Recent Review: Steve is an excellent worker, he does exactly what is asked of him in a timely manner. The contractor (#@#@**and ) I originally hired to install a second bath in my home refused to put up the shower door, too meticulous, too hard he said. Steve installed the shower door and it is perfect !! Steve replaced a hose on the toilet ( the previous contractor put on) that was too short and in a crimp causing the toilet to take several minutes to fill up, he fixed the stopper in the bathroom sink that also was not previously installed properly. I wanted two light fixtures changed and he put the covers on my vent / fan light in both bathrooms along with the new light above the bathroom sink. The night before he arrived the ceiling fan in one of the bedrooms started smoking. Steve checked it out to find the fan motor locked down, he installed a new ceiling fan. I cannot say enough about his work ethic. The jobs I have are small, (except the pain in the rear shower door),and most contractors would not want to deal with them but Steve did, he charged me by the hour and did not waste time about getting things done. I have several more odd jobs to be done and will definitely hire him again.....

Recent Review: From start to finish, all members of the Bleu Bayou team were communicative, courteous, prompt, competent, and professional. They ensured that we were pleased with each phase of the project and asked the appropriate questions along the way to learn our exact preferences. Andrew was always available to us and his team and was personally involved in the more critical aspects of the project. He routinely inspected the work that was done by other members of the team to ensure the utmost quality. Our new shower door was a couple of weeks delayed by the manufacturer, but as soon as it was in, Andrew made arrangements to have it hung without delay. Since the door involves new technology, multiple adjustments had to be made during the hanging process, and the team persisted until it was perfectly adjusted. Our new shower is beautiful and is actually a little larger than before, thanks to Andrew's generosity and creativity. The workmanship by Andrew and his team is excellent, and we recommend them unconditionally. We will not hesitate to call Bleu Bayou for any future remodeling needs we may have!

J Brewer and Associates

Recent Review: The project went very well from start-to-finish.  My husband and I met with several contractors and eventually decided to go with J Brewer and Associates.  This company's cost estimate was higher than the other bids that we received; however, they stood apart from the others due to their level of knowledge, professionalism and comprehensive approach to our home's maintenance requirements.  Furthermore, the warranty of work from J. Brewer and Associates greatly exceeded the warranties provided by the other contractors that we contacted.  It is nice having this additional peace of mind and it also reflects the level of confidence that this firm has in their workmanship.  When my husband initially met with David (the Project Manager), he pointed out things to him that no one else had noticed and/or bothered to bring to our attention.  David genuinely seemed as concerned about the maintenance of our home as we did.  Furthermore, David was one of the few people that we contacted who actually did exactly what he said he would do.  If he told you that he would meet you at your home at a certain time or get back with you via e-mail or by phone by a certain time, you could count on that being the case.  David always kept his commitments from the initial estimate to the completion of the job. The majority of the work  was completed by David, Eric and Jared.  Eric was the drywall contractor and he did an excellent job.  Like David, he had wonderful communication skills and was very dependable.  He was also very easy going and a pleasure to have in our home.  Furthermore, Eric made a few very minor repairs that had not been specified in the original statement of work since they didn't require a lot of additional effort on his part to do so.  Needless to say, we appreciated that as well.   The complex shower door replacement was done by Jared.  Like David and Eric, Jared possessed excellent communication skills and also did exactly as promised.  When Jared started working on our shower door replacement, he quickly became concerned about discoloration of the shower stall where the previous door had been for the past 19 years.  He discussed it with me and then called David, who advised him of someone to contact to repair the fiberglass shower stall.  Jared did so and he had another contractor onsite within the hour.  Jared waited for him to arrive and then made arrangements for the work to be done the next day.  I was advised that this would be an additional $250 and given the option of proceeding or not.  We decided that the additional $250 was well worth it and we were thankful that Jared had brought this problem to David's attention and they were able to address it so quickly.  Furthermore, either Jared or David was onsite when this new contractor was there to make sure that everything went as expected, which I also appreciated.  Although David and Jared had not worked with this new contractor in the past, he did an excellent job as well.  We were very pleased with the shower door once it was completely installed.     During the course of the project, Jon Brewer also stopped by the house one day to drop off supplies and see how things were going.  He was just like everyone else that we'd met from this company...very knowledgeable, friendly, professional and a pleasure to be around.  Like the rest of his colleagues, Jon's concern about our home extended beyond the scope of the project.  He asked Jared to check the exterior of our home around the office area where the leak had been to make sure that it was truly well-sealed now and that the flashing around the bay window was at the correct angle to prevent any future leaks.  He did not want us to have our office ceiling repaired and then continue to have problems down the road.  We thought everything was okay in this regard, but we did feel an additional sense of relief when Jared reported that everything appeared to be in order here.     Although we did not have any significant problems, I did have to contact David to have the shower door tweaked a little bit after completion (and payment) of the work.  I asked David if someone could swing by over the next few weeks to take care of this for us since it wasn't an emergency and I thought he would need to work us into their schedule since they do stay quite busy.  However, David replied that he would make arrangements for someone to be there before the week was out.  True to his word, Jared was there within 48 hours (at a time of my convenience) and Jared had the issue completely addressed within an hour.      In conclusion, we were very pleased with the work done by J. Brewer and Associates.  We were especially thankful to have David managing  the work on our house.  He appeared to have a significant amount of experience in all aspects of home remodeling and was very well organized and detail-oriented.  It was nice being able to just contact him with any questions or concerns and know that he would take it from there. My stress level was greatly reduced because David took care of everything so I didn't have to do so at all.   We will definitely use this company when are in a position to continue our remodeling efforts, though that may be a year or two down the road.  We liked this firm's accountability, dependability and high quality of workmanship.  Our expectations were surpassed and the project was completed on schedule for the agreed upon price ..you can't ask for more than that.

HE MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO COME ON 1/13/04 AND HE NEVER SHOWED OR CALLED. THE CUSTOM SHOWER DOOR IS NOT HUNG CORRECTLY. IT BINDS AND IS STILL SLIPPING. THE MANUFACTURE REP SAID IT WAS INSTALLED WRONG. THE OUTSIDE LIGHT CONTROLLED BY A REMOTE IS TRIPPING SOME HOW AND CONTINUES TO COME ON NUMEROUS TIMES THROUGHOUT THE DAY & NIGHT. IT COMES ON BY ITSELF AND STAYS ON UNTIL WE TURN IT OFF.

This was our (wife & I) 2nd project with Dare Remodeling. Ann wrote the porch review in March. We were so pleased with the level of craftsmanship on that first project that we asked them to quote the bathroom project. We were not disappointed!!! Ann and I got to see the whole project from start to finish (I am retired and Ann isn't working). I know what's behind the pretty skin and the care that was taken so that it remains good looking. This group really takes pride in their work. As you may know there is a certain amount of changes that occur brought on by the customer and those things that were encountered that were hidden during the estimate. We certainly had our share on this project. There was nothing that we could not workout in a fair manner to both parties. They are very good at listening to your plan and working with you to achieve the end goal. While they are perfectly able to design a bathroom for you, they are willing to loan you their experience and support to achieve your dream. Our project was a combination of ideas from both parties. They made Ann and I feel like we did it all but we didn't turn down any suggestions from Dare Remodeling. We felt very comfortable with them in our house and we really enjoyed the experience of working with them. We are looking at another project for next year and will obviously put them at the top. I expect they will be very busy. Some details of the cost as shown above; the materials included special order granite, therapeutic whirlpool tub, tile (floor and custom shower), shower door, all faucets for sink and tub, toilet, shower system package and accessories (towel bars, grab rails etc.) came to approx. $17,250.
