RED OAK FLOOR CO
Recent Review: Service tech did not anticipate that the 13' x 16' windows along the front of the living room did not have adequate UV protection, and the polyurethane coating dried on top before the underneath dried, causing gas bubbles to surface.  Consequently approximately 350 sq ft of the flooring had to be redone.  This company quickly redid the floors (allowing for the sun) and they are beautiful.  Only hassle for me was the additional time and effort to reclean after the second sanding.  Owner was very responsive and quick to rectify the issue.  Would definitely recommend them.

Custom Hardwood Floors Inc
Recent Review: Jeff the owner did a terrific job.  I had tried everything to remove the haze myself for a couple of years with no success.  Jeff came to my house with a great product that worked like a dream.  It removed all of the surface dirt and left the floors very clean and clear.  Jeff even left me with the product he used so I could spot clean or do the entire floor myself again in the future.  He was very professional and courteous and his price was very reasonable.  I highly recommend Custom Hardwood Inc and would use him again in the future.

Superior Hardwood Floors
Recent Review: Superior Hardwood floors did an amazing job!  We called them late one evening and they were able to come out the very next morning.  They told us what needed to be done, where to buy the hardwood floors and they did everything else.  They picked up the flooring when it came in and installed it soon after.  I would highly recommend them.  If we need hardwood floors in the future, we will definitely be calling them back.

Randal has been great to work with.  Very honest and conscientious with his work.  Completed some work during times when I couldn't be there and I never had to worry about anything.  Will gladly use him in the future.  His costs were very reasonable.

ACustom Hardwood Floors Inc
Summary: Excellent and better than expectations in all areas from initial estimate, price, schedule to completion. Details: I seriously believe the adage, "Someone up there must like me!" regarding my hardwood floors. I had explored numerous options for the floors during my complete remodel of this old house. I could not find a reliable repair service for the damaged 30 sq ft boards. Nor could I find a suitable DUST FREE hardwood floor refinisher at a reasonable price. Just when I was deciding to put down vinyl, I saw Jeff Head's truck down the street working on a 100 year old damaged wood floor. The results down the street were spectacular! I called Jeff's number from the side of his van. We discussed my needs and he showed up the next morning right on time (5 min early.) He presents very well: experienced, competent, and honest. He gave me a written estimate on the spot and agreed to begin the next week.  Jeff and his adult son arrived right on time to begin the job. He always went the extra yard as seen by his culling through my replacement boards to get the best match and  then "feathering" them in to hide the repair. The repaired 27 sq ft area is not detectable without prior knowledge. One room had some 3 sq ft of "cupped" boards likely from a defective hot water heater in the 1970's. He was able to smooth them and they, too, are not detectable. I put in a new air filter prior to his work and changed it upon completion. I was surprised to see how clean the filter was. His system is realistically dust free. Although I am particular, I cannot find fault with anything from start to finish.

ASuperior Hardwood Floors
Outstanding from start to finish! I spoke to Tim about refinishing my hardwood floors in my northwest AR home before I moved in. Since I was out of state prior to my move, everything was coordinated long distance. He was very familiar with the Bona Traffic product I wanted to use (I have dogs, so I wanted the hardest finish I could find). Timing was critical due to my move date, and Tim was able to squeeze my home project in with plenty of time left for the floors to cure to furniture-ready status. Tim and his crew arrived on time, and worked hard to get my floors looking new again. He was extremely patient as I had originally planned to go the same color or darker, but after he sent me pictures of the floors post-sanding, I was amazed at how beautiful the grains and knots were and asked him to go with a lighter color (which was honestly his suggestion in the first place). Tim sent many pictures throughout the whole process which was great. I have gotten so many compliments on my gorgeous floors! I am in love with these gleaming floors! It is obvious Tim strives for perfection. I was also pleasantly surprised when I received the invoice; I got a million dollar floor job for what I feel was a very reasonable price. Highly recommend Tim and his group! Thank you!

FCreative Home Solutions
We hired contractor, Aaron Smay of Creative Hardwood Floors, LLC, Neosho, MO, to lay tile in our basement family room and refresh the downstairs bath (new vanity top, light fixture, ceiling exhaust fan, towel racks , new faucets, new shower-head, and mirror). He presented himself as “not the typical contractor” and bragged that he treated each job like he was working on his own home. The night he came to do our estimate he asked if we had purchased our material yet. We said no, but had a few ideas from Lowe’s. He said he could get us his contractor discount if we wanted, and all he would charge us would be a “little gas money” to make the purchase and deliver the material. This sounded like a pretty good deal to us, so in the next few days we provided him with the item numbers of the tile we wanted. I left the grout color to him, but told him I wanted it to be the same color of the wood-look tile. He later texted me an amount of $1598.09 and boasted that he saved us 12%. I told him he could come by my home, Saturday March 11, 201, to pick up a check for the materials. That day he spent an hour and a half telling me several stories of his successful jobs and boasted about his workmanship. I, however, made the mistake of writing him a check for that exact amount without seeing an invoice or receipt but told him I would be expecting a receipt. This man never showed up before 10:30, worked 2-3 hours for five days. Day one (March 16, 2017) was carpet removal day, which he just heaped up on our back porch but said he would remove it the last day of the job. He started laying the tile on the next day and his work seemed to be satisfactory. Day three he showed me a small sample grout color he had applied between two tiles and asked if it would work. It seemed to match, so I said ok. Little did I know that when the grout dried it would be a much lighter color and not the look I told him I wanted. I’m sure he knew it would be lighter when it dried, but failed to mention that important fact. I trusted this man as a professional, and of all the mistakes we made with this contractor, this was the worst mistake of all. Day five (March 22, 2017) he showed up around 10:30 was finished by 1:30 and wanted to be paid for his labor, he said he wasn’t going to charge for the bathroom refresh ($350) as he did not complete it. This amount, however was not removed from the final bill he presented. I inspected the vanity top he installed and it was not placed squarely on the cabinet. I asked him to remove and replace it on the cabinet properly him and he refused. I asked for the receipt I had previously told him I was expecting, and again he refused. I told him I would not be paying him until he produced the receipt and he angrily shouted “I knew you were going to be like this” and called me a “psycho-b**ch. He got extremely inflamed, shouting profanities, and started removing the demolition debris from the bed of his truck and throwing it on the ground. Screaming he would throw a “f**king lien” on our house if we did not pay him. He physically threatened to go in and start tearing up the tiles with a crowbar. I ran in the house and locked the door, leaving him outside with my husband, but in hind-sight, I wish I had allowed him to do that. We could have pressed criminal charges. I ended up writing him a check for $1500.00 before we had properly inspected the finished (that is, partially finished, but he clearly thought it was complete) job. We just needed to get this maniac off our property. After he was gone, we inspected thoroughly and discovered two large dents in our drywall, misaligned baseboard, missing grout, damage to our $4000 leather sofa, and these are just the major things. Too late, we measure the SF and came up with 437 SF, but he bid the job at 530 SF, which adds $209.25 in false labor charges. We were also able to ascertain (directly from Lowe’s) the day before he started the job, he bought 500 SF of the tile we requested for the family room and 32 SF of tile for the bathroom and spacers for a total of $844.76 (I estimate $909.85 with tax) from Lowe’s. Figure another $100-150 in mortar and grout he purchased somewhere else or had leftover from another job, and we overpaid for materials by some $588. Deduct $75 for “gas money” he said he’d charge and we still over by $500 in false material charges. To say Aaron Smay is unprofessional would be an understatement of epic proportions. This man is dishonest, deceitful, provides shoddy workmanship and preys upon the good graces of the unsuspecting. We were completely duped, don’t make the same foolish mistakes we did. My husband gave Mr. Smay an opportunity to return and repair the damage he did and complete the project the afternoon of Friday March 24, 2017. He agreed by text message to return, but did not show.
