The appointment was scheduled by a telemarketing call! something I would not normally do. But the timing was right, as I had just determined it was time for clean carpets! Following the call, I did check Angie's List for recommendations before confirming the appointment. Having seen the company there, I went ahead. Make notes when you set things up, so you have questions answered regarding time and materials and price. My price ended up somewhat higher than the phone estimate because of the addition of an extra wool area rug and my under-estimate of the size of the larger wool rug. Michael, the tech, arrived on a timely basis, with a minor amount of equipment and material----a single, but heavy-looking machine with a large circular head at its base, a spray canister for pre-treating, and a small amount of cleaner which he mixed with a small amount of water for the machine, and brushes for hand-cleaning the wool area rugs. He came in his own truck (no logo displayed from the company) and was dressed very casually, but comfortably for the job. (This is no national company with a uniformed tech driving a van with logo!) He reviewed the order and took a look at each area to be cleaned. He measured the wool rugs for accurate pricing. He offered some additional services,(germicides, deodorizing.....this home is pet-less, smoke-less, ,etc., so I did not add to my order). I moved all small items of furniture, knick-knacks, plants, etc., myself which I had asked about ahead of time, as some cleaners, (this company as well), do NOT move furniture.......... The LR sofa was on and quot;slidersand quot; so it was easy for him, or me, to push aside for vacuuming and cleaning. He vacuumed everything before cleaning and also pre-treated with a light spray. A dry-foam product is used for cleaning, so carpets dried almost immediately.....loved that! He was logical in the order he cleaned: starting in the lower level, and finishing on the main floor near the front door. Working on his hands and knees for the wool rugs and steps is a tough job, and he was very diligent. He was here about three hours. He mentioned tipping was acceptable, and I did add 10%. The carpets and rugs look really good! I would use them again.
