Instead of cutting another piece and installing the correct length, the hole was left. The "helper" that painted the replaced porch ceiling oversprayed paint everywhere. I was cleaning droplets of paint off of pavers, lighting fixtures and even bird feeders. Inside, the installation of the range hood was a disaster. Instead of using a router to create an even cut on the cabinets, a hand saw was used. Cabinets were overcut, extended cut lines were left in the wood and the wood covering looked like it had been cut by blindfold. The "fix" for all of this was to try and cover it all with caulk (the caulk color was a complete mis-match). The actual range hood venting needed some special ductwork which I was told would be made and available in a week. After about three phone calls asking when it would be done, he finally came back to install the ductwork. The piece of ductwork doesn't not fit correctly and when the vent was turned on air pours out of leaks. The sad thing is that he knew it, but left it anyway. I am going to have to have all of it removed and redone. Update 3/8/2011 - True to form, there has been no effort to contact me. The company knows that poor quality work was done and updates this report to make it appear that they are concerned about results but doesn't actually follow though.

My House Dr.
Recent Review: We used My House Doctor based on a Big Deal coupon.  Sometimes you wonder how well it will go bsed on so many various factors, but it was very good.  They sought to clearly understand our needs and we emailed pictures for clarity.  The work was performed as expected and we would recommend this to everyone.

All American Design and Construction LLC
Recent Review: This is the second project that we've had All American Design and Construction complete for us.   We were pleased with the work Karl and his team had completed for us (you can read the review) on the first project for our pantry.  I mentioned to Karl that I wished our builder could have put in a kitchen range hood over our island where our cook top is.  The builder insisted that they could not install a range hood because there was no way to vent it outside of the house from the center of the kitchen, and especially because our kitchen is on the first story of a two story home.  Karl said he had completed a project for another client with a similar situation and it was successful.  We were excited to hear this, so we found some pictures that were taken while the home was in construction, shared it with Karl, and he said it could be done! We gave some ideas of what we were looking for in a kitchen range hood, and we also needed to replace our cracked glass cook top, so Karl researched some models and designs.  We picked a range hood and glass cook top and he was able to get them at a great deal for us.  The total cost of the project included the purchase of these 2 items. Karl,  Bob, the electrician, and Reuben, were the same team that completed our first project so I was happy to see that there wasn't a turnover in people when they came to start this project.  It was completed within 4 days, and 2 of those days were just waiting for the appliances to be delivered.  We were expecting a lot more cuts in our ceiling and walls, but to my amazement, Karl cut out just what he needed to climb into the ceiling and pulled the ducts through and to the outside wall location.  The cook top that we chose was slightly larger than our original one so they had to cut the granite to make it fit.  He advised me that the granite could split, but his work is always so careful that it was fine, and the cook top was a perfect fit. We have now been turning on our range hood when we cook on our new cook top and I love that it vents outsides!  In most homes, even if you have a vent, it just sucks up the smoke and vents it back into the house.  We recommend Karl and his team at All American Design and Construction for any job, big or small.  If we find something else that needs work, we will be calling him again!

Recent Review: Trevor, John, and Mario are fantastic. They are highly skilled, reasonably priced, efficient, practical, reliable, and very easy to work with. They have presented workable solutions to many questions or problems we have had, are cost conscious, and do not sell up customers. I look forward to dealing with them in the future and recommend them to others without reservation.

Paul's Handyman Service LLC
Recent Review: Paul is a very busy guy.  We were lucky he was able to squeeze us into his schedule.  We had had new counter tops installed and wanted Paul to do the final installation of the new appliances, sink and plumbing.  We scheduled for an afternoon.  Complications delayed his arrival until almost early evening.  However, by agreement, we proceeded and he said he would stay on  the job until finished.  It was nearly midnight when Paul left, but true to his word, he completed all of the agreed tasks.  Paul knows his stuff, is a careful and considerate worker and will not attempt tasks for which he does not feel he is best qualified.  I am rather handy myself, but chose not to tackle these projects.  In observing Paul, I was impressed by how knowledgeable and skilled he was with these kinds of projects.  I will not hesitate to use Paul again for handyman kind of projects.  His prices are very reasonable.

Paint lines where wall meets the ceiling were terrible. Tape still left on and around range hood, and did not appear to have used painter's tape. 2 guys for 4 hours, and just managed to get just kitchen done?

Went very well. Bob did the estimate, but wasn't able to start work for a few days. While I was out of town, Bob completed all of the work. As far as the drywall repairs went, you can't tell it was ever damaged! Prior patch jobs stand out, but the work Bob did is unnoticeable. The best part is that Handyman Connection stands by their estimates. I was given a ''no less than'' and a ''no more than''. Even though the work took about twice as long, I didn't get charged more than the maximum.
