Recent Review: We received multiple estimates for the work, all from companies with top ratings from Angie's List and the BBB. Harold from Creative Containment gave us a base estimate that was in line with the others, but the additional charge to upgrade to cedar was significantly lower than the other offers. Creative Containment was also the most responsive when I requested additional information. Harold estimated that the crew would be available in about thirty days, depending greatly on the weather, and that a firm date would be given to us when we were closer to the top of the job queue. In the end they had to delay one additional day from the date we were given but gave us a courtesy call to let us know before hand. They also called both mornings of the job to let us know when they would be arriving. On the first day the crew handled the demolition of the fencing being removed, marked off the new fence line in relation to the property line, marked where the new posts should go, dug post holes, set the new posts in concrete, and left the concrete to set overnight. Unfortunately, after the new post locations were marked (but thankfully before the holes were dug), an issue arose that changed where the new fencing would have to be placed. The crew handled it professionally, changed their string lines, scuffed out the post location markings, and measured and marked new locations. Day two saw the installation of the new cross-members, pickets, and gates completing the installation. It also brought some pleasant surprises. We had assumed the new gates would be pre-manufactured from a hardware store, but instead they were custom built onsite in the actual location they were being installed, thus ensuring a perfect fit and match to the surrounding pickets. We were also impressed by the crews handling of a section of fence that passed close to a tree, causing a serious change in ground elevation where the roots were just under the surface. They cut the bottoms of the pickets individually so that the fence followed the change in terrain while keeping the tops of the pickets lined up straight. Their post-work cleanup was thorough, and a supervisor did a walk through and inspection of the work and job site with us to get our approval before releasing the crew. We would recommend Creative Containment without reservation. They are very busy, because they're very good, but are definitely worth waiting a little extra time for.
