Recent Review: Mr. Langford came out to the property exactly when he said he would and gave me the estimate. I contacted my insurance company and the work was okayed by them. Within a week he and his crew were on the site and removed the foundation and other debris on the property. This was a major amount of work but they had the correct equipment for the job. No bobcats or small machinery, but the big type machinery that can move just about anything. It only took one day and the next morning to finish the work and clean up the site. I couldn't have asked for a better job or a better price.
Heath (& Marvin) arrived promptly at the agreed upon time. He was professional in his demeanor. He surveyed the grading of the landscape and gave me an honest opinion of what could and couldn't be done in a cost effective manner. I appreciate that he was honest in his analysis and provided me with a cost effective option even though it meant he did not get the job. Should the need for extensive excavation arise in the future, Dirty Health's Bobcat/Dump Truck/Excavaction company will be at the head of my call list.

ADirty Heath's Bobcat/Excavator
I called Heath for an estimate on bobcat work to level two areas in our small back yard, one for an above ground pool and the other for a play set with a slide. He visited our site, and after discussing the project and learning of his background as a professional builder we decided to hire him for the excavation as well as leveling with a transit, the construction of a retaining wall, material hauling and tree removal. He was prompt, courteous, responsible and professional throughout the entire project. The quality of the work is excellent and we could not have found a better person to work with. He was a very hard worker and able to complete the work ahead of schedule before rain set in. There were a few changes that we made as we went, and this was not a problem at all. Overall a great experience and I would not hesitate to recommend him and will be calling him for any future work as well!

ABob Whitley Decorating Inc
This was a very involved project that started with excavating part of the basement, foundation work, & structural reinforcement before the project could really begin. Bob Whitley assisted with all phases of this, subcontracting portions of the work as needed. Much of the build-out involved working from detailed engineering drawings that involved very specific construction detail drawings designed to preserve acoustical isolation of different parts of the space. The quality of the carpenters provided was outstanding. Very high quality work performed by professional crews. Reliable & punctual. Clear communication. Everyone with the company made sure that I was satisfied with the work performed.

AMC CORD EXCAVATING CO
Kenny was referred to us by our builder that we selected. He was an extremely hard-working individual as the bulder said he would be. He worked quickly once he was able to get to our project (I believe he was delayed due to rain) and had the property cleared in no time. The charges were: Loader at $100 per hour, Truck at $75 per hour for hauling wood and stumps, and Saw man at $25 per hour. He also was able to give us a $627.40 wood credit which we were grateful for. Kenny also had a detailed and organized invoice. McCord Excavating Company was pleasant to work with to get our building project going in the right direction. .

AGriffin Excavating Inc
He had excellent equipment, it was big, and could do the job in a short amount of time. He was there early every morning, and he was always there before my husband. He got the job done quickly, and he made sure that everything got done right. He had good people working for him.The price was good, because we expected a bigger bill. We will be using them in the future.

ABanks Spiller Landscape and Bobcat
Banks Spiller was hired after I had met with and hired two other Concrete contractors to do the work and they never showed up. Not only did he show up and start when he said he would, he did a fantastic job and had to work through some extremely wet weeks of work to complete the project. He originally said the entire project should take 3 full days if the rain would hold off. It ended up taking almost 3 weeks to complete due to it raining almost every day for 3 solid weeks. He showed up almost every day, even on weekends to try and get done whatever he possibly could in spite of the bad weather and never once complained. He called to touch base with me on a daily basis to let me know what had been done and where things stood. He catered to every request I had and made a few project changes and never changed his original price he quoted me. For example, he wasn't satisfied with the quality of soil in my front yard and was afraid the sod/bushes might not grow well in it so he brought in several loads of topsoil to ensure the grass and bushes would grow well. He even reset my mailbox for me as a favor at the end of the project even though that was not part of the bid. He was a pleasure to work with and took tremendous pride in doing an excellent job. The end result was stunning and you could tell his years of experience really paid off in the finished work! We've had a couple of hard rains and there's been no more water in the basement. The french drain and excavation work he did worked perfectly. The newly soded yard and circular driveway looks terrific and I've had several neighbors already compliment me on how great the driveway and yard look. I would highly reccomend Banks to anyone needing excavaiton, concrete driveway/walkway or sod work!
We are so impressed with Matt Mertz plumbing. We have rented our 85 year old house in Brighton heights and our basement has been flooding on and off since July 4, 2012 - (please note that we live on top of a steep hill). Two other plumbers looked at the problem, one completely missed the boat, the other's quote was extreme. Our poor tenants had to deal with a busted water heater, and never knowing whether or not the basement would be dry. After weeks of temporary 'repair', I called Matt Mertz Plumbing from Ottawa Canada, and within 45 minutes, my call was returned and someone had come to the house a few hours later. We needed extensive repair as our tree penetrated the 85 year old pipes and the drain to the main sewer was completely blocked. Matt called me directly to explain the problem and give me a reasonable quote considering the huge amount of work needed to be done. They even moved their schedule around so that they could come a week earlier than initially quoted since it was flooding so regularly. My tenant told me how professional, clean, and efficient the crew were. Matt and his crew were very respectful towards my tenant and was vigilant about keeping the basement as clean as possible, finishing quickly, and keeping inconvenience to a bare minimum. When the job was completed (three days later), they had lain new pipe throughout the entire basement, as well as all the way to the main sewer. Matt guaranteed that the tree cannot cause any more damage and that my new drainage system will last a lifetime. He sent me pictures of the work that was done, as well as provide a DVD to see the inside of the new pipe. Because we are so far away from our property, it is such a relief that I found a such a thorough plumber with such professionalism and skill. We cannot be happier. Matt is a very knowledgeable, clear, honest, and hard-working professional. Even though we have never met face to face I have no doubt that our flooding problems are gone for good!

DPardue Building Company LLC
It was not a great experience. The owner is William Pardue. It was a 4 1/2 month project. From the man in charge to the subs he used, there were not any bright spots. It started out with great hope and good intentions. Some of the subs were sub-par. The city had to come back a minimum of 3 times and reinspect the work done by the plumber. I'm not convinced I am free and clear of any plumbing problems. The electricians did an average job by today's standards. There were certain areas they fell a little short of code. I went in behind the work and took care of certain issues because I am gifted in that area but I shouldn't have had to. The contract was blown out of the water by 23 percent. The only shining star in his whole operation was his framer. His framer did conscientious work. His crew was there when they said they would and did what they needed to do. The work they did was technically good. They did not cut corners. They seemed very on top of things. The masonry crew was probably a group of illegals. The heating and air guys were dumb and dumber. They had to come back and rework some issues. I don't want the plumber or heating and air guys back in because they have had their try. The whole experience overall was negative and I would never recommend the individuals for various reasons. Every time they came it seems to get worse so I don't want them back in my house.

I called Superior Plumbing because 2 previous plumbers had failed me...the first one unclogged my sewer drain but told me I had roots and tried to sell me yearly root treatment. The problem recurred within a month. A second plumber then tore up my wall to get to a cleanout but failed to unclog my drain and left after bending his rotor rooter. When I called Superior Plumbing Robert came out with his fiberoptic camera and showed me that my sewer line was narrowed due to pipe corrosion and buildup of minerals. It was clear I needed my line replaced and that it was not a root problem and we arranged another visit although he was able to unclog my line enough to function until that time. A few days later he arrived exactly on time with a helper and using a small backhoe he excavated the old cast iron line. Then he replaced it with 4 inch schedule 40 PVC and also constructed a cleanout that can be accessed from outdoors. No more tearing up of walls to clean a drain! Not that I will need it anytime soon. When he was done before he left he had me run all the water in the house including the washing machine on spin and flush all the toilets at once while he checked the pipe through the cleanout. It handled the load easily! He took the old pipe away and left my property in good shape. He showed a lot of respect for my property unlike previous plumbers. It wasn't cheap but well worth the price as I am worry free and won't have to waste money on plumbers that put a bandaid on the problem or tear up my wall and leave.

ADirty Heath's Bobcat/Excavator
Very well, we now have a beautiful grass lawn. The project became larger than originally anticipated as there was more lot preparation required to get a quality landscaped lot. Rainy conditions proved difficult for the sod farm to cut the sod required and there were last minute changes of sod vendors to get the installation completed in a timely fashion. The cleared area proved too large to completely finish with the sod ordered and some side areas were filled with pine straw pending "Phase 2" of our large lot improvement project. We are very pleased with the work ethic, promptness, and pleasant demeanor of Dirty Heath. We will be using him again as we move forward with the major lot improvement project on our property. He can do just about anything with his large skill set, and that was a real plus on this project.
