Recent Review: Rob & his helper replaced the fascia on back of house and had to reattach the guttering in front and back of house where it was coming loose and falling, along with cleaning them out. They also needed to reattach the roof vent along top of roof where he said it was coming loose. All of that was a big job that they got done in 1 day in addition to fixing the bottom of my back door frame that was rotted out and becoming dangerous going in & out door. Plus I didn't think they would get to the bathroom ceiling that day but they got the roof leak sealed and cut the corner of ceiling out and got it patched back before they left, which by that time they had worked all day till almost 9 pm getting it all done. Rob did come back a few days later to sand ceiling and make it smoother. I am happy with work he did on house and it was all for a very reasonable price, everything was done for right at $1200 .

I had the provider come to my Mom's house to put up a new ceiling fan in her bedroom and replace a mail box on May 10th. The associate came out replaced the mailbox and installed the new ceiling fan but as he was installing the fan he touched a live wire (he did not shut off the breaker for that room) and shorted out all of the plugs / electricity in the bedroom except 1 outlet and 2 lights in her bathroom.  The associate could not figure out what was wrong so he left in the early evening and said he would return. May 11th he returned but still could not figure out how to restore the electricity so he said he had to go talk to someone else about it. He never returned. May 12th we could not get in touch with anyone from Rentaman until the evening and were told that someone would be out to try to fix the problem on the 13th. The provider came out and tried to fix the problem by changing some plugs and breakers.  This did not restore the function so he told my Mom that he would have to come back later that day with someone else more knowledgeable. Later that day he called and said it was too late to bring the guy with him that they would return on Saturday, May 14th. The never returned and never called her to tell her they were not returning.  When this first happened the provider told me that he would do whatever needed to be done to correct this problem caused by his worker.  Friday he charged by mother $67 for the breakers and plugs he replaced.  This should have NEVER happened and if I were there she would NOT have paid him. We hired an electrician to come in and he had to run new wires because the provider's associate burnt a wire when he arched the live wire installing the fan.  A few days later she tried to use her AC unit and it would not come on. We called the AC repairman out and he said that there was no electricity to the AC unit.  We called the electrician out and he found that the provider had knocked one of the wires off in the breaker. The electrician repaired the breaker and restored the AC unit.  My mother is 68 years old and on oxygen. When she gets too hot or worked up about something she has a harder time breathing. They left her hanging and with no air circulation in her bedroom for days. She had to sleep on the couch.  I had to move all of her breathing treatment machines to the kitchen so she could medicate herself. The provider did not stand behind his contractor's mistakes or his word to me to correct the problem. I absolutely would NEVER hire this provider again. I also feel that he should return the $67 he charged her for breakers and outlets as the electrician's fees came out of our pocket. We paid to correct his contractor's mistake.

ARobs Jobs
The work was done in a timely matter with a lot of extra work that wasn't initially in the bid or estimated length of job and also completed while we were living in the house which made it very difficult 4 Robs crew to achieve. But as difficult as it was they were very accommodating and always professional.2

House 1 remodel went well. I received a comprehensive estimate, work was carried out in a timely manner, and inadequate repairs were brought to my standards fairly quickly. Repairs made were sheetrock, framing, finishing, painting, porch roof replacement, floor repair, siding repair, flashing installation, and linoleum installation.  After redoing the poor flashing install, siding repair and linoleum install I was satisfied.  House 2 was a simple sheetrock and paint job.  The finishing work was fine.  The painting however was rushed and in need of a second coat and I was left to repaint the area when he could not correct it in a timely manner.  Repair #2 was sheetrock repair, baseboard prime and paint.  All were done correctly.  House 3 was a difficult job which took several months.  During this time, there were very few disagreements on timeframe and scope of work which is good.  He did collect pay for jobs prior to their completion, which caused discord when items remaining were not really worth the time needed to complete them. Items done were: wall addition, laundry framing and sheetrock, finish work, painting, paneling replacement, door repair, door installation, floor repair, bead board installation, shower cement board installation, porch demo, decking and rail installation, and eave replacement.  Items of concern were cement board installation on the shower surround one inch off tub and too close to plumbing, sheetrock on the ceiling improperly installed (the crown molding was not removed and therefore there was a one inch gap between the ceiling and wall that had to be repaired), large gaps on new eaves, and some items were paid for but not completed or had to be redone included paint, touch up, pressure washing under porch, and siding repair. Upon final payment the remaining items were not attended to.  These included, painting the ceiling, painting closets, removing tape from outlet covers and painting under them.  House 4 was doorway arch, paint, ceiling repair, floor poly, flush mount light install, drain repair, dishwasher install, siding repair, window repair.  Here there was so much paint on the floor that it took me an entire day to remove.  After asking him to redo a lumpy mud job he left it to dry and did not return to prime and paint it.  Silicone was used instead of proper plumbing on the drain repair, which he did correct.  Items paid for and not completed were ceiling prime and paint, sheetrock touch up, and window repair and glazing.  Additional expense for ceiling $50.  House 5 was a simple paint job, window repair and deck pressure wash and railing replacement.  He took an extra half day to replace step tread that was fine and paint return vent covers.  There was so much paint on the floor that it took a day and a $50 floor sander rental to correct.  Items paid for and not completed were window sill caulk and paint.  Additional damage $100. At the end of each job it became more difficult to get things redone and finally with the last two houses ultimately it was my responsibility to redo.  He did however go above and beyond my expectations at many times.  The bottom line is this, he can do things well, but if he is busy or a job drags on he may leave items sub par.  Sheetrock work was good.  framing and carpentry were good.  Painting and trim were good except for paint splatter.  He is honest, which is rare. My only complaints are that I wish he would have taken some of the work of supervision off of me and I wish he would have finished as strong as he started.

Contractor is very good at delivering when it comes to cost and time estimates. Seems very honest and is willing to give his opinion on less expensive options and what will be best in long or short terms. Was able to quickly come up with solutions for our uneven house when installing tile and attic ladder.

F3rd Generation Painting
They did not complete the painting on the interior of the home. They painted some of the walls but were supposed to paint all walls, woodwork and ceilings. A lot of the maintenance work they were supposed to complete was never done. They completed the painting on the exterior but while they were doing it spilled paint on the roof which they never cleaned up as agreed. They didn't show up many times on days they said they would be here. They were paid for all of the work, but left before finishing the job and never returned.

As opposed to the estimate, it took months instead of days. Most of the time he wouldn't show up when he said he would, and if he did, would only work 1-2 hours per visit and then spent more time on his cell phone than working. Basically, all I got for the money was new cabinet doors (which I didn't ask for) and a really bad installation of "peel and stick" flooring. For example, he pieced together the tile around the refrigerator instead of pulling it out and placing the tiles, started to paint the ceiling and said it was too old (house built in 1976) and the plaster was coming off with the paint, so he didn't do that. Part of the deal was expanding the cabinets to the ceiling. I had to introduce him to MDF because he couldn't "figure out a way to do that". Once he did, the moulding he cut has not proper angles closing at the corners and he told me that I needed to install plinth blocks in the corners because he couldn't cut the 45 degree cuts (even though he had a table saw capable of doing this). The only thing I could recommend Chris for is drywall repair. He learned this from his father and is good at it. I cannot recommend Chris for any other kind of work, you will be disappointed. I learned that he has a tendancy to commit to work that he either has no experience or the time to do. Before the job was completed (by his standards), the kitchen remodel left me with a kitchen that was worse than what I had and must be completely redone. In addition, his estimate on cost ended up being much more and the labor costs were more than the materials! Be wary, even though he may try, don't expect a professional job. In addition, expect your calls and/or messages to be ignored as a routine way of his doing business. And believe it or not, he is (was, don't know) a friend.
