The desk on our house was two layers thick and very rotten. They showed up every day for two weeks on time and did not quit until the job was done. They were very clean and hauled off all the old debris. They were very knowledgeable and new their craft. The new deck looks great and will use them again. Overall and excellent job I would recommend them 100%

Terrible. Terrible power wash job, having to hire another person to redo it. Arrived with untreated lumber, had to go back and get treated lumber. Screwed in about 60 percent of 2x6’s left rest not screwed in. Joists need more sister boards, 2x4 ‘s treated., I feel it’s need more, some ends are kinda coming up. Only been 2 weeks. Terrible.

We have used David's service for many many years on our home inside and out. We have always been very excited with the results.  This summer we had a complete make over on the outside of our old house and again we are really happy with David and his men's work. All family, friends, neighbors came to look at it and like us they cannot believe it looks so good in the 30 years.  Other companies do not compare with his professionalism, price or personality.  We have plans for him to build a new raise deck in the back and we cannot wait for him to get started.  He is highly recommended.  Thanks again David! Bryan Hickman did an amazing job, was very professional and conscientious about his work. He planned. projected costs, and selected the materials required for each project. He was very knowledgeable about the steps required to complete each project. Kitchen remodel in rental home: Bryan tore out a non load barring wall and created an enlarged kitchen. He tore out all old cabinets and plumbing, installed new cabinets, new countertops, completed tile back splash, installed a breakfast bar, installed new plumbing and lighting fixtures and installed wainscoting in breakfast bar area and on the surrounding wall in kitchen. Bryan cut the front deck in half to bring it into a normal size and rebuilt the staircase on the deck. Bryan completely remodeled both bathrooms in my rental home and in the master bath installed a new updated tile shower and fixtures. At my personal home Bryan tore out and installed a new updated shower and fixtures in my master bath.

The rear deck was in complete disrepair. Bryan came out, and rebuilt the rotted spots. Power washed and sealed the entire deck. The deck is very large, so it was a 2 day affair. Overall very happy.

Custom Deckworks is just as the name implies, truly "custom", not only in the exceptional design skills and quality construction but in customer interaction.   I had to do some significant excavation and drainage work before even starting on a deck but wanted to get an idea on cost and some ideas. Chris (owner) gladly came out to do a sight survey, took some measurements and discussed my many wants and ideas. He explained several options and possibilities I hadn't even considered. I sensed he truly wanted to get a feel for how I wanted the finished deck to flow, look and function. A short time later he emailed me an amazing, custom designed, hand drawn - not cheap computer generated plan others provide, quality set of plans, drawn to scale, and a price quote. A few weeks later, after the excavation and retaining wall/drains were done, he again came back out. He had to redesign the plan because of retaining wall height/dimension issues (my fault). Again he re-measured and promptly emailed me a revised plan to work around the retaining wall that now cut right through the proposed deck. I am a stickler for quality workmanship, proper construction techniques and attention to detail so I asked to see some of the decks he had completed and without hesitation he said "sure", gave me several locations and types I could go see. I went to see a completed deck and one he was currently working on. After inspecting his work and meeting his foreman, John, I was very impressed and knew they would build my "dream" deck. Chris and John are both professional craftsmen and you can just tell they love and take pride in their work. At every point in the build they continued to amaze me with their abilities and attention to detail. Some of the many examples are: where one level of the deck met a brick staircase coming down from the house they scribed and custom fit each deck board to precisely fit the irregular brick face - they cut holes for the posts in the deck board and slide them over the exposed posts so you end up with a single board that fits perfectly instead of cutting a notch in 2 boards and butting them together (which would eventually separate, have a gap and just look ugly)  - the majority of my deck flooring was in a diagonal pattern and each required a slightly different angle (see out of square house/shop/pool above), every board was cut and fit precisely to provide a tight joint with no hint of a gap - etc. etc. With these guys there is no "close enough" it either fits or it doesn't and they work it till it fits!! Chris and John always promptly started work in the morning even on some frosty, windy, truly miserable days to stay on schedule. At the end of each day they cleaned up the job site of all scraps and organized their tools. The price quoted was the price paid, there were no hidden charges. Unless you just like talking to contractors call Chris first and you will get a truly "custom", professional, exceptionally well built, showpiece quality deck at a fair price!!!!!!  

We had them replace our rear deck about a year ago, did a great job. Posted a review here on that job. They did some external wood trim on the upper patio to tie things together. They pressured washed both decks. The new rear deck is a single level. The front deck has three levels. Were very clean during the pressure washing and ensured that no mess was left behind after. They stained the rear deck and made sure that everything was covered and sealed completely before starting. After they sprayed everything was cleaned very well. They spent a lot of time making sure that the siding on house was clean and free from any stain. After they painted the front after prepping the area completely. Gave the deck two coats of solid color stain. Gave the top deck a third coat because they were not happy with just two coats. Cleaned everything up and left nothing behind. Overall great job again by them and are planning on having them remodel our bathroom shortly.

I was extremely pleased with J’s Home Improvement. First their quote was lower than two other quotes I was given. In addition, there was no mark up on the cost of materials and no hidden costs or additional costs of any type. I paid exactly what they quoted in their written quote. They were on time, did the work in the amount of time they said it would take, and completely cleaned up after the project was completed. I plan to use them again when it comes time to stain the new addition to the deck in a few months. I would recommend them to anyone for their home improvement projects. Everything went great. Jason and Montana were easy to work with. Deck is approximately 20 feet up, so not the easiest job to do. Worksite was clean at the end of each day, which is very important to me. Also screened in underneath the deck (I probably have an unattainable dream to keep all bugs out).

Awesome Job. I am more than pleased with my project. Jason kept me aware of everything during the build. We will being using L & H for all the future project on our land.
