FLOORING AMERICA
Recent Review: Eric Ward was the salesperson. He was knowledgeable of his products and was quick and punctual to come to our home to measure our living and dining room. We were having two upstairs bathroom renovated and we explained we would have to call for the installation date after the other work was complete. It was six weeks or so when I called to arrange installation. The first available installation date was several weeks out . On the Friday before the following Monday installation date we were contacted and told the installation crew could not be here until Tuesday. We were told the installers were not able to finish the install they were working on Friday and needed to finish that job Monday. We did not have a problem with the additional day wait and even we were glad to hear the installers would finish a job that ran over the allotted time scheduled. We moved all but the three largest pieces of furniture out of the rooms and I made sure that to be up and dressed before 7:30 am. I waited until 10:30 a.m. And my husband called Eric to find out what time the installers would be here. He did not get Eric but left him a voice mail. Eric returned the call a little while later and left my husband a voice mail that the installers would not be able to come until Thursday 21. It seems the prior Friday 27 job was now going to take until Wednesday to complete. Since my living and dining rooms were cleared of the furniture, I was sequestered up in my bedroom until we could put the furniture back. I called my painters who were coming Wednesday to paint those rooms and rescheduled them until Friday. I then wrote an e-mail to Eric Ward explaining my concern that not only did I question the explanation given - a job scheduled for one day was now going to take four days to complete - and also how I expected better from him than installers just not showing up and no one could even call and let us know. I also explained that should the install not be done on Thursday we would be by for a full refund. There was no response at all to the e-mail. On Thursday about 9:30 am I called Eric to find out where the installers were. He said they were picking up the material and would be here as soon as they were loaded. The installers arrived about 11:15. They did complete the work Thursday and the floor looks very nice. The installers were nice and obviously had experience in installing hardwood floors. We still have not received any contact from Eric. I would have thought he would have at least called after the install to make sure we were happy with the finished floor but I thought wrong. We had previously had Flooring America supply and install our kitchen vinyl floor a couple of years back. On that job they performed as expected. That is why we may use them again in the future but not to install wood flooring. And we would most likely ask for a salesperson other than Eric Ward, the store manager.

Simon Hardwood Floors
Recent Review: The job went exceptionally well. Eric Simon took the time to really educate me on my options so I made a decision that I was really happy with. His crew was on time and courteous. They got everything done in the time frame they said they would. I was very concerned about a large discolored area of flooring in our kitchen that became exposed after we remodeled and removed the island. I was also concerned that the new hardwoods in the family room would not match the 18 year old hardwoods in the kitchen and foyer. Eric assured me that everything would be great and he would do whatever needed to be done for me to be happy. He absolutely was correct and stood by his word. Our floors look amazing and I could not be happier. Eric even came back a few days after the job was complete to buff out a Popsicle stain that my toddler left on our brand new hardwoods (at no charge!!) I highly recommend Simon Hardwoods to anyone who wants old floors refinished or new floors installed!!

APrecision Hardwood Flooring
Mr. Jeremy Frost (owner) came to my home and gave a free estimate. I contracted his company to install hardwood flooring in the living room and office to match existing hardwoods in the dining room and foyer. Mr. Frost was very professional, friendly and knowledgable. He was very responsive to any questions or concerns I had during the process. His crew arrived on-time every day until the job was finished. They were professional and curtious. They finished exactly as scheduled and the total bill was exactly as estimated. The floors are beautiful and match the existing floors. Mr. Frost even threw in the walk-in closet in the master with the left-over wood from the job. I would recommend Precision Hardwood Flooring to anyone. They are not the least expensive nor the most expensive. They give military discounts! :)

AHarold Fuller
Harold is very experienced and knowledgeable. He was good to explain exactly the work that would be involved and what to expect. His crew were polite and friendly. I felt comfortable having them work at the house even when my husband wasn't home. The floors look great and I am so glad we did the work when we did. The only negative things that I could mention are the price, the scheduling, and the cleanliness of the job after they left. Now, maybe I am expecting too much. It's been a long time since I have had to replace floors but I couldn't believe the price. The labor wasn't as much as the cost of the flooring but I spent twice as much as I wanted on flooring. Also, there were some miscommunications about scheduling. We were up against a tight deadline and I made that clear when I booked the job. We got pushed back further than initially agreed upon. Harold did still manage to get it done in time but they had to work on a Sunday to do it. Finally, when the crew left, the floors were a dusty mess. Not to mention there was extra glue left on some of our base boards. Again, maybe this is the norm but I just think it makes a company stand out when they leave the job as clean as when they arrived. All in all, I would still recommend Harold because he is so good at what he does and he is a nice man.

FFLOORING AMERICA
Installers did not have the required tools the first day so it was pretty much wasted. The second day they rented the right tool but were given the wrong blade so more time was wasted going back. Later while using the right blade it broke (through no fault of their own) so they knocked off early. They took off three days for Labor Day and us with a half finished floor. The real "kicker" was the cement dust. They broadcast it over the adhesive used on the old flooring. Dust was everywhere. We are still wiping it up two months later. I admit removing the old flooring and adhesive was a nightmare of a job but i feel they could have contained the dust better had they tried. The owner of Flooring America The Mill Store Inc. in Columbus also owns the one in LaGrange. He directed us to his LaGrange store for kitchen cabinets. We paid them $13,200 on August 4, 2016 for cabinets that were to arrive the week of Sept. 19, 2016. We still have no cabinets and I've filed a complaint in small claims court in an effort to recoup our money.

They matched the existing flooring very well and you can't tell the new finish from the existing finish. They were punctual and attentive to detail.

APremier HomePro (240) 223-7034
I am writing this to assist others who are new to home remodeling and contractor selection.  I hope you find this helpful in your decision-making. Premier HomePro remodeled my outdated kitchen recently, and they were able to transition my home from a 1970s retro-tacky harvest embarrassment to a gorgeous up-to-date space WITHIN the confines of my budget ? no small feat. When I began planning for the project, I had (as instructed by company president Alan Stevens before our first visit) gathered pictures and images of my dream design, and I had gone to home improvement stores to find samples of finishes I wanted to use.  I?ll admit I had champagne tastes nurtured by the HGTV sites I had been scouring!  Upon our first meeting, however, Alan did something that won his company my business ? he was able to give me an estimated cost ON THE SPOT, he helped me fine-tune my budget explaining the costs of all aspects of the project, then he showed me how to stay WITHIN my budget while still achieving the look and feel I wanted!  He kindly and respectfully educated me on the process of construction as no other contractors had taken the time to do.  The people I had met with before Alan either didn?t show up or never got back to me with a bid, or they tried to convince me to exceed my budget before we even started.  Alan and Premier HomePro were different.  Now I will say this ? Alan doesn?t pull punches or sugarcoat things, and I could see the Marine Corps training behind his upfront approach (I?m a former military officer), but that training clearly is what keeps his crews on track and professional.  All the guys knew their jobs and were efficient, careful of my things, respectful, polite, and even nice to my dogs!  They seemed to realize how disruptive a kitchen makeover could be so they put one of my old cabinets and piece of countertop in the family room to make me a temporary station for my microwave and coffeemaker!  A small gesture, I know, but characteristic of their attention to my needs.  Mauricio, the project manager, was perhaps one of the calmest, nicest people I?ve met and was a great counterbalance to Alan?s no nonsense approach - I think they?ve got the good cop/bad cop thing perfected! The project moved along quickly and probably would have finished exactly on time, but one of the fixtures I wanted was discontinued so we had to re-order something different which took a little extra time. The kitchen, when finished, was beautiful and looked really high-end!  My friends thought I had stuck with my expensive tastes and blew out my budget!  That made me very happy and proud to have guests for dinner once again where the main topic of conversation will NO LONGER be my Brady Bunch kitchen.  As Alan said at our first meeting, ?We?re not the cheapest guys, and we?re not the most expensive either, but we?re the RIGHT guys!? I know that this is true, and I?ve learned through discussions with friends who?ve either tried to go cheap (with non-licensed people) or friends who didn?t work with someone who respected their budgets, that I made the best investment.

Jeremy came and did an estimate for stairs and rails. There were issues in turning lite color stairs into a much darker color, but Jeremy and his crew stuck it out and did a beutiful job. We had to outsource the banisters and rails to another company.
