Clint and his workers are all super nice people, very courteous and respectful. He beat two other bids that we had, and because of his personality we decided to go with him. I could go into the events of the entire week, but it would take a while, and all you really care about is the end result, right? The deck looks great at first glance! They did have to re-do a few things that I wasn't satisfied with, one being split spindles, but he did replace them and I was satisfied with it. The front porch looks great at first glance! A huge improvement over the previous metal railing that was there. Remember the small landing that we wanted in front of the shed? Well, it's nothing more than a 'box' that you step up on. VERY disappointed in that one! After being here and really paying attention to the detail of the workmanship, that's where he loses me. There are exposed nails in places on the railing around the front porch. The nails on the deck are not consistent. Some stick out further than others, some are deeper in the wood than others. They are not in a straight line, kind of but not really. You can see the attempt, but the reality is they aren't straight. A couple of the spindles are crooked. Again, at first glance, everything (with exception of the shed) looks great. It's the attention to detail that is a disappointment. Oh, the baby gates are great, really nice! The other huge disappointment is what they left behind. NONE of the existing wood was hauled off. My husband wanted to keep some of it, but we pointed out exactly what he wanted and we specifically said everything else could be hauled away. NOTHING was hauled away, and that was part of the bid. And we have picked up enough nails between the front and back yard that we could probably build another deck! We picked up empty wrappers, not sure what they were from. Oh, and the empty McDonalds cup that was left in the cupholder on my swing in the front yard............Once again, it's the attention to detail that is missing with this company, the lack of urgency, and the mess they left behind - Great personalities, pleasant to be around, and a decent price, but don't expect 'craftmanship' and don't expect a clean yard when they are finished. In my opinion, they don't check their work behind themselves to insure that it is right. Or then again, maybe they do......?? I must say, we have not called them back to express our dissatisfaction, so they have not been given the opportunity to come make it right. We have simply taken care of it ourselves. It is my belief that we shouldn't have to call them back. It should have been done right the first time around.
