FFOSTER'S APPLIANCE & TV REPAIR
The repair was completed 4 days after leaving the TV with the shop. I briefly looked at the TV as I was picking it up in the rather dimly lit shop. I should have inspected it more closely. Now that it's home in better lighting there are 6 long scratches across the TV screen, each about 7-8 inches in length. Also the silver frame has several dents that are black where the finish was knocked off. The attached picture shows where they cracked the outer casing of the TV. I'll be contacting the shop tomorrow to request refund and replacement. I'll post an update with their response.

Went fine - we had a bad experience with another electrician who promised us twice he'd show and never did. The guy for Mr. Electric told us when he would show, and he did, called shortly before he arrived. He was very friendly. He explained what he was doing, and about the warranties for the different pieces. The price tag was a little high but I'm no expert. **An update: We had problems with our phone line and found that the electrician did a poor job of handling the wiring around the phone line area, left the breaker box open and old breakers on top of the box. We asked for someone different to come and fix things and generally look things over. They sent the same guy. Judging by his responses, it was going to turn into a match between him and the phone people. We are not at all confident that the work done was of any real quantity, but we do think the outlet for the stove is good. The way he talks, he's one of those people that has seen everything, done everything, been everywhere - and we were wondering why he was working as an electrician.

The original contractor who I hired for my renovations turned out to be unprofessional and incompetent. I was forced to fire him and in the process learn the value of having a contractor licensed by the state of Florida. Thankfully, someone recommended Omega Construction and Design. All of the Omega workers proved to be totally professional. They took extra care in protecting my personal belongings, art work and my home. They not only worked around my hectic work schedule but they were considerate of my family, my pets and my neighbors. Communication was outstanding. Work was meticulous and completed in a timely fashion. Considering that I was living in an active construction site, the workmen left everything exceptionally clean at the end of every day.

APROFESSIONAL ELECTRICAL SVC
Home Depot arranged for the service.  The lady that called from Professional Electrical Services to schedule the service was very pleasant. On the day of the service they called before they came.  They arrived promptly.  They put on booties over their shoes to protect the floor and as I had just thrown out my doormat and hadn't replaced it, they put down one they brought with them. They brought in the tools they needed, removed the old fixture, and installed the new fixture.  It went smoothly and quickly.  They hauled off the old fixture and would have disposed of the packaging from the new one, but I recycle.  Greg Oliver was the lead technician.  He was very efficient and competent as was his helper.  Both young men were very polite with good people skills. I was very pleased with the service and plan to call them next time I need an electrician.

From the beginning we were blown away by Dave's professionalism. Dave has excellent communication skills, and is good at explaining pros and cons to ideas we have proposed. Dave never tried to push us to do projects we didn't need, and when he made a suggestion, it made sense. Every project has come in on time and on budget; the last one was actually under budget. His subcontractors are held to a high standard; work must be done to exact standards and the area is left clean when finished. We feel so blessed; Dave is honest and fair, and we always know we can count on him to deliver what he promises - even more.

They came and started the work and finished. They had to be called back to wire the porch outlet and they had to be recalled back again to reconnect the dryer that they forgot to reattach.

He came to re-do the fuse box and the can as well, since it was totally blown inside. I didn't know that this worker wasn?t licensed - he wasn't not even a certified journeyman - when he did this. About a week later, I noticed that the dryer wouldn?t come on, and Sears checked it out and found that there was no electricity to the special dryer outlet. I called Cain Electric back. The owner, Michael Cain, was really rude - right after I paid the bill, naturally. He said that it wasn?t their problem and I?d have to pay to fix to the dryer outlet. If it happened to be their problem, he said, they would pay for it. I?d already had problems dealing with him. He said, ?Well, there are lots of electricians out there. You can look in the phone book. They start at A.? He also said, ?Now, you listen to me,? and I said, ?Wait a minute, I thought I was the customer.? I decided to hire another company to check it out. The other company sent a licensed worker out who found that the electricity hadn't been properly routed to the dryer. They hadn?t put in all the breakers properly either. The licensed and bonded electrician fixed everything. I called Michael Cain back and said, ?You don?t seem concerned that your worker did something wrong.? ?No, I?m not," he replied. I asked why not. "You didn't give me a chance to fix it," he said. "You told me it would cost more money!" I told him. "I did not!" he said, which is a lie. This guy just lies and lies and lies. He has his money - what's the point of being like this? Just do it properly. I paid up-front, too. He doesn't take credit cards, either, so I had to write a check. I would have preferred the recourse you have by paying with a credit card. I attempted to call him one last time. The woman I?ve spoken to in the office has been very professional and nice, though. She's the only reason that I've continued to speak with them. In true Michael Cain fashion, he hung up on me - I couldn't even count how many times he's done that. There's just no talking to him. This has been a nightmare and I would not wish it upon anybody. I have tried one more time to try and get this resolved before taking this somewhere else.  He is now saying it is my fault because we moved the dryer. He said evidently the dryer had not been working prior to his guys doing the work and that the move of the dryer is what had to of caused no electricity for the dryer outlet. Now that he has his money, so he does not truly care about his customers.

Recent Review: Kelli was SUPER helpful in explaining their process.  They have NO contract, just a monthly fee that you pay, like your car insurance bill.  You HOPE you never need to use it, but IF you do.....then it is sure nice to have that coverage.  Also, there is NOT a $75.00 service call fee every time you need to have a repair person visit your home.  Just the usual monthly fee, which is based upon your choice of available plans and options that you select when you sign up.  Basically, you only pay for what you need and you are not double, or triple billed for services from an UNknowledgeable or UNskilled service technician at a time you can least afford it.  Their service plans are clearly explained on their web site ((( https://www.completeprotection.net/ ))), and they also CLEARLY explain their limits on replacements on their web site as well.  Keep in mind, they seem to be more REPAIR ORIENTED rather than for REPLACEMENTS and if your item is too old or unworthy of repair, they will pay only a small portion towards a replacement item.  The small amount they do pay towards the replacement if you need it, is listed on the web site.  This helps to keep their fees down as well ! ! !  Another nice feature is that they have a list of repair companies that they will give you, so you can call and schedule your own repair, once you have a Repair Authorization Number from CAP.  The repair companies they suggest are familiar with the CAP process, and will bill CAP directly for the work.  Now if you have a favorite service provider that you prefer to use, that is no problem.  If that provider is unfamiliar with billing CAP, you can pay the provider yourself and CAP reimburses you within 10 to 14 days from the time they receive your bill.  (((Just remember to get the Repair Authorization Number from CAP BEFORE having your work done.)))  Also nice, is if you have an older home, they don't seem to have all the exclusions we read about from the other companies.       We have a home in Henderson, Nevada that we plan to rent out this fall.  We want the tenants to have reliable and trustworthy service folks available to them if they need someone.  We have read the horror stories on Angie's List, for some of the other Home Warranty options out there and some of the service providers as well.  (((You know the ones......service provider is called and MAYBE shows up when expected, or maybe not.  MAYBE they fix the problem for the $75.00 service call fee, maybe not.  MAYBE the problem is fixed this week, next week, or maybe not at all.))) Also, even though our home is new, we want to limit our financial exposure for any HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical and Appliance problems.  We live out of state, but still want our tenants to get quality service when necessary.  For us anyway, the choice is clear.  Complete Appliance Repair.   Oh yeah, and Angie's List of course !!
