Recent Review: Business-like. No nonsense. Came when arranged. This was not an emergency call. They came the day after I contacted them. Two people in the crew. Efficient and fast workers. Went off to find a replacement element leaving their tools in place (so I knew they were coming back) and took some time as part hard to find. Fixed, tested, cleaned up and left.

Recent Review: I had the same man do all the work on my house.  He had some roofers and they kind of work for him.  He needed extra help, but everything that was done was done by him except the carpeting.  His name is Dennis Adams.  He's an individual.  I tend to call him jack of all trades.  I'm pleased.  He has done work for friends of mine and they were pleased too.  He just truly does about everything.  He was a home builder in Oregon.  He was a contractor there.  I needed a lot of things done and he was able to do it.  He was very pleasant to have because he was in the house for a long time.  It was very, very comfortable to have him around.  He was an extremely nice man.  In fact, it never bothered me when I had to leave the house.  I know that's not a smart thing, but he was totally, totally, completely reliable.  He has already done a job for man across the street.  I like everything about him.  I like his integrity, his work and his attitude.  It's not always comfortable having a stranger in one's home for a couple of months, but he was very comfortable.  He's just a lovely, nice and a trustworthy man.  Everything about him is an A+++.  If something came up and he couldn't get here at the time he said, he'll call and let me know which a lot of them don't do and I just would sit there all day waiting.

On each of three occasions we've used Affordable Appliance Repair, the problem was immediately diagnosed correctly, the new part was installed, and the washer was up and running again in under 30 minutes. This last visit was no exception, and we were able to get same-day service again, even though it was the day before Thanksgiving and the repairman had been installing new ovens for multiple customers that day. They were still thorough, fast, and reasonably priced: a service call charge is $55, plus the cost of the part.

I've had it for 1 year & 4 months, but it's only been in use for 8 months. I used it in December 2011 & the heat wouldn't go past 200 degrees after the first time I used the self cleaning feature. They supposedly repaired it but less than a month later they had to come again (2/10/12) for the same reason. Less than 2 months later (4/9/12) they had to come out again because I still had the same problem after using the self cleaning feature.  Then again (5/16/12) the same problem! My husband was told they would try to contact Frigidaire to see if they'd replace oven. I called this repair company to check back on that & was told that it wasn't their job to contact them! I called the manufacturer who said that the paperwork was out of order for all the repairs - for example that the paint was a problem, not the self-cleaning issue! She said to have the repair group contact her to get everything sorted out. I called the repair company again & spoke with Jerrod who seems to think that all this is my problem! Instead of helping me, he complained that the repair person lost money on a repair for me. He told me it wasn't their problem & that I'd have to work it out with the manufacturer. I told him that I expected him to stand by the product they sold me & he again told me to work it out with Frigidaire. I paid almost $2000 for an oven that only partly works & the people who sold it to me aren't of any help at all. I wouldn't use them again & wouldn't recommend them to anyone!

Visit charge rendered for incorrect assessment of problem. We called Jay's Appliance to repair an error code displayed by our double oven controller. He was not reliable about returning our phone call. He stated that he was very busy and could not get back to us until the next week. He never returned our call after two weeks. After several calls and reminder that read about him Angie's list, he finally called me back. When he arrived, he spent a few minutes looking in the oven. After he checked the owner's manual, he said that we needed a new controller board. He then checked a couple of websites and said that the part was no longer available and that we just needed to buy a new double oven. I stated that that found that hard to believe because the oven was only about 12 years old. I asked him for the part number. I also told him that she was calling Kenmore to complain. He stated that we owned him $75.00. When he left, I called Kenmore, and the people at Kenmore gave an alternate part number for the controller If we had listened to Jay, the would be out a few thousand dollars instead of a few hundred. We asked him for a refund of the $75.00, because we no longer felt that we could trust his judgment or even depend on him to call us back. We also feel that due to the erroneous information and lack of time given to our problem that he should return our money. We have now ordered the part and will have to hire someone to fix the double oven. Since he is an appliance professional, he should be providing us alternate sources for a defective part, not the other way around. We also contacted the BBB. He was not reliable about returning phone calls and did not correctly assess our problem to find that the part could be ordered. He did not spend the needed time to fix our problem and almost cost us thousands of dollars. He gave us incorrect information and did not fix our oven. He even told us that a part was no longer available and that we needed to get a new oven. This was not true!
