Master of Wood Floors in Phoenix Arizona
Recent Review: Gaby and his crew did an excellent job laying about 650 ft of Bamboo I had picked up from LL. I had planned to do the install myself, but we had company coming and time was slipping away. Gaby charged a very reasonable price for the install using all the materials I had purchased and the only upcharge that he quoted upfront was undercutting the baseboard to eliminate the need for quarter round at the edges. The floor looks amazing and I can't thank Gaby enough for completing our project so quickly. Even though he had estimated 2 days to complete everything they came in and got it all done in just 1. Amazing, considering it would've taken me at least 6 days by myself.

Recent Review: AZ Hardwood was contracted to install our bamboo flooring.  Everyone was great, from our salesman to our installer.  It took a little longer than expected to obtain the bamboo from the supplier but that was not AZ Hardwood's fault.  Once they received the floor, everything went like clockwork.  The installer was on time and very professional.  They delivered our flooring on budget as well, which was great.  I'd gladly recommend them to anyone looking for hardwood flooring.  It's all they do and it shows.

Recent Review: Removal of tile and disposal went well. Bamboo floor installation took a few weeks more than initial estimate of a few days. John was there for very little of the work. He sent someone else who complained anytime we explained our preferences and showed poor work ethic and craftsmanship in several instances. All that remains to be done at this point is the installation of transitions and gap filling. After a few months of trying to get this final touch up work done we gave up. John Baroldy is capable of coming up with more excuses than anyone I've ever met: He lost his cell phone twice, dropped it once, had a car accident, and fired the guy that was doing all of his work in the several months we were unfortunate enough to know him. I strongly recommend staying away from his services.

Recent Review: We would never use this company again.  It has taken me awhile to write this because we loved one of his workers, Mario.  We would hire Mario again in a heartbeat.   The guy in charge of this company gave us a whole song and dance when we were deciding to use him.  He told us he would have a team of 5 guys working on the project.  He said he likes to treat the houses as if they were his own house.  He told us the project would take a max of 5 days.  The truth - he only sent one guy one the first day.  The next 4 days we only had 2 guys.  He only showed up on the job once or twice for an hour or so.  They charge $100 per room to move furniture out of the room yet some of our furniture was damaged and I had to make a case to him so that we could get a $100 discount.  We asked him if the transition pieces would stay in place and said we were concerned because the bamboo flooring was higher than the tile.  He swore they would stay glued down - - they didn't.  One of the workers used less glue under neath the bamboo flooring and so now we have a ridge in the middle of our living room floor.  The job took 7 days instead of 5 days.  The last day they were rushing so much we had to remind them of things they forgot to do. It was obvious that this company just started.  When you work with this company they do not seem proud of their work - they seem to think about the money only.  (Except for Mario - we feel lucky that he was there to do part of the flooring.)

Carman Brothers Flooring
Recent Review: Carman Brothers Flooring was referred to me in 2007 by aka Green to install bamboo flooring in my home. This year I was able to finish by having the living room done. Altogether they have installed approximately 1500 sq ft of flooring and it was beautifully done. The product was ordered through akaGreen where Nathan picked it up and brought to my home to acclimate before installation. Nathan and brother Justin arrived promptly at 8 a.m. the day of the install and worked long and hard, completing the job by about 7:30 p.m. The job included putting trim at the bottom of the baseboards as well. The floor was cleaned and furniture placed - even putting protectors on the bottom as needed. I couldn't be happier!

CLUMBER LIQUIDATORS
I think I paid probably 5 grand for the flooring and then another 4 grand for installation. The service was quick. They were able to get my product in really fast and ready to install pretty fast too. They did a very bad job of installation. There were two issues that I had altogether with the company. One, they had a price match guarantee that within a month if the price went down I would get refunded. Well, the day after I had bought my hardwood flooring and had gotten it delivered, they had a sale for the taxes to be paid on it. I called them up and I asked them. Corporate said since it was a local deal the only way I'd be able to get it back is from the store I got it from. I called them and they said, "Well, for that type of deal for you to get it back you'd have to return all of the flooring and do the sale again and by the time we charged you delivery and return you wouldn't get your money back anyway." So I felt that was very, very rude and kind of sketchy for them to advertise that and then go ahead and tell me, "No, we won't give you your money back." It would have been like $700 or $800. If they would have told me the day ahead of time that if I had just waited one more day, that I would have gotten a better discount that would have been really nice of them as well, but they didn't. Then the other issue was with the installation. They had a third-party company come in and do the installation. Through the installation they had broken the tracking on one of my doors by rolling over a power cord that they had run through my house outside. They had run the door over it and broke the tracking on it. A lot of the hardwood flooring is starting to come up and bubble like there is creaky spots. When they installed it I told them that, "Hey, I can stick a coin in between the wood. Is this appropriate?" They said, "Yeah, we need that space for it to expand and contract over the winter." Well, I don't really feel like I should be able to stick a quarter in between the wood planks. And last but not least, I had just painted the entire house and they had gotten sealant all over my walls and I was never able to get it out. I called them out on this. I called Lumber Liquidators out on this and nobody felt like it was their responsibility to fix it.

DSpecialized Flooring
First, late twice, never bothered to call until I called the manager a couple times. When ever a service provider is coming, give a call, especially if you are going to be late. I had to have them come at 6:00A.M. because the first time their truck had a flat. Wasn't until several hours later I found out about it. So, I needed to leave the home by 7:00, and because of them being late and slow, didn't get out until 7:30. Apparently I needed to baby sit these folks, as there are gaps between the boards (pain to clean), gap at the end of one of the boards, base boards done sloppy and need to be now painted, and the back door doesn't close right. In short, no pride in workmanship! Tried for over a month to get a hold of them, but got nothing but excuses; the customer is always right! Then when I asked for the job to be corrected, Roland went very aggressive and mean, including telephone harassment. I called a mediator and David got it set up for the workers to come back. When I finally get the fellow out, and he doesn't have his tools to fix the door! Said David's fault as didn't know he was fixing the threshold. Said he call when he had a chance to swing by, but give me a couple days notice. Well, the worker  called Tuesday while I was in the hospital and demanded to come over. I explained I was in the hospital but he said the only chance to have it corrected. Guess he wanted me to cut the I.V. lines and get a cabbie over to meet him? Luckily my Mother was visiting so he met him. Guess he decided he could take advantage of her, as the door is only slightly better! To top it off, he wanted the boards he left behind in the middle of the living room! He didn't ask the first time he came to fix the door and when I asked him to clean up the mess he had made (yes I left the trash they made so as could be taught how to be professional). Talk about taking advantage of women! Folks, if you are going to have workers from a lower social-economic culture, you must stand over them! Don't trust that they have the same values as others. Once you see they are doing well, back off so not a bother, but keep tabs. Over all, very disappointing. Yes, I needed to over see the job. But, with my Autism, I am a very trusting fellow and hard to get emotions. The job should have been easy to correct, however it wasn't. David really needs to get better equipment and hire more qualified team members (rather than workers) who at least understand English. If there is a response to this, be careful in accepting it! Roland isn't the nicest person to cross, so doubt he will take this easily. In short, hire at your own risk! I went by the great reviews and award, but apparently we are all not perfect. So, if you do hire, keep a close watch on them.

I was afraid my job was too small, but Greg came over and gave me a very fair estimate. I had to wait for a few weeks to get the job done, but it was more than worth the wait. Scott did a great job, and was very professional in his deportment. I'd really done a job on the floor, and while it still isn't perfect (never will be unless I replace the boards,) it is much, much better. Greg and Scott were both very forthcoming that the job wouldn't be perfect, but it's much better than I thought it could be. The estimate was dead-on, and I will absolutely use them again. "Angie's List" was great again. We've used it at least four or five times, and the reports have always been right on. Thanks so much for the service!
