Recent Review: Appointment was easy to set up. Hired them to clean and inspect fire place and chimney prior to moving in. Steve and Mike were very professional. They called 15 minutes prior to appointment and asked if they could come early as already in the neighborhood. Did a very efficient job cleaning the fireplace. Gave me very useful information on operating the fireplace and gave me suggestions for maintenance on the chimney. They were done in about 45 minutes.
Recent Review: I contacted Steve by phone and left a message. He promptly returned my call and made an appointment. Steve has cleaned my chimney several times in past years and has always been courteous and professional. He also made a custom cap for me a few years ago after I had put siding on the house. I have always been very satisfied with his work.
Recent Review: They were very, friendly, fun loving people to work with. They knew exactly what I needed, a clean clean chimney, free of dirt, and dust. They delivered that, so I'd really recommend their services to other people.
Recent Review: 1) - cleaned fireplace logs with a brush, (I've done myself before) and told me that there is no adjustment needed, just clean logs regularly. (This is incorrect, used the fireplace only 1 time since then and logs are COVERED with ash/soot again - didn't used to happen in the first 5 years...) Charge: $69 for house call/cleaning of logs (did nothing to fix the problem). 2) identified the problem for the wet wall, repaired (replaced) a section of pipe with a hole in it. ($250 - original $69 house call for fireplace, plus tax). Follow-up phone call offering an annual maintenance service for furnace inspection for only $235(?) PER UNIT. When I did call (about 3-4 weeks later, Nov '17, the person I spoke with was unavailable, I left my name and phone number for her to return my call, never heard back - didn't bother calling again if they weren't interested in my business.)

This was for a post sale home inspection. They cleaned my chimney and offered a free inspection in which they wanted to say that my fireplace & some other chimney features are out of code ( our home built in 1988) . They said if we do not want them to write that - we need to sign off saying that we denied the inspection. Either would mean a few thousand in repairs + scare the new buyer . We did not want to not disclose this to new buyer as that would not be ethical. So I spoke with my realtor, a contact at my city office and another at my county office . All said that if that was the case all the homes in our neighborhood ( with hundreds of homes built in 88) would be out of code. And that such things are grandfathered in new codes to take into consideration not very recent constructions. We were advised to see the help of another qualified company - of course that meant we paid 2 times. They did not see any issues.

Very efficient, lot of soot removed from flue. Came in, did the job, and cleaned up without a lot of disruption. Not cold enough yet to burn wood to check it out.

We bought the chimney cleaning as an offer on Angie's List. The young man who performed the service, Jim Black, was punctual and very polite. HOWEVER, almost the first words out of his mouth were about duct cleaning. While he worked, i researched duct cleaning and found that it is unnecessary, does not improve the quality of the air in the home, and is often a scam. I am not saying that he was trying to scam me, as their website does list duct cleaning. I think that their service techs are taught to try to upgrade or up charge whenever possible. After inspecting our chimney, he told us that someone had tried to seal some cracks in the mortar with silicone and the cracks were spreading. He sealed them with a mortar compound and charged an extra $125. I did look at the material he used to be sure he wasn't also using silicone. The thing is, some of these supposed cracks were high in the chimney, and he knew good and well that I was not going to climb on the roof to check it out. So I do not know if we really needed it or not, though we did allow him to do it. This goes back to my earlier statement about up charges. When companies give you a "deal," they often get their full price with the extras they charge. All in all, I think he did a sufficient cleaning of the chimney.

I recently bought a 31 yr old fixer upper with a stone fireplace. I called to schedule an appointment and they were able to come out the same week I called. He arrived on time and did a thorough job. They covered the rug and floor for protection. I asked about a down draft in the chimney and he thoroughly explained the reason and offered suggestions how to overcome it. Very professional and thorough from start to finish. I would highly recommend.

Company had run out of deodorizer spray and could not spray anything after the cleaning. Then when we sold the house and had it inspected, we found they never even put the metal brush sweeper inside to clean the creosote. I had to complain and call the company back out to redo the job correctly. They did a great job the second time, it would have been nice for it to have been done the first time though.

Our fireplace wouldn't draw well and we needed a vent placed for our clothes dryer. Mr. Guypens came out and assessed our job within two days of our call in the middle of a snowstorm. He returned within 4 days and completed the job on budget and in about half the time he had estimated. The fireplace has worked well and we have used it several times a week since the repair. The dryer is in an awkward place in the basement. He discussed all of the options for the vent with us before the work was done. The vent now exits the house unobtrusively behind a bush and we can use our dryer. We are delighted with the work and recommend his company to anyone looking for chimney repair or a dryer vent.
