Recent Review: Very well, no issues. I was stressed a bit during the demolition because I’ve spent my life repairing things and I cannot willfully destroy a perfectly working apparatus w/o causing issue. I work on multi-million dollar stat of the art medical imaging systems, repaired multi-million dollar state of the art weapon systems. So when I take apart something it’s with specific details and watching these guys destroy the old windows and doors didn’t sit well with me. Sorry just me. I think there is a methodical way of doing things and I think it applies to all removal processes. Yes, have an issue with the property brothers also.

Recent Review: When we bought our house on Santa Rosa Sound in 2008, it had no storm protection of any kind. We immediately set about looking at options. Folkers was one of several companies we called to give us estimates. A few of them were a bit baffled by how to deal with putting shutters on a house that had so many different types and sizes of windows (some of them difficult to access) while others of them simply didn't show up for scheduled appointments, or came once to look at the house and never got back with us. Folkers was smart and sent their best spokesperson, Linda to come see us. Not only was Linda the most well versed in all of the available options, she was knowledgeable in explaining how a hurricane works to destroy a home. Most importantly, Linda took the time to get to know us and realize that we spend a great deal of time traveling for business, and that we can't come home on a moment's notice to install shutters. Linda helped us to determine that from both a storm safety and security standpoint, our best investment would be impact glass. At first we were nervous about undertaking such a major, expensive project. Linda helped us to break the project up into three phases, focusing on our home's most vulnerable areas first.  Folkers has now completed 2 of the 3 phases of converting our entire home to impact glass, including the installation of a beautiful full etched glass front door, transom, and sidelights that have completely changed the look of our home.  We could not be happier with the service or the quality of workmanship we have received. The crew comes and systematically removes and replaces one window at a time. When they are gone, other than the beautiful new windows, you wouldn't know you had just undergone a major renovation, for they leave no trace....not so much as a chip in the paint around any window. They even re-installed all of the blinds. In addition to giving us peace of mind, the impact glass reduces glare and noise from outside, and has significantly reduced our energy costs.  3/26/13 - Update! Folkers just installed a beautiful new sliding door and transom to replace an 8x8 slider. The work was meticulous and the difference to the look of our living room is amazing.  The work Folkers has done for us has been phenomenal, and we highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to install new doors or windows.

Recent Review: Chris was able to contact me and complete the job within a week. He installed handrails in both the entrace hallway and the main hallway. He removed and replaced the exhuast fan in the bathroom requiring him to enter the attic to adjust the wirering. He removed the old folding type closet doors and replaced them with sliding doors in the bedroom. He also made some repairs to some outside vinyl that had come loose. He did a very good job on all.

Recent Review: I was really sorry he moved to South Florida, because those of us with old homes know what a gem it is to find someone who can do just about anything you ask. And I asked for a very complicated barn door slider, room divider for what was essentially a bathroom in a closet. He was able to create the form for the doors to hang and slide perfectly to create a pivacy wall for a small space and then installed a beautiful tile shower in the new bathroom space. Everyone who sees it is amazed. He exceeded my expectations when he modified the slider hardware to fit the wood plantation doors, by adding extra washers he created and painted to make a better fit. He is always willing to take suggestions, feedback and work collaboratively on projects. When he first starting working I had to chuckle to myself about how much stuff he must have stuffed into his vehicle, because it was topped to the brim in the back, nothing fancy, but it had essentially everything needed to do the job. He reponds to attention to detail well.

Business Description: When you call or text me, you get ME, when you hire me, you get ME.........though I can come up with extra hands frequently if the project requires it. I have been a solo Handyman for 23+ years, and like doing small repairs and projects; no desire to be the typical General Contractor. My fee is $48/hour plus $3/per mile one way out of Navy Point, am generally too busy to do "free" estimates if it's not pretty close to home. More details at www.HandymanKyle.com, though that site isn't current on some info as I need to learn a new " web platform" in my "spare" time......uff da. There are quite a few websites out there with inaccurate info about my biz , so it's best just to call me and see if I can help you with your situation. Recent Review: Terry showed up exactly when he said he would be there and commenced to work on the projects we had discussed in a very neat and timely manner. He is very personable with and pleasant to be around , we had no qualms about leaving him alone in the house while we ran errands....no matter what the project he is ready to tackle it and if it is above his skillset he does not try to bluff his way through it but will help find someone more qualified

Recent Review: I contracted with Absolute Storm Protection to install new doors (with a 10-year warranty) and windows in my townhouse.  I paid half down ($16,000).  Unbeknownst to me ASP ordered only the frames from Ventana.  They purchased their own glass and took a spray gun to the doors.  When they were installed the paint was horrid and chipping off.  The only way to fix the paint would be to somehow remove all the paint, powder coat them and repaint them.  Another contractor estimated it would be about $2-3,000 per door to do that. The glass did not have the florida numbers on them because they were not rated doors, which I had specifically demanded to have and were not tinted as well as the windows.  (The windows were factory made by Simonton and are great.  Simonton sent me a lifetime warranty and stand by their product.) Upon researching I learned ASP is not licensed and not legal to install the doors. They refuse to do anything other than to slap another coat of paint on the doors. The doors are bowed.  They have been adjusted a number of times and continue to re-warp.  The only way to lock the doors is to have someone on the outside push on the top and bottom of the door and have someone on the inside lock them.  The handles are flimsy and and are breaking.  One broke off within 30 days of the installation.  I have written and telephoned Ventana numerous times.  The said they would send a new handle (but didn't) and offered to sell me their new painted frames for $7,000, supposedly their cost ($7000+). This required me to trust that the doors aren't bowed and the paint job is good, then to contract with someone to put the old subpar glass in them and install them. Plus it didn't seem right that they profited fully in the first transaction and then want me to pay them again for doors they were already paid for.  They refused to refund even a dime of my money and said I would have to work with Absolute because I'm not their customer. ASP is definitely the worst culprit in this problem, but the Ventana doors are faulty. I am filing a review both.  Do not trust Ventana doors. They are cheap and Ventana's warranty is worthless unless you buy directly from them...assuming it is worth anything even that way.  Absolute Storm Protection is illegally installing doors and windows, as I have been told by the county they are not licensed to do so anywhere in Florida. Their warranty is worthless too.  They too refuse to return any of my money.

Spoke with sales rep from manufacturer. Price of door $3600 and includes screen door and track. The $4000 price charged by Folkers did not include screen or track. BUYER BEWARE of quoted prices from Folkerrs..... Weather strip that was finally removed and should have not been there was for the screen doors that were not provided. The demands were clearly stated to office manager the day after installation. They were to remove weather strip , provide white powder coated screws to replace visible stainless screws on inside and outside of door. The trim was not installed correctly and after a week of requests it was fixed correctly. After a few days of use the door locks did NOT work and once again after several requests the locks were properly installed. These issues could have been easily addressed, instead many requests had to be made for proper installation. No added parts requested only the track for screen door which according to manufacturer should have been provided and installed. payment was held until all issues were addressed as requested. If payment was not withheld I am confident issues would not have been addressed.

FABSOLUTE STORM PROTECTION
I contracted with Absolute Storm Protection to install new doors (with a 10-year warranty) and windows in my townhouse.  I paid half down ($16,000).  Unbeknownst to me ASP ordered only the frames from Ventana, USA. Upon researching I learned ASP is not licensed and not legal to install the doors. Their installation was awful and I had to pay another contractor to repair and hide their shabby construction. ASP refused to do anything other than to slap another coat of paint on the doors. I have written and telephoned Ventana numerous times about their 10-year warranty.  They said they would send a new handle (but didn't) and offered to sell me their new painted frames for $7,000, supposedly their cost ($7000+). This required me to trust that the doors aren't bowed and the paint job is good, then to contract with someone to put the old subpar glass in them and install them. Plus it didn't seem right that they profited fully in the first transaction and then want me to pay them again for doors they were already paid once.  They refused to refund even a dime of my money and said I would have to work with Absolute because I'm not their customer. And the doors and windows don't pass Florida code. Their warranty is worthless too. Plus they will now demand you pay them 80% of the contract before they will install anything, so you won't know how bad the doors and installation are until you are out most of your money.
