Recent Review: Excellent craftsmanship, attention to detail, creative design ideas, and dependability are hallmarks of North Alabama Builders.  The crew of Ben, Jared, and Mason were polite, respectful, and went beyond the call of duty and performed jobs other than the ones they were strictly contracted to complete.  We are 100% satisfied with every aspect of the job(s) they did and recommend them highly.  If you need home repairs/remodeling, North Alabama Builders should be your first (and last) call!

Recent Review: They did an excellent job.  The lead person took care to check the work being done and they new what they were doing.  I noticed a couple of things that were small that he didn't see and he took care of those quickly.  They completed the job in record time and worked hard.  The lead contractor was professional and at the same time very personable and open to ideas.  He is honest and stayed within his original price for the work.  He didn't mind some tack-ons and charged appropriately.  I would highly recommend them to anyone needing any kind of remodeling or repairs.

Recent Review: We were very pleased with the work Justin did.  He was very quick to come and and give us an estimate.  It took a few weeks to get to us because his schedule is very busy.  When he started on our job, he worked every day until he was finished.  He was very particular about his work and did an excellent job.  He was good to clean up after himself.  We will definitely use him again.

Recent Review: I'm not sure on the cost because I just gave him my card to go get supplies and it was less than $1000 for labor. I would say he did an excellent job. He was very upfront with us about potential problems and helped us work through and find the best solution for us so that we can not have to do anything too costly. We were looking to do the job within a budget. He did a good job with that. Just making sure that, for example, the popcorn ceiling in our bathroom. My friend had sprayed it with the shower head and some of the popcorn had come off. He gave us options on how we could fix that. If we did one options, what we would be looking at, like replacing that popcorn there and it wouldn't have a uniform look, it would look patched. He gave us other options, one would be the most costly and one wouldn't be very costly at all and he would help us decide what we could do within our budget.

They did not get the edges properly. They splattered paint on our curtains and did not cover things properly. When I called to complain the owner came out and was balidgerant. I had to ask him to leave my home. I used a coupon from the val pak on the internet and they would not accept it. They said it was not valid. We had a go around about that and I ended up sending them the money on it. He turned around and then mailed the money back to me. We still have a a popcorn ceiling that is not done. Someone else told me that they should have just took all the popcorn off and re-popcorned it again. My living room now looks worse than when we started.

Mr. Jones did very poor quality work in my home. He ran electrical and plumbing but did not use a licensed electrician or licensed plumber, never applied for the required permits, overloaded a circuit breaker, and the line running to that breaker has a bare splice sitting right on the floor joist. He then denied to the Better Business Bureau (in mediation) that he even did any electrical or plumbing though it's right in the proposal and I was billed for it. He closed black mold back up in my walls, built wavy wall build-outs, and the paint job was atrocious (wall paint on the ceiling and smoothed a portion of my popcorn ceiling without re-texturing it). When he hung my cabinets he used only one or two nails in some of them; one cabinet was fortunate enough to have 3 nails. Out of $6864, I paid him $6,000 even though he never mailed me the bill, only a letter stating I still owe $864. Now when he knows the City is involved, on my last request for a bill from him it showed a balance of $3,089 as opposed to the $864 he said he was going to file a lien on my home for. I called the City out to perform an inspection and I failed the electrical (for the reasons already mentioned), other building codes were violated such as installing the insulation backwards, and possibly will fail the structural inspection because of 2x4's on the load bearing wall being cut; in the pictures I have taken it appears they are notched out by about 50-60% but the maximum allowable is 40%.. We won't know the full extent until we open the walls up to complete the inspection. The inspector believes the hot water heater line also has a splice in it but we cannot confirm that until the wall is removed. My 10' wall of cabinets has to be reconfigured because while the access door can still be opened on the electrical panel, it blocks the cover to the electrical box. Code says there must be a 15" clearance from the center of the box and I only have about 8". They also want to inspect my door headers because they may not have been framed properly (on one door, there is a large gap between the header board and the top of the door frame. Again, that requires removing the drywall.
