Recent Review: We needed baseboards throughout the whole house. They were fast and did great work, as usual! We have actually had them do several jobs for us! Sheet rock, siding, deck addition, entire bathroom remodel and tile. We never even call anyone else!

Recent Review: Awesome! These guys are great. We bought a new washer and dryer but they were too wide for the spot in our older home; the only way to gain enough room was to remove the baseboard. Our baseboards are not standard; they are very intricate. They removed the baseboards, filled the nail holes, and painted the wall; it looks great and the washer and dryer fit like a glove. Thanks.

Recent Review: He was days ahead of schedule and completed the tasks from our (busted water pipe) damaged home. There were baseboards ripped from the walls, a large hole in the wall to assist in drying, and water damaged ceiling that he was able to seal and paint. David is a very good Master painter. He is very talented and knows his line of work. If I needed anything painted in the future... he would get the job. Also, David is a very pleasant individual and would get along with almost anyone.

Recent Review: Mr Branham farmed the work out to another friend of his due to illness, injury or too many commitments. I didn't appreciate it but I was desperate to get the incomplete work on the bathroom done. Took too long, short days, and messy. Didn't install the medicine cabinet in the wall as originally promised so lighting is shadowed. Completed bathroom patch, paint and popcorn ceiling knockdown, light and medicine cabinet, and baseboards. Finished bathroom is good except for the medicine cabinet issue as mentioned and the paint I picked chips.

Recent Review: I called to get an estimate to rehang an interior door, renail boards for my privacy fence, reattach baseboard moulding and review an exterior door for repairs. I was able to get an appointment for the following day (less than 24 hours). Jeff arrived on time. We took a quick tour of the items to be repaired. Two hours later, I had two working doors, moulding that looked almost brand new, and my privacy fence boards reattached. Sounds simple, but one of the doors had been severely damaged, and I was expecting to have to replace the entire door. Further, Jeff looked at ALL of my posts on my privacy fence (not just the three I had asked him to look at) and renailed ones that were about to need assistance... all in two hours (including a trip to Home Depot). I can not say enough about Jeff and Handyman Matters! I will use them again and again and again!

I had used this company several times previously and was always happy with Mike's work. This last time, he outdid himself. Early a.m., I was at the beginning of having my household stuff loaded for an interstate move, having sold the house, when I learned I had to act fast to have a repair done as part of closing the deal. I was leaving the next morning to move half-way across the country. Mike came over fast and took measurements to replace a fire door that I then had to special order from a Las Vegas vendor while in transit. The vendor's vendor messed up the drilling twice--it was a nightmare! Weeks later the door still could not be replaced, despite all best efforts. The problems with that door threatened the closing. Fortunately, the home's buyers acquired a small amount of common sense (at signing) to realize that no matter what, the door could not be installed before closing and signed. Mike stayed with me throughout all of this and went WAY WAY beyond the help me out in this ordeal (that even went past closing). I trusted him not only to do the door replacement job but also to go into the house after I left to do other, smaller, tasks and do the good. There are very few things I regret about moving. Losing such a wonderful handyman is one of them.

We have had many things done by A-State Handymen. Some of the most recent are a complete bathroom remodel, tile installation in multiple rooms, siding and drywall for a room addition, deck addition, baseboards throughout entire house. ALL of the projects they have done have been completed either on time or early and were always very reasonably priced. We have met many of the employees and they have always been super friendly and accommodating around our schedules. We will continue to use them for any future home improvement needs.

Jeff turned up exactly on time.  He ripped out the toilet, some tile and the carpet from the guest bath.  He put down a new backer board (which I hadn't thought to buy) and tile I had purchased and grouted the floor and then placed the new toilet.  He was very professional and courteous, laying tarp over the carpet leading to the bathroom and cleaning carefully when he finished.  He took off the baseboards and replaced them when done.  He listened to my concern about a vent under the vanity and dealt with it so it would be removable in the future.  He did a lovely job on the tile, laying it out brick fashion the way I wanted. I would have Jeff back for work in my home any time.

Quality of paint used was a contractors grade though we had requested a QUALITY paint be used. This caused us to have to pay for a second coat of paint that was not included in their original price/bid. Even though painting job did NOT include doors and baseboards, we have been scraping paint off them for months following the job. On the shower remodel they tried to get away with using some of the old drywall, and new common drywall (not properly backed, nor the proper drywall for a shower). We caught that and made them replace it with the correct material--hardy board. We gave them SPECIFIC size opening for the shower, and they ended up with an opening for the shower door 4 inches oversize. They also cracked some of the existing floor tiles of the bathroom, because the tiles were not properly protected during construction. They rebuilt the widened door jam with a cheap grade pine, rather than matching it to the existing surrounding smooth materials; this resulted with knots bleeding through the paint, and an extremely rough and ugly finish. The electrical hookup was left disconnected in the attic forcing us to hire an electrician to complete the electrical work by installing a junction box and installing the light fixture. When we contacted John Sobiech about these problems his response was an ugly email, full of insults and innuendos. We have since reported him to the Arkansas Contractors Board, and we are waiting a response on this. We definitely do NOT recommend Bella Vista Contractors. He TALKS a good game--but Beware of his work!!
