Recent Review: Jason was very responsive to our service call. He is a professional in all ways. He gave us a great price with a senior's discount and even informed us of our local gas company's rebate for replacement units ($350.00).  We had already turned off the gas and water and even drained the tank before Jason arrived. The total time for taking the old tank out and replacing it with the new tank was 1 hour. He took away to old tank for disposal.  We plan to call him back in several weeks to replace the water regulator and fix a leaking faucet. I will be referring Chapman Plumbing to my neighbors.

Wilbur's Air Conditioning Heating & Plumbing
Recent Review: Shower Faucet with Exaggerated Leak.  I tried to replace the cartridge myself.  Got down to the final step, which was to remove a ring holding the cartridge in place.  My home is 15 yrs old and the corrosion was extensive and I could not loosen the ring safely.  If you are not careful, the copper pipes in the back could bend, therefore causing a huge problem. DIY is great, but you have to know when to say when and at this point the water to my entire house had to remain off until I was able to replace this cartridge.   Hummm....so I called Wilbur at 3pm.  They have 24/7 hour service, and were willing to come out after hours that same day or first thing the next morning.  I chose the next morning.  They had a big job following my repair, so two workers came to my home.  This was a one man job, but while one replaced the cartridge, the other worker took it upon himself to check my overall water pressure, my home filtration system, and my electric water heater.  It was determined that my expansion tank on my water heater was not working properly, so he replaced the expansion tank.  The technician showed me why it wasn't working, and how to check the new tank for proper function. This additional discovery may have saved me from having a more complex problem with my water heater in the near future.  The technicians were very professional, wore shoe covers while working, used computer tablets; which I appreciate, especially for looking at the history of my account if I need them in the future.  The cartridge replacement/labor was 310.00 and the expansion tank replacement/labor was 214.00.  If I had been able to replace the cartridge myself it would have cost me 40.00, so I will say that I did have to take a deep breath when he told me the cost.  However there were 2 factors that I had to consider, 1) I had NO water, and 2) I did not have time to check Angie's List that afternoon.  This company does offer a 10% discount to members (note to self).  I needed help ASAP and called a neighbor whose opinion I valued and she recommended Wilbur.  I have not needed a plumber in many years, so in all due fairness, I do not know the current rates for this industry, but you certainly get what you pay for.   I absolutely was not disappointed with their service and will call on them again.  I believe in developing relationships with small businesses that you believe in.  Loyalty works both ways and I do think that this company appears to serve our community well. Happy Customer!!

DSentry Heating, Air, Plumbing & Generators
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! SCAM SERVICE AGREEMENTS! Sentry scammed us into signing multiple expensive maintenance agreements then amazingly found all sorts of expensive repairs to do each time they came. We own a home built in 1966. It's old and is being renovated. We know there are going to be issues so maintenance agreements seemed to make sense. Our first call to Sentry was due to their sticker being on the furnace. I assumed they installed the furnace since it had their sticker. (Later I realized they stick their decals on everything when they visit the home.) I called them to have the furnaces serviced and cleaned. The rep did a better job trying to upsell me on maintenance plans than he did actually servicing the furnaces. Two days later the gas valves on both our furnaces went out to the tune of over $3000. Bad luck or something else? Of course we called Sentry to come back because the agreement gave us a small discount. The rep looked at the furnaces and said "boy these sure need to be serviced. They are really dirty." This was two days after Sentry had been there to service it. Spring HVAC paid maintenance rolls around and they find a burned relay on the condenser. $300 to repair, but wait he also says your tankless hot water heater urgently needs to be flushed. He shared I need to buy a plumbing maintenance agreement because that will be covered. I repeated back to him twice "the plumbing agreement will cover flushing out the hot water heater?" I was told "yes" twice so I signed. Today the plumbing rep from Sentry arrived to do the "maintenance" agreement visit. His only tool to do our maintenance was a flashlight. He found various issues that could cause problems any day. Each issue had a $300-700 price tag. Total for repairs he found was $2042 and I'm sure that would be plus plus. I reminded him that the hot water heater needed to be flushed and he notified me that "repair" would be $680. New hot water heater costs about $800. He said we would probably be better going with a new tank hot water heater because the tankless are so expensive to maintain. Our Sentry maintenance agreement visit was nothing more than a glorified PAID visit for them do estimates at our home. The plumbing rep did do his best to convince me we needed a Sentry full electrical maintenance agreement to handle many electrical issues he saw. Do yourself a favor and find a company that will be honest, do the work required and not have every technician looking to sell you a "bundle".
