Recent Review: We had a good experience with Brazilian Direct. They came in and got the job done. They weren't on their cell phones or running back and forth, wasting time. They worked really good as a team, together. They were responsive to what I wanted. They were prompt and exactly on time.

Recent Review: Beautiful product, good prices. Only issue was a delay in shipping of several weeks due to inventory. This delay caused issues with scheduling on a whole-house renovation and it would have been quite useful to know about upfront, rather than having to call them repeatedly for updates. When the flooring finally arrived, weeks late, it was beautiful and in very good shape. I would use them again, but I would order much earlier than needed to allow for any delays.

Recent Review: I really couldn't be happier with the price, process and outcome of my kitchen remodel! Dream Kitchens gave me exactly what I wanted when other companies told me no. I never had to compromise. The entire remodeling process was very organized and Gary was great about keeping me updated on what was happening and when. Start to finish the project was completed in five weeks! I love, love, love my new kitchen; it is the kitchen of my dreams! Thank you Dream Kitchens!!

They put down hardwood floors in my house. I am very happy with what they did. The price was very reasonable. They were very professional. I would use them again.

carpets looked like new and wood floors great, but they didn't move beds or dressers, etc to get under them

I had a roof leak that caused damage to hardwood flooring in a bedroom. They replaced the ridge vent, repaired the ceiling and replaced the hardwood flooring. I would never use them again. I had found better quality of flooring for less than the was charging but they said they had to use it. I had surgery and been out of town and they kept bugging me that they needed to hurry and get this work done. It took several months for the repair to be done but that was on me. I still have issues with some of the flooring not fitting together correctly.

FOlds Hardwood Floors
Initially, the floor was sanded and finished with satin polyurethane finish. The finish was splotchy and uneven. It was obvious where the polyurethane application had been overlapped in long stripes, whereas other areas appeared to have little coating. Worse, there were prominent circular swirl marks in the wood in many places in all four rooms. I asked the provider to re-sand the floors and apply a gloss polyurethane finish instead of satin, which he agreed to do. The new finish was generally much better in appearance, but still contained numerous swirl marks, although not as noticeble as the first attempt. In the process of doing the work, the refinisher left black scuff marks on freshly painted walls in all four rooms. These appeared to have been caused by his machines brushing against the walls (black rubber handles and bumper strips around the sanding/buffing machines). When my wife pointed this out to him, he denied responsibility for the marks. Finally, he also slopped polyurethane coating on the freshly painted white baseboards of all four rooms. This has left very noticeable yellow stains on about 30 - 40 percent of the baseboard surface, requiring that all the baseboards be repainted. I painted over the scuff marks on the walls, but asked the provider to assist me in repainting the baseboards and pay for the paint. He agreed to meet me at the house at a certain time to address the complaint, but never showed up. Over the past week he has refused to return my calls. ADDED 26 July 2010: In the time since this report was originally submitted, I have noticed numerous unfilled nail holes in the wood floors that he indicated he would fill as part of the floor refinishing process. Another area where he did not fulfill his contract with me. Additionally, I have found numerous polished nail heads in the wood which he said would be set so as not to scar the sanding disks, which would in turn mark up the floor - exactly the situation I have. Perhas his eyesight is failing, or maybe he just did the work carelessly and in a great rush to get on to the next project with little concern for quality.

Kevin sales associate came out, measured, gave estimate. Drew and his worker came out on a Monday. Pulled up old flooring, repaired a few concrete areas. Installed hardwood in great room, hall one day. Installed master bedroom third day. The molding, trim for between rooms and all. Trim at doorways matches the dark hickory wood well. They moved furniture and did thorough clean up. Hand scraped hickory is beautiful! Plan to do other 2 bedrooms as soon as possible.

It went very well overall.  They showed up when promised, laid the starter boards on day one, continued installation on days 2-3, cleaned up and replaced furniture on day 4.  The installer who laid the hardwood was absolutely meticulous about his work.  The new floor looks great.  We're very satisfied.

ABEN BAKER FLOORING LLC
The refrigerator water supply line leaked and damaged the laminate flooring in the kitchen as well as the carpet in the master bath (former owners put carpet in bath??) Also damaged carpet in closet and bedroom. Insurance company sent SevPro for the dryout (they were great). They also sent Triad Restorations out for an estimate. Their estimate was for $12,395 for half the work that Ben Baker Flooring charged us. Ben Baker and his ENTIRE staff are all professional and they make you feel like they've known you forever. The installers were on time, friendly, and professional. I will definitely be recommending Ben Baker Flooring to everyone I know.

I am a patient person and would have no problem waiting for the tiles. However, what was most appalling was the way the owner's wife, Mrs. Rainey handled the situation. I called on a Friday morning to check on the tiles. They had come in. I asked politely if we could either order several more tiles for future repairs (since they were constantly cracking or loosening) or if we could retile the floor with a tile that was more available (not constantly on backorder). She interrupted the conversation and started yelling at me. I asked her twice not to yell at me and she hung up on me. I had to ask my husband to intervene. She called to harass me and I handed my phone to my husband. She even yelled at him. He had to ask her twice to stop yelling and to be more professional. She persisted in inappropriate and unprofessional behavior and he finally ended the conversation after saying, "fine, I don't want you to come to my house and do the repairs." Screaming, she stated "someone will be there next week." She then called me on my cell phone to ask for my husband. Thinking it was to schedule the time and date for repairs, I handed the phone to him. The time of the call was logged on my phone after store hours. She started yelling at him for unrelated issues and he hung up on her. I had to write a letter to the owner, which is also her husband, to ask for a new contact name for any future repairs. I also requested that his wife have no contact with me or my husband. I eventually put a recording device on my phone to record any and all calls with her. I should have done more research on this company. They have had 10 complaints with the BBB within the last three years, and 3 complaints in the last 12 months.

FA Cut Above Carpentry
The following Monday, he called me and said he had gone out of town and was gone all weekend. Did he not know on Friday night when he called me & left the message for me to return his call, that he was going out of town??? Duh! o Anyway, I just listened and then he said that he had a price for me. Now mind you, all I wanted him to do was to take up my ceramic tile in my bathroom, pull out a fiberglass shower & replace the floor with a heated floor mat, that I was furnishing, reinstall new tile on the floor, tile the shower with my tile, etc. that I would be furnishing. That was it; no moving walls, no anything more. (Well, I have bought several houses over the years & remodeled them myself, & do know about such things, so I was expecting a decent price, especially after all that fine talk of how well he treated his customers. I am getting older, or I would have tackled this job myself, but my husband insisted that this time, we hire this job out, as it would be prolonged if I did it.) We had just had another bath done that we, my husband & I, removed the ceramic tile & fiberglass shower and tub unit from. We then hired out the replacement work,  with much dissatisfaction from that remodeling guy! He took two months to finish our job!!! And he took so long doing the work that when he removed the taped down walkway that he'd been using to come & go, in & out of our home, that the tape removed the finish from my hardwood floors! My husband was so ready for the guy to get out of our lives that he just let him get away with ruining our floors in several rooms!!! BUT TO CONTINUE WITH THIS PRESENT NIGHTMARE... he said he had spoken to his grown son about this job, (evidently being inexperienced with the heated floor mat), & that he had come up with a price of $5,500.00!!! I had already had 2 other estimates of them furnishing everything but the floor tiles & their prices were less than $4,300.00!!! I told him that there was no way I would do that, & thanked him for calling! Of course, I was not going to use him, anyway, after he had led me down the garden path, so to speak! Evidently, his lack of experience was the reason he had not called me back in the first instance!  I guess if people have this kind of money to pay such prices as I have seen on here for his work, & if he can handle their jobs, more power to them. I JUST THOUGHT OTHERS SHOULD KNOW OF MY EXPERIENCE!!!
